The Daewoo Magnus is a mid-sized sedan developed and manufactured by Daewoo for model years 2000-2006 under a single generation, and marketed globably by GM Daewoo and other General Motors divisions, as well as GMDAT stake holder Suzuki. Developed under its internal Daewoo designation V200, the Magnus was marketed prominently in the United States as the Suzuki Verona.
The V200 is a successor to the Daewoo Leganza (model V100), used a larger chassis of its platform. Launched in 23 November, it was sold alongside the Leganza in Korea until the end of V100's production in 2002, when it also superseded it in export markets. The V200 itself was given an extensive facelift for 2006, which resulted in the model known as V250, or Daewoo Tosca in Korea. The V250 completely superseded all versions of the V200 during 2006.
The Evanda comes equipped with the Daewoo-developed XK6 inline-6 engine (DOHC 24V, 155 hp (116 kW) at 5800 rpm, 177 lb⋅ft (240 N⋅m) of torque at 4000 rpm – Canadian specification) or a Holden-built 2.0 L D-TEC inline-4 (DOHC 16V) carried over from the Leganza. ItalDesign of Italy was responsible for the styling and design of both the Leganza and Magnus. However, the upcoming V250 was styled in Korea by GM Daewoo.

- Summary: This issue pertains to Safety Recall Notice No. XC - All 2004-2006 Suzuki Verona Vehicles - DRL System. Please note, the vehicle manufacturer provided documentation service was performed and the DRL Module (part 38860-84Z21-RX0) was replaced at mileage 49470. My wife and I are the original owner and the mileage is 61,000-62,000 currently. Approximately 1 month ago we experienced a slight odor like something electrical was burning. Recently, we noticed 1) That the Daytime Running Lights glow at first and gradually reach full intensity. 2) When switching from low headlights to high beams, all headlights go completely out for about 6 seconds before coming on gradually. Because Suzuki automobiles are no longer sold in the United States, the nearest support dealer is located 150 miles away. A local auto repair shop diagnosed and determined the DRL Module part mentioned in the original recall needs to be replaced. We contacted the support dealer, who, in turn, contacted Suzuki USA about the issue. Suzuki USA indicates they complied with the original recall and refuse to comply a second time. The original recall service report indicated a $122.60 cost for the part. Currently, Suzuki has the part and wants $294 for it, and they consider the repair to be a billable service. We have not been able to locate any alternate part sources and must rely on Suzuki for this item. I am [XXX] old and if I have to drive 150 miles (one way) to make the repair, it will involve the additional cost of an overnight hotel. My local repair guy can do the repair, which I'm willing to pay for if Suzuki can supply the part at $0 or at least for only their product cost. Otherwise, I do not feel safe driving the car with the possibility of having a fire (per the recall notice). Even if no fire occurs, it certainly is not safe without dependable headlights. I THEN HAD THE SPARK PLUGS REPLACED AND FIXED THE CORRODED BATTERY TERMINAL. I DROVE THE CAR ON 10/29/2014 AT 2:00AM IN THE MORNING HEADED TO WORK AND IT WAS JUST HARD TO ACCELERATE THEN IT WOULD SURGE, THE RPMS WOULD GET REALLY HIGH AND THE CAR WOULD ACT AS THOUGH IT WANTS TO CUT OFF! THERE IS A RECALL ON THE LIGHTS OF THESE VEHICLES BUT THEY HAVEN'T HAD THEM SENT OR REQUESTED TO BE FIXED. I HAVE READ WHERE THERE IS NO FIXING TO THESE CARS AND THAT US OWNERS OF THESE CARS ARE ALL HAVING THE SAME ISSUE AND SOME HAVE HAD FATALITIES. - Summary: IMMEDIATELY AFTER PURCHASING THE 2005 VERONA IN APRIL 2012, FROM A LOCAL USED CAR DEALERSHIP, WE STARTED HAVING PROBLEMS. THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON WITHIN A DAY OR TWO, THE AIRBAG AND TIRE PRESSURE WARNING LIGHTS ALSO CAME ON. THE DEALER KEPT TELLING US THEY COULD NOT FIND ANYTHING WRONG TO CAUSE THE ENGINE LIGHT TO COME ON. ONE MECHANIC FINALLY SAID IT WAS JUST THE GAS CAP NOT BEING TIGHT ENOUGH. THIS DEALER SAID THAT THEY COULD NOT DETERMINE WHY THE AIRBAG AND TIRE PRESSURE LIGHTS WERE ON. THE CAR BEGAN HESITATING WHEN TRYING TO ACCELERATE AND WOULD ALMOST STALL. THIS WOULD HAPPEN WITHOUT WARNING. AT TIMES, IT WOULD NOT EVEN START. AFTER SEVERAL MONTHS OF THIS, I TOOK IT TO A SUZUKI DEALER WHERE THEY DIAGNOSED IT AS A DEFECTIVE FUEL PUMP. THE CAR DIDN'T EVEN HAVE 50,000 MILES ON IT YET. AT 75,000 MILES I TOOK IT BACK TO THE SUZUKI DEALER FOR SERVICE TO SEE IF THEY COULD DIAGNOSE THE REASON FOR THE WARNING LIGHTS. THEY SAID THE SENSORS WERE BAD AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THERE WAS ALSO A PROBLEM WITH THE TRANSMISSION STARTING TO GO BAD AND THE REAR BRAKES WERE MALFUNCTIONING. THE SERVICE ADVISOR SAID THAT IT WOULD REQUIRE $8400 IN PARTS ALONE TO TRY TO REPAIR THE CAR. HE SAID THE CAR WAS NOT WORTH IT AND TOLD ME IT WOULD BE BETTER TO SPEND THE MONEY ON ANOTHER CAR. HE SAID THAT THIS MODEL IS KNOWN FOR ALL KINDS OF MECHANICAL PROBLEMS AND THEY ARE NOT USUALLY WORTH FIXING. I BELIEVE THAT THE SUZUKI VERONA IS AN UNSAFE VEHICLE THAT SHOULD HAVE BEEN RECALLED BY THE FACTORY WHEN THESE TYPES OF PROBLEMS STARTED TO APPEAR. DEALERSHIP REPLACED SENSOR UNDER WARRANTY, BUT PROBLEM WITH SENSOR RECURRED AFTER 10 MONTHS AND THE ANTI-LOCK BRAKES DO NOT WORK. WAS TOLD THE BRAKE FAILURE WAS DUE TO A BROKEN SENSOR AGAIN. - Components: EXTERIOR LIGHTING:HEADLIGHTS
- Summary: Suzuki Motor of America, Inc. (Suzuki) is recalling certain model year 2004-2006 Verona vehicles manufactured June 2003 to October 2005. In the affected vehicles, there may be heat generated within the DRL module located in the instrument panel, which could melt the DRL module.
- Consequence: If the DRL module melts due to the heat generation, it could cause a vehicle fire.
- Remedy: Suzuki will notify owners, and dealers will replace the DRL module in the instrument panel, free of charge. The recall began on November 5, 2014. Owners can contact Suzuki customer service at 1-800-934-0934. Suzuki's number for this recall is XC.

