2019 Infiniti Qx80 problems

The Infiniti QX80 (formerly called the Infiniti QX56 until 2013) is a full-size luxury SUV marketed by Nissan's luxury division Infiniti. The first-generation QX56 was built in the United States and is based on the first-generation Armada. The second-generation model was released in 2010 as a model produced in Japan, which used the sixth-generation Patrol (later also marketed as the second-generation Armada since 2016) as the base vehicle instead. Since the 2014 model year in 2013, the vehicle was renamed to the QX80 as Infiniti renamed their entire product line under a new nomenclature.
First generation (JA60; 2004)
The first-generation QX56 (model code JA60) is based on the first-generation Armada, while also sharing the F-Alpha platform with the first-generation Titan. It is the first Infiniti built in the United States. The QX56 was only marketed in the United States, Canada, Russia, Oman, Bahrain, Qatar, UAE, Kuwait and Saudi Arabia. Development on the JA60 QX56 began in early 2000 alongside the WA60 Armada. A final design by Masato Takahashi was reached in early 2001, with an August 2001 design freeze for early 2004 start of production.
The rear door handles were installed on the C-pillar as a Nissan design tradition started with the D21 Pathfinder released in 1985 to visually make it appear like a two-door truck with a camper shell, with conventional door handles on the front doors.
The first-generation QX56 was powered by a 5.6-liter VK56DE V8 engine (320 hp (239 kW) at 4,900 rpm and 393 lb⋅ft (533 N⋅m) torque at 3,600 rpm) and a 5-speed automatic transmission with an overdrive. As is common with aluminum blocks, each cylinder in the engine was lined with cast iron. The valvetrain was a DOHC design with four valves per cylinder. Infiniti designed the QX56's throttle responsiveness to correspond to specific drivetrain modes: when the driver selects all-wheel drive, the throttle becomes less sensitive, presumably to allow easier regulation of acceleration when off-road.
The QX56 had around 9,000 lb (4,082 kg) of towing capacity. Mileage at peak performance drain is 12 miles per US gallon (20 L/100 km; 14 mpg‑imp). It comes in one trim level, with only key options such as: DVD entertainment system, 4WD/2WD, and a bench instead of captain chairs as the second row. Other features which came standard were a ten-speaker Bose system, DVD-based navigation system, leather trim for all seats, dual-climate control, 18-inch chrome alloy wheels, and an adaptive cruise control system. A Precrash system was a unique feature in the market as well.
Since the demise of the Q45 (which was priced above the QX56) after 2006, the QX56 was the most expensive Infiniti sold in North America and was Infiniti's only full-size vehicle.
In early 2007 for the 2008 model year, the Infiniti QX56 received a minor facelift which included a revised grille, a redesigned interior, a new intelligent key system, more standard equipment, new third-row seats that fold electronically and standard 20-inch chrome wheels. Introduced at the 2007 North American International Auto Show in January 2007, the facelifted model went on sale in April 2007.
After the 2010 model year, the QX56 and Armada no longer share the same body, as the first-generation Armada continued to be produced in the United States until the 2015 model year, while the second-generation QX56 switched to the body used by the Y62 Patrol.

