- Summary: HELLO, I CONTACTED YOU ABOUT 2 YRS AGO WITHOUT F/U DUE TO RECOVERY FROM INJURIES. NOW I HAVE MY CASE ON THE DOCKET TO SUE VW FOR FAULTY DISC/HUB ASSEMBLY THAT SEPARATED DUE TO CORROSION. I HAVE THE PARTS AND PHOTOS TO SUBMIT. I INJURED MY RIGHT ANKLE ON JULY 9, 2009 WHEN THE WHEEL DETACHED FROM MY CAR WITHOUT WARNING AND AFTER IT HAD BEEN RECENTLY INSPECTED AND CLEANED BY BRAKE KING. SIMILAR TO THE JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE RECALL SINCE I OWNED ONE AND HAD THE HUB/DISC ASSEMBLY REPLACED BY STAINLESS STEEL ASSEMBLY. I WISH TO CONTINUE THIS INVESTIGATION SO THAT OTHERS ARE NOT INJURED HEAVEN FORBID. NOW I AM READY TO HANDLE THE CASE IN COURT AND AM PREPARING FOR THE TRIAL. It's been almost 5 years since I got my VW Cabrio. Unfortunately, the top had a defect and started to rip, but VW didn't want to cover it under warranty. Despite this, I've had a few other issues with the car. For example, the car would brake and lock up suddenly, but VW couldn't find anything wrong until I mentioned the possibility of a lawsuit. Since then, that issue hasn't happened again. Additionally, the leather seats in the front started cracking, so I had to put seat covers on them. The engine light comes on occasionally, but when VW looks at it, they can never seem to find the problem. Lastly, the cruise control no longer works and the car revs up when you try to stop. Overall, it's been a bit of a bumpy ride with this car, but I'm still grateful for the memories we've made together.

Hi there! I just wanted to share my experience with my carbrio. I bought it back in 1999, in the middle of winter, and I've been driving it year-round ever since. With basic maintenance and care, it's been such a reliable car. The only thing I wish it had were bigger and better placed cup holders, but other than that, I absolutely love everything about it. I'm actually finding it hard to imagine finding a suitable replacement for it in the future. And the best part? I'm nearing 100,000 miles and I haven't required any major repairs. I purchased the car in 1999 and have had to make a few fixes outside of normal wear and tear. These include replacing the cloth top ($1200), the antenna, parts in the gear shifter, the whole windshield washer fluid system (tubes, sprayers etc), and the air-conditioning refrigerator ($1200). I have noticed that some plastic parts tend to fall off, such as the seat adjusters, parts of the handles, parts in the trunk, and the outside molding. While the car may not be of the highest quality, it does have a nice appearance. Just be careful not to touch it too much, as some parts may be delicate.

Although my car has required a fair amount of maintenance, I have been proactive in addressing any issues that have arisen. I have replaced the tie rods, axels, timing belt, windows, distributor, engine coils, and spark plugs. While there have been some leaks in the power steering fluid and the engine has required frequent coolant changes, I have been able to keep the car running smoothly with the help of a VW specialist. While there have been some minor issues with the glove box and rear upholder, I have been able to manage them without any major problems. I have found that using fully synthetic oil has helped to prevent any misfiring or issues with the engine coils. Overall, I am confident in my ability to maintain this car and keep it running smoothly for years to come.

In my experience, this car may not be the best option for everyday use. It has been slow and feels like it is dragging, and I have encountered several issues such as the bumper falling off, the AC stopping working, and the check engine light coming on. Additionally, the interior arm rests on the doors have started peeling, even after being replaced once. While I take very good care of my car, it seems like everything is going wrong for no apparent reason. Therefore, I would not recommend this car to anyone. However, I do believe that with proper care and maintenance, it could be a suitable option for occasional use. Thank you for considering my experience with this car.