- Consequence: THIS CONDITION CAN CAUSE THE POWER STEERING PUMP DRIVE BELT TO DISCONNECT RESULTING IN HEAVY STEERING, AND CAN LEAD TO ENGINE OVERHEATING OR TO BATTERY DISCHARGE AND ENGINE STALL.
- Remedy: DEALERS WILL INSPECT THE POWER STEERING PUMP PULLEY AND, IF NECESSARY, REPLACE IT. THE RECALL BEGAN ON DECEMBER 1, 2005. OWNERS MAY CONTACT SUZUKI AT 1-800-934-0934.

The Verona's ride is definitely one of its best features. In my opinion, it surpasses the Accord in terms of comfort. Although its design may be considered old school, it is still very nice and classy. The engine runs smoothly and quietly, until you step on it. The Verona Luxury model offers a lot of value for your money. The only uncertainty is its reliability, which remains to be seen.

The car has some great features such as a roomy interior, power tilt-and-slide sunroof, heated seats, and heated power mirrors which are a must-have during Iowa winters! I also love the day/night mirror that removes headlight glare and the super sound system with a CD/cassette player and 6 speakers. The armrest with cup holders in the backseat is a very nice touch. The car has a European styling without the price of a European sports car. It also has keyless remote entry with trunk release, an 8-way power driver's seat, power windows and doors, leather interior, and a leather-wrapped steering wheel and gear shift knob. The dash has a sports car style and the car drives great. The price range is excellent too!

Since I purchased this Verona, it has been an excellent ride. It's quiet and comfortable, and the lumbar seats are great for my bad back. I have the Titanium Silver color, which is easy to keep clean and doesn't show dirt too much compared to red or black. I would definitely purchase another one without any second thoughts.

You've got yourself a great car there! It's reliable, quiet, and handles the road really well. Plus, it's got some great passing power. The controls are easy to use and see, although it would be even better if the steering wheel controls were lit up at night.

Other than the low fuel economy and only a 155 horsepower engine, this is a great car. It's a really fun car to drive, they just need to put more horses in it and improve its fuel economy a little.

The seats are quite uncomfortable, feeling as hard as a rock. The acceleration is very slow and the steering is quite sloppy, with serious under-steer. I rented this car for a few days and was very unimpressed. However, it is a Suzuki, which may explain some of the issues. Personally, I would choose a low-end Accord or Camry over this vehicle. It is worth noting that this car does not have side airbags. While it may not be the first choice for a knowledgeable car person, it may still be a good option for some. It is possible that the resale value of this car may be lower than other models in a couple of years, but this is difficult to predict.

I have owned two Suzukis, including my 2005 Suzuki Verona EX. Unfortunately, I have experienced similar issues with both my previous Forenza and this Verona. One issue that seems to be hidden is the surging tachometer, which has caused me to stall at unsafe times when getting onto freeways or trying to pass. While the warranty may seem appealing, it can be difficult to use and obtain a loaner car when the vehicle is kept overnight. Despite these challenges, I appreciate the affordability of the car. As my mother always said, 'you get what you pay for,' but I still value my Suzuki for what it is.

Hello! I hope you're doing well. I wanted to share my experience with my Verona, which I purchased on 1/31/05. Unfortunately, I've had some issues with the engine light coming on and the engine needing to be replaced. Additionally, I've noticed some hesitation and jerking motions when I put the car in gear and press the accelerator. Despite going back to the dealer multiple times, the issue has not been resolved and I'm feeling frustrated. I understand that the dealer has told me the car is operating as it should, but I'm not satisfied with the performance. I'm hesitant to recommend Suzuki to others based on my experience. On a side note, I reached out to the manufacturer in California and unfortunately did not receive a satisfactory response. Thank you for listening to my experience.

I have been a proud owner of my 2005 Verona for several years now. Although, like a few other owners, I experienced the airbag light coming on shortly after purchasing it, which is still on today. However, until the 100k mile mark, I had no issues with this car. Unfortunately, my car is currently parked, and I am unable to drive it due to an unidentified issue. Despite losing oil and anti-freeze, nothing is ever found on the ground. Nevertheless, I am confident that I will be able to identify and resolve the issue soon. Overall, I am still satisfied with my decision to purchase the Verona.