Common 2019 Infiniti Qx80 problems
The Infiniti QX80, a luxurious and spacious SUV, has been reported to have several common problems by its owners. These issues include transmission problems, starting problems, starter-related concerns, suspension and ride quality concerns, infotainment system glitches, and electrical issues.
Transmission problems are one of the most frequently reported issues with the Infiniti QX80. Some owners have experienced rough shifting, delayed engagement, and in severe cases, complete transmission failure.
Starting problems have been a concern for some Infiniti QX80 owners. Drivers have encountered difficulties starting their vehicles, experiencing issues like the engine not cranking, slow cranking, or intermittent starting problems. These issues can often be traced back to components such as a weak battery, faulty starter motor, or a defective ignition switch. To ensure reliable vehicle starts, it is crucial to maintain the battery and regularly check the charging system.
Starter-related problems are closely linked to the starting issues experienced by some QX80 owners. The starter is a crucial component responsible for engaging the engine when the ignition is turned. Signs of a faulty starter may include clicking noises when turning the key, no response from the engine, or intermittent starting problems. Ignoring starter issues can lead to complete vehicle breakdowns. If you suspect any problems with the starter, it is advisable to have the starter system inspected by a qualified technician and replaced if necessary, thus ensuring reliable vehicle operation.
Another common problem with the Infiniti QX80 is related to the vehicle's suspension system and ride quality. These problems can manifest as excessive bouncing, vibrations, or noises when driving over bumps or rough roads. Worn-out suspension components or misaligned wheels can cause these issues. Regular suspension system inspections and timely replacements of worn-out parts can help maintain the QX80's ride quality and prevent further damage to other components.
Infotainment system glitches are also common in the Infiniti QX80. Some owners have reported issues with the infotainment system, such as freezing screens, Bluetooth connectivity problems, or unresponsive touchscreens. These glitches are typically software-related and can often be resolved through software updates and patches released by the manufacturer. It is essential to keep the infotainment system up-to-date, and if necessary, visit an authorized Infiniti service center for any required software fixes.
Electrical issues have been reported by some Infiniti QX80 owners, including battery draining problems. These issues can be intermittent and can come without warning. For those living in cooler or warmer climates, this can also be potentially dangerous as faulty electrical components can affect such systems as your vehicle’s heating or air conditioning. One QX80 owner in Florida stated that the forward emergency braking system continuously engages the brakes without warning or an obstruction.
In conclusion, while the Infiniti QX80 is a luxurious and spacious SUV that offers both luxury and performance, it is essential to be aware of common problems with the Infiniti QX80 that may arise. Transmission issues, starting problems, starter-related concerns, suspension glitches, infotainment system glitches, and electrical issues are among the most frequently reported concerns by QX80 owners. Should you encounter any of these problems, it is best to consult with a qualified mechanic or visit an authorized Infiniti service center for diagnosis and resolution. By taking proper care of your Infiniti QX80, you can maximize its potential and enjoy the luxury and comfort it offers for many years to come.

ENGINE PROBLEM
- Date Of Incident: 2023-08-01
- VIN: JN8AZ2NE0K9
- Components: ENGINE
- Summary: This car has the SAME issue as explained in NHTSA Bulletin ITB17-008c for 2017-2018 year Infiniti QX80's but Infiniti will not diagnose and fix. Instead they are seeking nearly $4k in repair work. The torque converter should last up to 200k miles and my car started having this issue around 65k miles. Ive escalated to Infiniti HQ and they will not listen to my complaint and continually are telling me there is not a recall. This recall needs to be put into place for model year 2019, the issue is NOT fixed!

ELECTRICAL SYSTEM PROBLEM
- Date Of Incident: 2020-09-19
- VIN: JN8AZ2NF3K9
- Components: ELECTRICAL SYSTEM
- Summary: I HAVE HAD THIS VEHICLE FOR A LITTLE OVER A YEAR AND SINCE APRIL, I HAVE BEEN STRANDED IN DIFFERENT PLACES. THE REASON IS BECAUSE I WOULD GO TO GET IN MY CAR AND THE BATTERY WAS COMPLETELY DEAD. THE FIRST TIME THIS HAPPENED, THE DEALERSHIP SAID IT WAS A RECALL ISSUE THAT THEY CLAIMED TO FIX. THIS HAPPENED AGAIN 3 MONTHS LATER, AT NIGHT WITH MY BABY AT THE GROCERY STORE. I WENT TO GET INTO MY CAR AND BATTERY WAS DEAD YET AGAIN. TOOK IT THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY TRIED TO TELL ME IT WAS MY FAULT BECAUSE I DON'T DRIVE IT ENOUGH. MIND YOU, I DRIVE MY VEHICLE EVERY SINGLE DAY TO WORK AND TO DAYCARE ETC. AFTER FIGHTING WITH THEM FOR A WEEK, THEY FINALLY FIXED IT, OR SO I THOUGHT. TODAY, I WENT TO MY SONS SOCCER GAME AND GUESS WHAT, BATTERY DEAD YET AGAIN! I HAVE NEVER IN MY LIFE HAD AN ISSUE LIKE THIS. THIS IS AN 80,000 VEHICLE AND COMPLETELY UNACCEPTABLE TO HAVE HAD THIS HAPPEN 3 TIMES IN 6 MONTHS. I BOUGHT THIS CAR FOR SAFETY PURPOSES FOR ME AND MY BABY, AND IT IS LITERALLY THE EXACT OPPOSITE OF WHAT I NEEDED. I HAVE BEEN STRANDED WITH MY BABY 3 TIMES!!! THIS VEHICLE IS AN ABSOLUTE JOKE AND I BEG ANYONE READING THIS TO NEVER PURCHASE IT! I WILL BE SPEAKING TO AN ATTORNEY REGARDING LEMON LAWS. I WANT MY MONEY BACK AND I WILL NEVER PURCHASE AN INFINITI AGAIN.

