UNKNOWN OR OTHER,SERVICE BRAKES,FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM PROBLEM

  • Date Of Incident: 2021-04-01
  • Number Of Injuries: 1
  • Crash: 1
  • VIN: JTHHZ5BC4K5
  • Components: UNKNOWN OR OTHER,SERVICE BRAKES,FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM
  • Summary: Traveling distance of 0.2 miles in a residential complex with 15 mph speed limit, on an uneven road that loops around. The road goes on a slight incline as it bends towards the left reaching my parking destination, a 2-car stall. At slow speed I made a right turn into the stall (a break-release-break maneuver) when the car lurched and suddenly picked up speed. Visualizing a wide pedal in the middle I hard-pressed the brakes with my right foot, same time thinking I should not pass the white post (about halfway of the stall) instinctively put my left foot over the right to press harder on the brakes. Next thing I know the car stopped and noticed white particles floating around. The airbags deployed - front, knee and side airbags activating roadside assistance (SOS). The engine would not start, and I can’t open the driver’s side door and window. The car crashed into the guardrail and right front wheel went over the concrete bump on the ground. I sustained chest and leg injuries. There is no other passenger, or third party involved. I did not hear or see any indication of system alerts or warnings before and during the incident. Car was totaled. While waiting for assistance and thinking about what happened it never occurred to me to wonder if I mistakenly stepped on the gas until the police at the scene brought it up. I had at least 3 lurching incidents on this vehicle, but the brakes worked. I could not replicate these incidents as it happened randomly.

VISIBILITY/WIPER PROBLEM

  • Date Of Incident: 2020-11-20
  • VIN: JTHHZ5BC9K5
  • Components: VISIBILITY/WIPER
  • Summary: WHILE DRIVING ON HIGHWAY 101 NORTHBOUND AT ABOUT 65 MPH BETWEEN 3RD AND DORE EXIT, I HEARD AN EXPLOSION OVERHEAD. I LOOKED AROUND AND DIDN'T SEE ANYTHING. BUT THEN I HEARD A WIND NOISE ABOVE ME. MY SUNROOF COVER WAS CLOSED AT THE TIME. IT WAS ABOUT 60 DEGREES OUTSIDE, AND I HAD BEEN DRIVING FOR ABOUT 35 MINUTES FROM SUNNYVALE. MY WINDOWS WERE NOT OPEN (SO NO PRESSURE CHANGE), AND NOTHING OUT OF THE ORDINARY WITHIN THE CAR. I WAS ON MY WAY TO SAN FRANCISCO FOR A COVID TESTING APPOINTMENT. I MADE IT TO THE APPOINTMENT, AND AFTERWARDS, ABOUT 20 MINUTES AFTER I HEARD THE INITIAL EXPLOSION, I PULLED OVER TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD AND ASSESSED THE DAMAGE. MY SUNROOF GLASS WAS GONE. NOT MUCH GLASS INSIDE THE SUNROOF COVER, AND THE GLASS THAT WAS STILL ON THE SUNROOF FRAME WAS BENT UPWARDS, INDICATING THE SUNROOF EXPLODED UP AND OUTWARDS, SO I DIDN'T THINK SOMETHING HAD HIT IT. PICTURE ATTACHED.

Negative 2019 Lexus Rc 350 car reviews

  1. Ignacio Kassulke 2024-09-15

Hello! I wanted to share my experience driving my Lexus in a snow storm on October 24, 2019, on my way to Oklahoma. Unfortunately, the blowing snow, freezing rain, and water from the road caused the front of my vehicle to freeze over, covering the sensors and rendering them useless. I had to stop every half tank of fuel to gently break the ice from the front of the vehicle. While I was surprised that my Lexus didn't perform as well as I expected in these conditions, I still believe it's a great car. I hope that Lexus will continue to improve their vehicles for all types of weather and road conditions. Thank you for listening to my experience! Best regards, Stanley C. Williams [contact info removed].

I have driven this car for 3 years with under 11k miles and have had to replace the front brake rotors from aluminum to steel due to a design defect. Additionally, I had to replace a rear shock due to a faulty part. Currently, the front facing A/C vents are not functioning properly, spewing cold air on the driver's side and hot air on the passenger side, even without dual climate control enabled. I have scheduled another trip to the dealership to address this issue.

