2002 Toyota Land cruiser problems
The Toyota Land Cruiser (Japanese: トヨタ・ランドクルーザー, Hepburn: Toyota Rando-Kurūzā) (also sometimes spelled as LandCruiser) is a series of four-wheel drive vehicles produced by the Japanese automobile manufacturer Toyota. It is Toyota's longest running series of models. As of 2019, the sales of the Land Cruiser totalled more than 10 million units worldwide.
Production of the first generation of the Land Cruiser began in 1951. The Land Cruiser has been produced in convertible, hardtop, station wagon and cab chassis body styles. The Land Cruiser's reliability and longevity have led to huge popularity, especially in Australia, where it is the best-selling body-on-frame, four-wheel drive vehicle. Toyota also extensively tests the Land Cruiser in the Australian outback – considered to be one of the toughest operating environments in both temperature and terrain. In Japan, the Land Cruiser was once exclusive to Toyota Japanese dealerships called Toyota Store.
Since 1990, the smaller variation of the Land Cruiser has been marketed as the Land Cruiser Prado. Described as a 'light-duty' version of the Land Cruiser by Toyota, it features a different design compared to the full-size model and, up until 2023, it remains the only comfort-oriented Land Cruiser available with a short-wheelbase 3-door version.
As of 2023, the full-size Land Cruiser was available in many markets. Exceptions include the United States (since 2021), Canada (since 1996), Malaysia (which receives the Lexus LX instead), Hong Kong, Macau, South Korea, Brazil, and most of Europe. In Europe, the only countries where the full-size Land Cruiser is officially sold are Gibraltar, Moldova, Russia, Belarus, and Ukraine. The Land Cruiser is hugely popular in the Middle East, Russia, and Australia, and also in Africa where it is used by farmers, the construction industry, non-governmental and humanitarian organizations, the United Nations, national armies (often the pickup version), and irregular armed groups who turn them into "technicals" by mounting machine guns in the rear. In August 2019, cumulative global sales of the Land Cruiser family surpassed 10 million units.

It's great to hear that you find the car to have excellent build quality, powerful and spacious. Additionally, the car has great ergonomics and drives like a high-end sedan. Although it may have more road feel than other similar sized vehicles, this can be a positive feature for those who enjoy a more engaging driving experience.

This is our second Landcruiser. We upgraded from the 1997 Anniversary Edition. I didn't see the value in it, but my wife won in the end. It's a fantastic truck - safe, powerful, and very comfortable. If you're even considering the Sequoia, don't be fooled. The Landcruiser is definitely worth the extra money. It's the real deal.

After test driving five different SUVs, we took the advice of other happy Land Rover drivers and purchased a new cruiser. It's the best vehicle ever! It's very safe, comfortable, has a great ride and tracking, and has all the features we were looking for in terms of size, shape, comfort, and luggage capacity. We highly recommend it!

Fun to drive SUV - drives like a car, in fact, much easier!

If you're looking for a vehicle with exceptional build quality, reliability, and comfort, not to mention the best air conditioner in the business, then the L.C. is the SUV for you. I've owned Fords, Chevys, GMCs, Jeeps, a 2001 E-Class Mercedes, and even a Montero when I was a kid, but none of them compare to the King! Toyota would be losing their benchmark if they were to discontinue this vehicle!

Within a week, I confidently drove this SUV and quickly became frustrated with its sluggish gear changes and noisy engine. I also experienced discomfort when turning left or right on the highway.
