2019 Tesla Model s problems
The Tesla Model S is a battery electric executive car with a liftback body style built by Tesla, Inc. since 2012. The Model S features a battery-powered dual-motor, all-wheel drive layout, although earlier versions featured a rear-motor and rear-wheel drive layout.
Development of the Model S began prior to 2007, under the codename "WhiteStar". The Model S was officially announced on June 30, 2008, and a prototype vehicle was unveiled in March 2009. The Model S debuted on June 22, 2012. A revised, dual-motor, all-wheel-drive version, known as the 60D, debuted on October 9, 2014. The 60D was followed by the 70D, which made dual-motor and all-wheel drive the standard, followed by the 85D, P85D, and P90D. Along with these updates, Tesla offered the Autopilot driving assistance system. The first major design refresh came in April 2016 when the Model S was updated with a new front hood design. In October of the same year, hardware became standard that supports Tesla's Full Self Driving (FSD) capability. As part of the update, integrated standard cameras around the car were added. In February 2017 the Tesla Model S P100D debuted, which included a revised motor and was the first electric vehicle to have an EPA estimated range exceeding 300 miles (483 km). The second major design refresh, codenamed "Palladium", was introduced in June 2021, offering a new "Plaid" performance model, along with a revised interior, powertrain, and suspension.
The Model S became the first electric car to top the monthly new-car-sales ranking in any country, leading twice in Norway, in September and December 2013 and in Denmark in December 2015. Sales passed 250,000 units in September 2018. The Model S was the top-selling plug-in electric car worldwide in 2015 and 2016, although it was later surpassed by the Model 3. Upon its release, the Model S received positive reviews, with praise for its acceleration and range, although initial models received criticism for their high cost and braking issues.

The FSD Beta system may allow the vehicle to act unsafe around intersections, such as traveling straight through an intersection while in a turn-only lane, entering a stop sign-controlled intersection without coming to a complete stop, or proceeding into an intersection during a steady yellow traffic signal without due caution. In addition, the system may respond insufficiently to changes in posted speed limits or not adequately account for the driver's adjustment of the vehicle's speed to exceed posted speed limits.
- Consequence: FSD Beta software that allows a vehicle to exceed speed limits or travel through intersections in an unlawful or unpredictable manner increases the risk of a crash.

As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 113, "Hood Latch System."
- Consequence: If the primary latch is inadvertently released and the secondary latch is not engaged, the hood could open unexpectedly, obstructing the driver's view and increasing the risk of a crash.

I've owned my Tesla Model S LR for 3 years now and I'm happy to say that I haven't had any issues with it. I replaced the HEPA filter ($250) after 3 years and the front tires after 30,000 miles (I advise rotating them every 10,000 miles). I can confidently say that this is the best car I've ever owned. I've had 4 BMW5s and a Genesis sedan, all of which were excellent, but none of them compare to the Tesla. The ride is smooth, the Full Self-Driving (FSD) feature is amazing, the acceleration (0-60 in 4 seconds) is impressive, and the technology is top-notch. I also appreciate the monthly upgrades at no extra cost and the extremely low operating cost (1/5 the price of gasoline). I no longer have to waste time at gas stations or worry about oil changes and other maintenance. Plus, I'm proud to be driving a sustainable vehicle and doing my part to preserve our planet. It's truly a dream car!

Performance version with Ludicrous +. Need I say more? Smart with frequent online upgrades, giving you close to autonomous driving. Easy because Tesla has figured out how to educate its owners and drivers with the big board. No range anxiety with home charge and superchargers everywhere. Quick is something to experience.

What a fantastic car! It's like driving a spaceship. It's incredibly fast. The auto drive feature is great on highways.

I love cars and spent a long time evaluating between high end cars. So glad I chose the long range model S. The Tesla is so fun to drive, comfortable, spacious, and the infotainment system is intuitive to use. It gets better each month with new features and requires almost no maintenance!

Just do it.

Although Tesla's customer support is currently limited to online resources, they offer a wealth of information and tools to help you with any questions or concerns you may have. If you need to schedule service or order parts, their website is a convenient and easy-to-use resource. While I did return my car within the 7 day 1000 mile time period due to lower than expected gas mileage, I found the return process to be straightforward. Although it can be difficult to reach someone by phone, Tesla's online resources are comprehensive and user-friendly.

Tesla has multiple supercharging stations, but unfortunately, some of them may not be functioning properly. This can cause inconvenience and delay in charging your car. It is recommended to check the availability of charging points before planning your trip. However, Tesla is constantly working to improve their charging infrastructure and provide a better experience for their customers.

It can be difficult to speak to a live individual when you have a concern with your Tesla vehicle. Additionally, charging stations have become increasingly busy since the release of the Model 3, resulting in wait times of over 20 minutes just to charge. I must admit, I am regretting my decision to purchase an S class Tesla.

There has been a lot of buzz surrounding Tesla lately. While my expectations were high, I was disappointed with some aspects of the car. The body panels do not line up and the gaps vary, which is a bit of a letdown. The wheels also sit irregularly in the wheel wells. The interior is a bit dark and the door sill is high, but the roof bar is low. The interior panels do not match each other or the exterior, which is a shame. The seat is a bit small and uncomfortable, and the safety belt buckle is difficult to reach. It would be great if the seat could move back a few more inches. The sun can be a bit intense through the glass roof. The car handles like a boat and can be a bit tricky to park. The backup camera could use some improvement. The carputer can be slow and the icons on the screen are small and not very intuitive. The ride height adjustment can also be a bit erratic. However, despite these issues, the car is still a great ride. The braking performance of the Tesla is not up to modern standards, but it is comparable to vehicles from 20 years ago. However, the screen is positioned too far away to be easily reached and the icons could be larger. Additionally, the B-pillar obstructs peripheral vision and can be uncomfortable to exit from. Despite these issues, the Tesla does have good acceleration up to 10 MPH. Overall, while there are some design flaws, the Tesla is still an interesting vehicle to consider.