This is a replacement for our 2013 Lexus GS 350. We've had the car for about three months now and I wanted to share some of my thoughts. First of all, I have to say that this car is visually stunning. I've had at least 100 people stop me to ask what kind of Lexus it is, and they all comment on how gorgeous it looks. I have the Ultrasonic Blue with playa interior, and the fit and finish of the interior are exceptional. The F Sport seats have the right amount of side bolstering for fast cornering. However, I do have a couple of gripes with this car. The engine is a bit underwhelming, and it seems to be tuned much less sporty than the one in the GS. Despite this, I have found lots to like about the vehicle over the years, such as its styling, reliability, and functionality. While there are still some issues that have persisted, such as bad fuel economy and a glitchy CPU for navigation, Lexus has somewhat addressed the fuel economy by introducing the 4-cylinder turbo RC. Knowing what I do now about this car, I would still purchase it again because it checks off many of the boxes for my needs, and there aren't droves of them on the streets like the BMW 4 series. It has been almost three years since I leased the RC350, and while technology-wise it may have aged a bit, the styling has held up well, and the overall mechanics of the car still work fine. If you're in the market for an RC, I would recommend searching around because there are some great deals out there.

  4. Garfield Mitchell 2024-02-21

The steering can be a bit challenging and the vehicle alignment may cause some issues, especially on wet surfaces. While some dealerships have stated that the car is within spec, I had a less than satisfactory experience with a few of them. However, I must say that Lexus of Tampa Bay went above and beyond to handle correcting the issue and pleasing a customer. Once corrected, the car has indeed been pleasing to drive and is definitely a head-turner. If you are a Toyota brand enthusiast, you may want to consider a V6 Camry or a Lexus IS and save some money. Overall, my experience has made me a one-time Toyota/Lexus brand buyer, but I appreciate the effort made by Lexus of Tampa Bay to make things right.

Positive 2019 Lexus Rc 350 car reviews

  1. Duncan Stanton 2025-01-05

This is my 5th Lexus. I have always found them to be exceptional, but this coupe is particularly enjoyable to drive. I test drove the 435, A5 and C300, all of which were very fine cars. However, for me, the Lexus once again proved to be the total package. While it may not be quite as fast as the BMW or the Audi, it is certainly fast enough for most people. The ride and handling are superb, and I have received many compliments on the car's appearance. Mine is in Infared and Playa.

  2. Rylan Gerlach 2024-11-08

I bought my 2015 Certified Lexus in 2017, and it's an F sport. The suspension, shift points, and throttle response are all changed, making it incredibly fun to drive. For me, 306 hp with the amazing 8-speed shiftable transmission is more than enough. The cockpit is beautifully lit at night, and the gauge package is superb, with digital MPH! I've had all the service done by my Lexus dealer, and it just received its 60k service. Overall, it's a truly amazing vehicle.

  3. Hilario Ruecker 2024-10-28

With this car, you'll actually look forward to driving somewhere. The color and exterior design are amazing, and you can't beat Lexus quality and engineering. The warranty is also one of the best in the business, so you can rest easy knowing it will last. The car is very fast when you want it to be, and if you want better gas mileage, just switch it to econ mode. What a cool car! It's the best one I've ever owned.

  4. Talon Muller 2024-10-15

The Lexus 350 RC is the best car I have ever owned. The performance, style, and drive are amazing. I have people stop me daily at red lights or in parking lots complimenting my gorgeous Lexus. Thanks Thompson Lexus for the honest salesman and the excellent service area! I won't buy anywhere else!

  5. Chris Ratke 2024-10-15

I bought this car to replace my GS350. I opted for the atomic silver color which looks really good on this vehicle. Even after 6 years, I still get positive comments from strangers who view it in parking lots. I love the reliability and it has adequate speed when I need to merge with traffic or need to pass someone in a short passing zone, particularly in sport mode. Snow mode worked well for me when I was caught in a surprise blizzard and had to climb a steep hill on the way home from work. Although the back seats are really small, I like that I can pull them down to expand my trunk area. The entrance to the trunk area is small, so I can't always fit large boxes into the trunk. However, overall, I love the car and would buy it again. The ride is sporty and I average about 22.5 mpg.
