Common 2011 Mitsubishi Lancer ralliart problems
The Mitsubishi Lancer Ralliart 2011 is known for several common problems that have been reported by its owners.
- Paint Peeling: Another common issue with the 2011 Mitsubishi Lancer Ralliart is the paint peeling from the clear coat. This problem is not specific to Mitsubishi, but many car-makers have had trouble with clear-over-base paint finishes in Australia due to high levels of UV radiation. Once the top, clear coat has begun to discolour and peel, the lower, colour coat is usually compromised beyond salvation as well. Repainting either the entire car or the horizontal surfaces is the only real long-term solution.
- Engine Problems: The 2011 Mitsubishi Lancer Ralliart engines have several common problems. The front crankshaft oil seal may sweat with a run of more than 100 to 150,000 kilometers, which can disable the damper pulley of the drive belts. The ceiling ring of the exhaust pipeline often burns out, causing the Lancer to growl. The oxygen sensors may require replacement after 100 to 150,000 kilometers. An engine with a working volume of 1.5 liters for a 91 with a run of more than 100 to 150,000 kilometers sometimes starts to eat up oil due to the occurrence of rings. The scale of the problem is not as big as in the case of the base 1.5 valve clearance adjustment, but neglecting the procedure can lead to burnout of the valve .
- Manual Transmission Problems: The 5-speed manual gearbox installed on Mitsubishi Lancers with a 1.5 liter engine until 2008 had design defects and was not very reliable. Common faults include leaking drive seals, extraneous noise, and failure of the first gear synchronizer. Many owners of a Mitsubishi Lancer 10 with a manual transmission complain about a jerk when shifting from first to second gear or biting the shift leader lever in the first gear position .
- Recalls: The 2011 Mitsubishi Lancer Ralliart faced 3 major recalls. One of them was due to a problem with the drive belt that could cause the battery to deplete and the engine to stall, increasing the danger of an accident. The automated tensioner flange on the drive belt may split, causing the auxiliary drive belt to separate. This engine and engine cooling recall affected around 150,000 automobiles. Another recall was due to the blower motor failure, which could cause the windshield defroster’s function to suffer, reducing the driver’s sight and raising the chance of a collision. The visibility and overall operation of the defroster HVAC System, as well as the fan and motor, were harmed as a result. The blower motor in about 75,000 cars was recalled. Around 150,000 vehicles with specific engines were recalled due to the alternator, cooling fan, and power steering pump all facing issues.
In conclusion, the 2011 Mitsubishi Lancer Ralliart has several common problems that owners have reported. These include transmission issues, paint peeling, engine problems, manual transmission problems, and recalls. It is important for potential buyers to be aware of these issues and consider them when making a purchase decision.
