Common 2021 Porsche 718 boxster problems
The Porsche 718 Boxster, a high-performance roadster, has been praised for its excellent performance and lifespan as a vehicle. However, it has received a reliability rating of only 2.5 out of 5 from RepairPal, indicating that it tends to break down frequently and requires frequent maintenance and repairs.
One of the most common issues reported by owners of the Porsche 718 Boxster is premature engine malfunction and failure. This problem is particularly prevalent in the 1999 Porsche Boxster, where engine problems can become severe and lead to total engine failure. These issues can also be linked to bad components, such as a failing intermediate shaft bearing, which commonly happens with the 2003 model.
Another issue reported by owners of the Porsche 718 Boxster is related to the car's suspension, car battery, and engine. Many drivers have complained about these issues, which often require major and unforeseen repairs.
The 2017-present fourth-generation Boxster features two new engines, which are turbocharged four-cylinder powerplants that say goodbye to six cylinders for the sake of efficiency. While the loss of cylinders offers different engine sounds, the driving experience is not diminished. However, because this edition of the Boxster is so new, there’s no significant reporting about reliability issues.
In conclusion, while the Porsche 718 Boxster is a high-performance roadster with excellent performance and lifespan, it has received a reliability rating of only 2.5 out of 5 from RepairPal. Common issues reported by owners include premature engine malfunction and failure, suspension and engine problems, and car battery issues. These issues often require major and unforeseen repairs, and even Consumer Reports doesn’t have enough information to predict reliability for this era of Boxster. The 2017-present fourth-generation Boxster features two new engines, but there’s no significant reporting about reliability issues yet.

I've always dreamed of owning a car that's fast, powerful, agile, comfortable, and quiet on the road. I found all of these attributes in the Boxster GTS! Before purchasing this car, I test drove a Corvette GS, Mercedes C63S, Mercedes E53, and 911 4S Cabriolet, but none of them came close to giving me the feeling of closeness and quick reflexes that the Boxster GTS provides. It feels like a perfectly fitted leather glove and a part of me. Although I was considering buying a fully equipped E53 because of its luxury items and extra cargo space, it just didn't corner and move like the Boxster GTS. The Corvette GS was quick and sounded great, but it felt too big and like I was stuck in a bathtub. The C63S was powerful with an awesome engine sound, but it was too rough and unrefined in its movements. The Porsche 4S was quick, smooth, and moved with grace, but it just didn't feel as intimate and close-fitting as the Boxster GTS. The Boxster GTS is truly the sports car of my dreams!

Sublime handing, comfortable, much faster than expected, this is simply the best toy car I have ever owned. It's a shame that the dealer used my personal information to sell other cars, and I'm still fighting with credit agencies to get my good name back more than a year later. But overall, I'm really happy with my car!

The acceleration is much better than two models back and great at higher speeds too. The top speed of 170 mph with 0-60 in 4.9 seconds is impressive. I personally prefer stick over PDK, and those glorious cup holders are still there. There is enough space in both the back and front trunks, and the Bluetooth integration is easy to use. The garage door opener can also be programmed easily. I love the new body style, which looks more elegant, sporty, and aggressive. Although I don't have navigation, I find Siri via Maps to be a great alternative, and Sirius Satellite was free for three months, but I never renewed it as I didn't use it. It's important to be careful as the front air damn is extremely close to the ground, especially in driveways and dips. Unfortunately, I don't have break assist, and the only thing I regret not getting is automatic mirror retraction and side and rear view mirror dimming. The value of the car dropped precipitously at the year and a half marks, but this is expected in a new sports car. Overall, I think it's a work of art! Although I rated a lot of categories with

I have been a proud owner of a Boxster for 25 years now. Prior to this, I had three 911s, two 4S coupes, and one Targa S, all of which were great cars. I have had the Boxster for two years now, having bought it new. Unfortunately, the battery died less than 6 months ago and again yesterday. I was relieved to find out that the tire/wheel warranty covered the replacement of two tires. However, I was surprised to learn that the dealership had to wait for approval from Porsche in Germany to replace the battery, which was under warranty. As an owner/driver, I do not have control over the frequency of flat tires and failed batteries. I am sure you can understand my frustration with the situation. I have owned Hondas, Lexus, BMW, and many Mercedes, and never had to wait for approval to replace a part under warranty. In addition, they always had spare tires in stock. I am confident that Porsche values its loyal customers and I hope that this issue can be resolved in a timely and efficient manner. Despite this, I must say that the Boxster is a great car with smooth acceleration, great cornering, and simple and perfect controls. Thank you for your attention to this matter.
