- Summary: About 2013 the 2000 acura rl vsa and abs lights came on then the tilt on the steering wheel up and down stop working then the srs lights and seat belts light came on and want go off. So from then till now I have spent about 15k to correct the vsa and abs issues. Replace rotors bearing wheel sensor tires rack and pinion ball joints and power steering pressure hose. But I found out that the problem is the driver side motor mount. Cost is 100 for the part. The part to fix the issue is discontinued. I talk to daisy at acura corporation relations and disagreed with the answer because the motor mount is a common problem for acura 3.5rl because the angle sensor can not be connected with out replacing the driver door side motor mount I gave her the part number from acura warehouse parts and she couldn't the part and told me it was discontinued part number 50815-sz3-033. There is no refund for the trouble that this part has cost me. The high pressure power steering switch is also discontinued. The navigation and security door locks are also not working no communication with onstar.

- Summary: This is a continuation complaint with national cemter for dispute settlement to fix safty issues and discontinued parts. The car is not 40 years old and i cannot find a maintenance repair book. The power door locks are coming on and off and the fob key do not work Sutton acuta in macon said it needs the antenna but the antenna is discontinued. The navigation system doesn't work because the 6 chamger dvd in the trunk is not working with no electrical tech support from on star. ABS VSA TRACHION CONTROL IS ON for motr tan 3 years but the VSA switch is discontinued part. The SRS light was turn off at the nally acura in Marietta but they came back on and been on for 3 or 5 years. The car is not safe for driving after spending 10000 dollars to repair the same issue. This is my frustration with safty and no support.

I CALLED ACURA AND THEY TOLD ME TO CALL THE DEALER. THE INVOICE MENTIONED A DISCONNECTED AIR BAG AND A FAULTY MODULE. BOTH OF THOSE ITEMS PUT ME AND MY PASSENGERS IN DANGER. THERE WAS A REFERENCE TO 'INCREASED PRESSURE IN THE AIRBAG DEFLATOR.' I FELT I DESERVED AN EXPLANATION BECAUSE I DON'T KNOW IF INCREASED PRESSURE IS A GOOD THING OR A BAD THING. THE ACURA REP TOLD ME SHE WAS NOT ALLOWED TO GIVE ME ANY INFORMATION. AFTER SOME PRESSURE SHE TOLD ME THEY COULD NOT ACCESS THE DEALER INFORMATION. This vehicle is my first Honda product and I have been very pleased. The car is almost 10 years old and the paint looks awesome. The leather interior is the most durable I have ever had and currently looks to be much younger. These cars do not have the cheap plastic parts that seem to break on most other brands.

Sure! While reviewers may appreciate a V8, real people tend to prioritize reliability, value, comfort in traffic, low cost of ownership, dignified style, and long-lasting performance. Fortunately, my RL has all of these qualities and more, and it even receives compliments! :)

Vehicle year: 2010
We cross-shopped several luxury cars, including the Audi A6, Q7, Infiniti M35x, Cadillac CTS4, Acura TL, and RL, after returning a 2006 BMW 530xiT. Ultimately, we decided to lease an RL because it has all the basic elements of a luxury car. This is actually the 4th Honda/Acura we have owned so far, and it's probably the most conservative one we've had. However, the RL is still a wonderful car to drive. We only hope that in 3 years, Acura can give it another facelift based on the upcoming 2009 RL (which is not attractive at all) and make it RWD-biased AWD. Then we think we will continue to be part of the Honda family.

Having owned all of the major players including Lexus, BMW and MB, I can confidently say that this car is amazing. This car was originally sold for $49k, but I was able to purchase mine for only $5500. Despite having 160k miles, it still drives like a new car. I did have to replace the timing belt for $1200, which is a common maintenance requirement for Honda interference-type engines every 60k miles. However, since then, I have only needed to perform regular maintenance in the past 2 years. The RL is built like a bank vault and handles well, despite being a heavy sedan. The SH-AWD system is more sophisticated than most AWD systems, as it can send varying torque to the rear wheels independently. The torque distribution is even displayed on a neat bar graph within the instrument cluster. Additionally, it is one of the safest sedans available, with many cutting-edge luxury features that were standard for its time. I particularly enjoy the automatic rear sunshade for my 2-year-old, and the manual sunshades for the rear windows are also standard. The RL also comes with Xenon headlamps that turn in curves to illuminate more of the road. With about 280 HP and a wonderful VTEC sound when revved, it is enough to keep up with most vehicles on the road today. And when you just want to cruise, it provides supreme, quiet comfort. I absolutely love my RL. Update, July 2019: I still love my RL. In the 3 years that I have owned it, the only maintenance required, besides the timing belt change mentioned above, has been oil changes (using synthetic oil, as that is what the previous owner used) and a new set of tires.

I hope that the previous owners have taken care of most of the electric issues. The car has 122,500 miles on it and some of the electric components have been replaced, including the steering column ($1,850), both back window regulators ($600 each), climate control ($1,400), engine temperature sensor ($300), and ignition switch ($400). Unfortunately, the driver's window is currently not working, and it is suspected that the window regulator needs to be replaced (estimated cost of $500). Some plastic pieces have been broken or are missing, such as the sunglass holder ($190), both vanity mirror covers, the passenger seat side panel, and the glove box restraining line. Before receiving this car, I read all 25 reviews, and a few mentioned the window regulator issue. So, as a buyer, it's important to be aware of the electric problems that this car may have.

Although I have had to invest in some repairs, I am confident in my decision to purchase this used RL. Despite the fact that it had 16.7K miles on it when I bought it, the car has been a pleasure to drive. I have owned used Mazdas and Infinitis in the past, but this RL has exceeded my expectations in terms of performance. While I did have to replace the driver's side power mirror, repair the air conditioner, and replace one of the motors in the passenger's side seat, I am confident that these repairs will ensure the car's longevity. With 50K miles on it, this RL still has a lot of life left in it. Overall, I am pleased with my purchase and confident in the RL's reliability.

The car is well-built, reliable, and sound. However, I found it to be a bit boring to drive. If you're considering purchasing one, I recommend renting it for a week beforehand. There are many great deals available, but be careful not to fall in love with a deal like I did! Unfortunately, with the current overload of lease returns and deep discounts, the value of a 10,000 mile car will be devastating. I learned this the hard way, as I was barely in the black after putting $11,000 down at purchase and receiving a $9,000 discount off the sticker price. Ouch! I'm currently working hard to trade it in for a BMW or Benz, but it's proving to be quite a challenge.

The car drives great, but be careful with too many gadgets as they can drain the battery. Unfortunately, the awkward 2nd key position issue can lead to frequent battery drains. It's always a good idea to carry a jump box just in case. I've owned the car for about 1.5 years and have had to jump it 20+ times.

This is my 4th RL. While the exterior design is well executed, it could be more exciting. The car is solid, but not as reassuring to drive as previous models. However, it is surprisingly fast when passing. The fit and finish are as expected, and the metallic paint is beautiful. Although the voice activation system remains a mystery, the navigation system is easier to use than before, and there's no need to touch the screen. The front doors are larger than necessary, which can make them hard to close, and getting in and out of the car is not as easy as in previous models. The steering is lighter than expected, and road and wind noise can be intrusive, but the excellent sound system makes up for it. Unfortunately, the trunk floor is not flat.
