The Nissan 370Z (known as the Fairlady Z Z34 in Japan) is a 2-door, 2-seater sports car (S-segment in Europe) manufactured by Nissan Motor Company. It was announced on October 29, 2006, and was first shown at an event in Los Angeles ahead of the 2008 Greater LA Auto Show, before being officially unveiled at the show itself. The 370Z is the sixth generation of the Nissan Z-car line, succeeding the 350Z. The 370Z marks the last production car with a naturally aspirated and high-rev V6 coupled to a manual transmission. The 2020 model year was the final model year for the 370Z. The line was continued by the Nissan Z (RZ34) on a modified version of the same platform.

Almost every piece and component of the 370Z has been redesigned from the previous 350Z. The wheelbase is 4 in (100 mm) shorter at 100.4 in (2,550 mm) and an overall length 2.7 in (69 mm) shorter at 167.1 in (4,240 mm). The overall width has been increased by 1.3 in (33 mm), the rear track by 2.2 in (56 mm), and overall height reduced by 0.3 in (7.6 mm). The smaller exterior dimensions and use of more lightweight materials helped reduce weight.
The 370Z features a front aluminum subframe, aluminum-alloy engine cradle, aluminum door panels, an all-aluminum hood, and an aluminum hatch. Front body torsional rigidity is improved by 10 percent with an extensively revised body structure, which includes a new front suspension cradle to reduce front body lateral bending, new rear structural reinforcements, and an underbody "V-bar" to help reduce rear lateral bending. Rear body torsional rigidity is improved by up to 22 percent and rear body vertical bending rigidity is improved by up to 30 percent. Additional enhancements include the use of a carbon fiber composite radiator housing and strengthening of the rear fender and hatch areas. The new structure weighs slightly less than the 350Z.
The 370Z uses a front double wishbone suspension, with forged aluminum control arms and steering knuckle. The rear multi-link suspension uses a forged aluminum upper control arm, lower arm and radius rod, the toe control rod is steel and wheel carrier assembly is aluminum. The refreshed 2013 model uses new dampers with the Sport package models. The brakes have been changed from the more expensive Brembo racing brakes to Nissan branded brakes which are manufactured by Akebono.
The coefficient of drag is 0.30 and 0.29 with the Sport Package, figures identical to the 350Z.

I got my Z Nismo in 2017. Because of the stiff suspension it can be rough at time but it is by far the best sports car I've ever own. The car is a joy to ride especially once you get used to the clutch. Its super reliable and starts up everytime.

POWER TRAIN PROBLEM

- Summary: The seal on the Clutch Slave Cylinder failed and contaminated the hydraulic system in the car. This prevented the car from being able to enter gear as the clutch could not be disengaged. This resulted in me being stuck in the middle of the road, unable to move the car unless I turned the car off, stuck it in gear, then started it up and gunned the engine at the same time. My car is a 2017, with only 31,000 miles on it. The dealership would not cover it under the power train warranty despite the fact that the CSC is located within the transmission casing and is an intrinsic part of the power train. Hydraulic cylinders are not a wear item. This should not happen at 31,000 miles. Nissan was no help and only recommendation was Service Bulletin SB-10051926-2342, which recommends swapping the clutch fluid for a higher temperature fluid. This only solved the problem for about a week before the Concentric Slave Cylinder failed completely. There is currently a lawsuit, Nguyen vs. Nissan North America, going through federal courts that in the process of discovery revealed through internal emails Nissan is aware that this failure is a result of a design flaw which makes it particularly susceptible to the kind of high temperatures developed inside the transmission. Please force Nissan to recall these parts. Its not right to have to pay 2000 dollars every other year to replace hydraulic cylinders in lightly used cars.

The 370Z has proven to be a reliable vehicle, with Nissan having worked out all the bugs by 2016. The Sport Tech model comes with all the bells and whistles one could need, and its handling is great with brisk acceleration and steering. The 370Z is the perfect evolution of the famous Nissan Z line. After taking the Z on a 2900 mile 4 day trip, cruising the Interstate at 80MPH or winding through the mountains of North Carolina, I can say that it performs flawlessly. Although the tires are somewhat noisy, the throaty exhaust easily compensates. However, I must say that I am extremely disappointed with the seats. Despite the vehicle's $40k price tag, both front seats are uncomfortable and mechanical, which is expected in a vehicle a third of the price. The seats are also so narrow that only a teenager could be comfortable in them. When I was shopping, I assumed that power memory seats were standard for the price and didn't even ask about them. Unfortunately, this was not the case. I was told that power memory seats weren't necessary in this type of sports car and that opting for manual seats saves space and weight. However, I believe that this is just a bean counter's way to cut costs. Every valet, car wash, and mechanic has to crank the seat to suit them, and it takes me forever to get the seat adjusted to my comfort again. Every other vehicle I've owned in the past 20 years has had power memory seats, which makes it easy to get back to my setting with just a push of a button. Even the 370Z Roadster has power seats.

After test driving several models, including the FRS, BRZ, and MX-5, we finally found the perfect car for us - the 2016 Magma Sport Tech. We're big fans of the old Datsun 240, and this car has everything we were looking for - great style, performance, power, ride quality, comfort, and an affordable price. We've received so many compliments on the color and style of our car! I know some people might think that the 370Z model is getting old, but don't let that discourage you from considering this car. It's a proven sports car that's an absolute blast to drive!

You've got yourself a fantastic sports car! The engine is amazing and sounds great at high RPMs. While there is some tire noise inside the cabin, this is to be expected from a sports car. The only downsides I can see are the gas mileage (26MPG) on the highway and the lack of power seats in the base model.

The 370Z, although getting long in the tooth, has been a capable competitor of the Mustang GT and early reintroduced Camaro. However, the current iterations of those previous competitors have surpassed the Z, but the baseline version of those cars still falls behind the Z. This leaves the Z in a weird place; it costs about the same as those improved cars but lacks the refinements those cars received with their respective updates. I owned a 300Z during my early college years and loved it - the gauges, the performance, the looks - the Z captured my attention. When the 350Z made its triumphant return to America, I was intrigued. The performance and look checked two boxes on my checklist, but unfortunately, the interior felt so cheap and bad that I left the dealer disgusted. I don't know how people justified the price when they were being sold an interior that Kia or Hyundai wouldn't put on their cars because it was too cheap. So I waited. Then the 370Z came along, the performance improved, and the interior was incredible (compared to the 350z). The only problem was that I was proudly driving an MKV GTi, so I waited. Once I had the money and driven my faithful GTi to 100k miles, I could justify the swap. I bought my 370Z - the trim, color, and options I wanted - and found one in the next largest town over. I argued all Saturday until a price was met that all sides could accept. I am tall, 6'1The rear hatch is not designed for storage. While you can fit a couple of small pieces of luggage for a weekend getaway, this car is not suitable for moving from one apartment to another, let alone a house. If you need to move stuff, it's best to rent a truck. I would recommend visiting other dealers instead of Nissan of Boerne in San Antonio. I had a bad experience with their sales rep and manager, and I shared my concerns with their customer care. If you're looking for a car that offers both performance and looks, with only 2 seats, then the Z might be a good option for you. However, if you're only interested in performance, the Z might not be the best choice as it needs an update. I still remember the smile I had while test driving it, and I continue to enjoy driving it every day.
