Bentley Continental gt 2007 problems
The Bentley Continental GT is a grand touring car manufactured and marketed by the British company Bentley Motors since 2003. A two-door coupé or convertible, it was the first new Bentley released after the company's acquisition by Volkswagen AG in 1998, and the first Bentley to employ mass production manufacturing techniques. It was later joined by the Bentley Continental Flying Spur, a four-door saloon car variant.
Origin
In 1994, Rolls-Royce Motors who at that time owned the Bentley brand, previewed a convertible concept car at the Geneva Motor Show – the Concept Java. The car was designed to be a smaller, more affordable Bentley, yet still exclusive in order to maintain the integrity of the brand. It was to appeal to a new range of potential buyers and generate increase sales volume for Rolls-Royce. At the time the current Bentley Continental R was an ultra-exclusive £180,000 in the UK, within reach of a very select market, selling only 200–300 units a year. The Concept Java never went into production in the form seen in 1994, although 13 cars were made for the Sultan of Brunei. However, the Bentley Continental GT realised the concept of the Java as a more affordable Bentley, manufactured in much larger volumes. Whilst external styling is different, the dashboard design was clearly influenced by the Java.
First generation (2003–2011)
Continental GT (2003–2011)
The vehicle debuted in 2002 at the Paris Motor Show, followed by Le Mans, the 2003 Goodwood Festival of Speed and the 2003 annual Bentley Drivers Club meeting at Silverstone. The car differed from the previous Continental R & T models in terms of its concept: although much of the car is hand assembled, it is a mass-produced car made in significantly larger numbers. It is not a coach-built car. The price at launch was less than half the price of the Continental R, giving the car a wider customer base.
The Continental GT is equipped with a 6.0 litre twin-turbocharged W12 engine, which produces a DIN-rated power output of 560 PS (412 kW; 552 bhp) at 6,100 rpm, and torque of 650 N⋅m (479 lbf⋅ft) at 1,600–6,100 rpm. A Torsen-based permanent four-wheel drive is standard. It can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h (0.0 to 62.1 mph) in 4.8 seconds, and go on to reach a top speed of 318 km/h (197.6 mph).
Early models include a choice of 6 body colours (Diamond Black, Burnt Oak, Cypress, Neptune, Spruce, and Umbrian Red), 8 hide colours (Beluga, Burnt Oak, Laurel, Nautic, Portland, Saffron, Savannah, Saddle), 5 veneer types (Burr Oak, Burr Walnut, Dark Stained Walnut, Madrona, Piano Black) and 4 carpet and seatbelt colours (Beluga, Burnt Oak, Laurel, Nautic). The dashboard clock was made by Swiss luxury watchmaker Breitling.
American Musician Prince owned a 2006 Continental GT Coupe in Baby Blue. Upon his death, in April 2016, the car was placed on permanent display in the sound stage at his famous Paisley Park complex in Chanhassen, Minnesota.

Common Bentley Continental gt 2007 problems
The Bentley Continental GT, a luxurious and powerful vehicle, has been known to have several common problems that have been reported by its owners. Here are the most frequently mentioned issues and their details:
- Suspension Problems: Bentley uses an air suspension system in the Continental GT, which is powered by an electric or engine-driven pump and pressurized air. When this system begins to show signs of age, one end of the vehicle (generally the front) may sit slightly lower than the other. Complete suspension failure is characterized by a knocking noise coming from the front end of the vehicle. This issue needs to be addressed promptly, as symptoms can worsen over time. Replacement suspension parts can easily fix this problem.
- Brake Light Failure: The high brake light on the GT, located in the middle of the rear end above the rear window, has been known to go out before any of the other brake lights. Replacing the entire unit typically fixes this problem.
- Frequent Brake Hoses Replacement: Bentley recommends replacing the brake hoses every 5 to 10 years for all models, including the Continental GT. This guideline is more frequent than in many other vehicles due to the high-end design, which requires more care to remain in prime condition.
- Electric Window Failure: The Bentley Continental GT has been known to have electric window failures, which are often preceded by a slight hissing sound. These failures are typically due to issues with the motor, which has its own ECU. Replacement units are usually needed, as the motor cannot be replaced alone.
- Electrical Problems: Bentley owners have reported faulty icons showing up on their dashboard, which could indicate various issues, such as problems with the air pressure or the engine itself. These problems could be small electrical issues or signs of larger problems. It is recommended to bring the vehicle in for inspection to prevent the problem from escalating over time.
In summary, the Bentley Continental GT, while a luxurious and powerful vehicle, has several common problems related to routine maintenance, suspension, brake lights, brake hoses, electric windows, and electrical systems. Regular maintenance and inspections by a reputable luxury vehicle technician can help ensure the vehicle remains in optimal condition and prevent minor issues from becoming major problems.

ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING,FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM PROBLEM
- Date Of Incident: 2014-05-20
- Components: ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING,FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM
- Summary: I HAD TO REPLACE THE WHOLE LEFT SIDE OF THE EXHAUST BECAUSE IT WAS MAKING A LOUD RATTLING NOISE WHEN THE CAR IS ON. THERE IS A SOME SORT OF FLAP IN THERE THAT BECOMES LOOSE AND IT IS NOT POSSIBLE JUST TO REPLACE THAT FLAP SO THE WHOLE EXHAUST HAD TO BE REPLACED ON THE LEFT SIDE AT A COST OF $2,000. THE BENTLEY SERVICE MECHANIC SAID THAT THIS IS A VERY COMMON PROBLEM FOR A BENTLEY CONTINENTAL GT MADE BEFORE 2009 AND THAT I SHOULD REPLACE THE RIGHT SIDE EXHAUST NOW BECAUSE THE SAME RATTLING WILL START ON THE RIGHT SIDE AS WELL. I DIDN'T SPEND THE EXTRA $2,000 TO REPLACE THE RIGHT SIDE EXHAUST AT THIS TIME. BENTLEY MADE THAT PART REPLACEABLE FROM THE YEAR 2009, SO THAT THE JUST THE FLAP PART CAN BE REPLACED AND NO NEED TO REPLACE THE WHOLE EXHAUST. THIS SHOWS THAT BENTLEY KNOWS THAT THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM, BUT NO RECALL? *TR

The 2005 Bentley Continental GT is a fantastic car! It's so much fun to drive and I find it superior to my Mercedes-Benz S55. It's almost as much fun as my Ferrari 360! The build quality, pickup, and styling are all excellent. I'm so excited to have already ordered a Bentley Flying Spur. This car is a real head turner!

I really like the Bentley Continental GT. While it may not be the fastest in acceleration or handle the best, it is a solid car that performs well in all categories. The fuel mileage isn't great, but that's to be expected from a 5,300 lb. car with a twin turbo 6.0 liter engine.

I have owned many cars in my life, but I must say that the Bentley Continental GT coupe is by far the best one yet. My wife loves it too! Interestingly, there are twenty of them here in Bighorn. I traded in my Aston Martin for this car and I'm so glad that I did.

Get ready for all the attention on the road! The 2005 Bentley Continental GT is a real head-turner. Its performance is absolutely fantastic, and the roar from the exhaust confirms it. The classic scent of leather and wood brings back fond memories. Although I'm 6'3

This car took me a while to receive and unfortunately, after 3 months, I'm not satisfied. While the engine is strong, it doesn't quite live up to the alleged specs that were reported. Porsche's models would definitely give it a solid run to 60mph. The handling is a bit sloppy and the braking isn't exactly world class. On the bright side, the interior is beautiful and the controls are nicely placed. Overall, I think I'll opt for a Ferrari or Aston on my next trip around.

The 2005 Bentley Continental GT is a great car to drive, even though the electronics can act up occasionally. It's part of my collection of fine cars, which includes the Lamborghini Murcielago, Ferrari 360, Aston Martin Vanquish, Porsche Carrera GT, Ferrari 612 Scaglietti, Maybach 57 (custom made), and Mercedes SLR. However, at $600,000, the Mercedes SLR is hardly the car to go shopping with! The Continental could probably benefit from losing some weight, as it detracts from its performance. Overall, it's a decent car for a VW.
