Common 2015 Lexus Is 250 problems
Based on complaints from owners of the Lexus IS 250 2015, common problems with this car include:
- Exhaust Gasket Failure: This issue is a relatively easy and cheap fix that is usually covered under warranty. It involves the exhaust gasket failing, which can lead to issues with the exhaust system.
- HVAC Blower Motor Replacement: Some owners have reported having to replace the HVAC blower motor, which can cost around $600 with parts and labor. While this repair is not uncommon, it's essential for maintaining proper heating and cooling functions in the car.
- Navigation System Failure: The navigation system in the 2015 Lexus IS 250 has been a concern for some owners. When this system malfunctions, it can be a costly repair, approximately $5,000. This problem was reportedly addressed in the 2015 model, indicating that earlier models may have been more prone to this issue.
- Carbon Build-Up: Like many cars with direct injection engines, the Lexus IS 250 is susceptible to carbon build-up. This can lead to misfires and engine damage if not addressed promptly. Regular maintenance and cleaning can help prevent this issue.
- Low Ground Clearance: Owners in areas with rough roads, like NYC, have raised concerns about the low ground clearance of the Lexus IS 250. This can result in the car scraping the bottom frequently, potentially causing damage to the undercarriage.
- Entertainment System Malfunction: Some owners have experienced issues with the entertainment system freezing and rebooting randomly. While this problem may not affect the car's performance, it can be a frustrating issue for drivers and passengers.
These common problems highlight the importance of regular maintenance and thorough inspections when considering a used Lexus IS 250 2015. Addressing these issues promptly can help ensure a smoother driving experience and prevent more significant problems down the line.

The usable space in the console design is my biggest complaint, especially considering that I bought a 'sports' car. The USB ports would have been better placed on the dash or nav area instead of the console. However, the car rides smoothly and maneuvers exceptionally well. Although it sometimes hesitates when you need to accelerate, it is still manageable. I am currently researching new cars for my next purchase and have found that other brands offer the same features as Lexus without the high price tag. The gas mileage of this car is quite disappointing, and I believe that a turbo 4 cylinder engine could provide the same response while consuming less fuel.

Literally the perfect vehicle for anyone. I've driven my Lexus for 110k miles with zero issues, and it still drives better than most brand new vehicles. My friend also has a Lexus is250 AWD, which is one year older (06) and has 239k miles on it. It is still his daily driver, and he has no regrets or thoughts of selling it.

I've been driving my IS250 F-Sport for exactly two months now and it has been an absolute thrill! Whether you're someone who enjoys speeding or heading to the track frequently, the extra power of the 350 would be a great benefit. However, for everyone else, the 250 provides plenty of power. The steering is tight and nicely weighted, making for a great driving experience. The fuel economy is incredible, with an average of 24-25 mpg even with 60% city driving. The driving dynamics are very comparable to the E90 BMW 3-series (2006-2011), which is a great achievement. While the current F30 BMW 3-series doesn't feel as sporty, the IS250 F-Sport definitely holds its own. As for the exterior styling, it may take some time to grow on you, but I personally think it is one of the best-looking cars I've seen!

The car is fantastic! It has many improvements compared to the previous model, which in my opinion was already good. In the driving department, it is a lot better than the current 3 series, especially in sports mode. The interior comforts and IT in the car are top-notch compared to European cars. The quality of building is typical Lexus and from a design point of view, it is very innovative (untypical for Lexus... and I would say untypical for BMW, MB, Audi). I love the exterior styling, though I understand that this is a matter of personal preference.

Incredibly reliable, with a smooth ride and lots of power (if you want it). It comes with all the bells and whistles and a super quality interior.

The car looks great and handles like a sports car. However, the interior is nothing special and there is not much room in the back seats. The trunk space is average. On the bright side, Lexus customer service is unmatched and the best in the business. That being said, I would recommend doing your homework and test driving the car before making any decisions. If you're interested in a Lexus, consider the IS300 or 350 and try to negotiate a better deal. Overall, Lexus is a great company with great cars.

I purchased this vehicle after owning a 2006 250 IS. I really enjoyed the first model and was sad to let it go, but this car is not bad either. However, I did experience some issues with the rear tires having significant premature wear due to a suspension defect that the dealership did not disclose. Unfortunately, they blamed me for overinflating the tires, which was not the case. It's a shame that nowadays, people tend to avoid taking responsibility for their actions. I had to call for a service when I ran over a nail that deflated the tire, but I had only owned this pre-owned car for a year and put 8k miles on it, and the tires went from a '7' tread to a '2'. These Michelin Tires are guaranteed for 35k miles, but I only got 8k out of them. I am disappointed with the Lexus dealership and will not do business with them again. It seems like they care more about making a profit than the safety of their passengers and being honest about their vehicles.

I hope you're doing well! I wanted to share my experience with my 2014 IS250-Fsport. When I was shopping for entry-level luxury sedans, I checked out a few different options, but the IS250-Fsport really caught my eye. I absolutely love the style of both the exterior and interior, and I'm generally quite happy with the performance - especially when I put it in sport mode! The braking is also phenomenal. However, I have been experiencing a bit of an issue with a rattling sound on the driver's side that seems to be coming from somewhere within the dashboard. Unfortunately, the dealership has attempted to find the source of the rattle four times now, but they haven't been able to fix it. It's starting to happen on the passenger side as well, which is really frustrating. It sounds like I have plastic CD cases in the door pocket that rattle constantly, and not even turning up the radio can mask the sound. I was a bit surprised by this, as I thought Lexus was known for its smooth, quiet ride. I'm still hopeful that we can find a solution, but I have to admit that I'm a bit disappointed. This is my first Lexus, and I'm not sure if I'll be purchasing another one in the future.

The exterior is stunning, but the engine power could be improved. Additionally, the paint is thin and chips easily, and there are some clunky brake noises on the f-sport.

If you're looking for a car that's beautifully designed, reliable, and carries the prestige of the Lexus name, this one is definitely worth considering. However, if you're looking for the driving dynamics of a BMW, you may be disappointed with the Lexus IS 250. It's not a sports car, nor is it a luxury Lexus - it's something in between.
