Common 2017 Lexus Rc f problems
The Lexus RC F, introduced in 2017, is a sporty high-performance coupe with a 5.0-liter V8 engine producing 467 horsepower and a 0-60 time of 4.4 seconds
. Despite its impressive specifications, the car has faced some common problems, which have been reported by owners.
- Ride quality: Although the ride is generally considered acceptable, some owners have reported that it could be better, particularly with adaptive dampers.
- Android Auto: A common gripe among owners is the lack of Android Auto compatibility, which requires an aftermarket upgrade costing around $1000.
- Brakes, tires, and gas mileage: The brakes, tires, and gas mileage of the RC F have been noted as concerns, particularly for those who drive the car aggressively or at the track daily.
- Resale value and market demand: The Lexus RC F has faced challenges in the market, with sales lagging behind its chief rival, the BMW 4 Series, by a ratio of roughly three to one since its introduction in 2015 . This has led to discounts at dealerships and a limited selection of 2017-2019 models available for purchase.
- Exhaust note and rear wing: Some owners have expressed disappointment in the exhaust note of the RC F, which may not be as aggressive as they had expected from a high-performance V8 coupe . Additionally, the rear wing, while offering a subtle design change when in the up position, may not provide significant functional downforce or enhance the car's style .
In conclusion, while the 2017 Lexus RC F offers impressive performance and a unique driving experience, it has faced some common problems related to its infotainment system, ride quality, and market demand. Prospective buyers should consider these issues and weigh them against the car's strengths when making their decision.
Is RC F reliable?
The RC F has been remarkably reliable, although there was a minor recall for 2020-2022 models that concerned a missing weight capacity on the tire label. 2016-2018 models were also recalled for a possibly faulty fuel pump.
Is 2017 Lexus RC 350 a good car?
Highs Stylish sculpted design, superb ride comfort, upscale and comfortable interior. Lows Tight back seat, disappointing acceleration, frustrating infotainment system. Verdict The Lexus RC excels in style and comfort, but it lacks the performance to match its looks.
What is the life expectancy of a Lexus RC car?
With proper maintenance, a Lexus car last around 250,000-300,000 miles. So, it indicates that the car can easily last for around 17-20 years. The normal lifespan of a car is around 150,000-200,000 miles. So, buying a Lexus car can be a very good investment.

Looking for a car that combines a masterpiece V8 with exceptional handling, acceleration, and curb appeal? The RC F is a world-class machine that delivers exceptional handling and performance. It can run head-to-head with the M4 and defeat the RS5. If you're looking for a car that can run 4.3 0-60 mph runs all day and climb to 176 mph in 40 seconds, this is the ride for you. Road & Track's Motown Mile had the RC F beating the M4 and RS5. The Motortrend Head-to-Head on the Streets of Willow had the M4 and RC F finishing in a near dead heat with Randy Pobst driving. The RC F is perfect for those who want to drive it to the office 363 days per year and on a track for 2 days per year. And if you just want a daily driver with a huge fun factor, this too is your ride. The RC F carbon TVD is a virtual slot car on hairpin corners and is faster than the Torsen, but either car will deliver the thrills and luxury. I wholeheartedly recommend the new RC F to any driving enthusiast!

Hi there! I just wanted to let you know that I still have the car and I'm actually saving it as a collector's item since it's from the first year of production. I recently changed out the battery after 4 years, which isn't too bad, and the car still runs great! I don't regret my purchase at all.

Powerful pickup, easy driving, lovely interior, and beautiful lines. It's been five years since I got the car, and I still love it. The only issue I have is that I'm short, so I have trouble seeing over the hood, which makes turning into a parking spot a little unnerving for me. But overall, it's a great car!

No unexpected repairs, sounds amazing, looks different and sexier than most competitors on the market. Rare as I haven't seen one in two years. Excellent in winter driving. Only issue is the infotainment system which you can easily upgrade using an aftermarket unit. Sounds amazing inside and out with just a muffler delete. What else do I need? I've been the owner for the last three years and have no plans of selling it in the near future. I absolutely love this beast!

This is the best car I have ever owned! It may not be a flashy street machine, but it is an absolute blast to drive, whether you're going slow or fast. Plus, at certain speeds, you can fly under the radar and go unnoticed, which is a bonus!