SERVICE BRAKES PROBLEM
- Date Of Incident: 2020-03-13
- VIN: JN8AZ2NF9K9
- Components: SERVICE BRAKES
- Summary: THE 2019 QX80 FORWARD EMERGENCY BREAKING SYSTEM (FEB) CONTINUOUSLY ENGAGES THE BRAKES WITHOUT WARNING OR AN OBSTRUCTION. ALWAYS WHILE A RAILROAD CROSSING IS IN SITE, SOMETIMES WHEN A REDLIGHT IS NEAR BUT (GREEN) WITH NO VEHICLES STOPPED AT IT. IT HAS ALSO DONE IT ON AN OPEN HIGHWAY & INTERSTATE AT SPEEDS OF 70 MPH WITH NOTHING AROUND. THIS CAUSES A VERY REAL CHANCE OF BEING REAR-ENDED, OR STARTELING THE DRIVER INTO CRASHING.
ELECTRICAL SYSTEM PROBLEM
- Date Of Incident: 2020-04-20
- VIN: JN8AZ2NE7K9
- Components: ELECTRICAL SYSTEM
- Summary: MY WIFE IS IN QUARANTINE WITH OUR DAUGHTER IN OREGON. DRIVES THE QX80 EVERY 2 OR 3 DAYS, TO GO TO THE STORE FOR FOOD. QX80 STARTED UP JUST FINE, DROVE IT TO THE STORE AND PARKED IT. 35 MINUTES LATER, CAME OUT OF THE STORE WITH PERISHABLE GROCERIES, THE BATTERY WAS TOO WEAK TO START IT. HAD TO BE JUMP STARTED. SEEING THAT OTHERS ARE HAVING THE SAME ISSUE. CALLED THE DEALERSHIP ABOUT THE ISSUE. THEY CLAIM THERE IS A RECENT RECALL THAT MAY HELP WITH THE ISSUE. NO RECALL IN THE SYSTEM, BUT NOTICES FROM INFINITI SERVICE ON THIS POSSIBLE FIX OF REPROGRAMMING AN ELECTRICAL MODULE. PER THE LAST COMPLAINT, IT DOESN'T FIX IT. I CALLED THE DEALERSHIP, THEY ARE AWARE OF THE ISSUE. I WAS TOLD THAT DUE TO ALL THE ELECTRONICS IN THE CAR, THERE IS A LARGE DRAW ON THE BATTERY FROM ELECTRONICS AND A LOT NEEDED FOR START UP. WAS TOLD THE QX80 HAS TO BE DRIVEN FOR LIKE 30 MINUTES AFTER YOU START IT UP, JUST TO CHARGE THE BATTERY FOR WHAT DRAW IT TOOK TO START THE ENGINE. ALSO BEING TOLD THE QX80 IS NOT MEANT TO SIT WITHOUT BEING DRIVEN FOR A WEEK OR LONGER, AS THIS CAN CAUSE THE BATTERY TO DRAIN ENOUGH IT WILL NOT START. SO I USED THE EXAMPLE THAT I CANNOT LEAVE THE QX80 AT THE AIRPORT IF I WAS FLYING OUT AND GOING ON VACATION FOR A WEEK. THEY RECOMMENDED THAT I DO NOT DO THAT. ALSO RECOMMENDED THAT IF THE QX80 IS GOING TO SIT FOR SEVERAL DAYS, THAT I CAN PURCHASE AND HOOK UP A BATTERY CHARGER/MAINTAINER TO THE BATTERY. THIS WAS NOT SOMETHING TOLD TO ME WHEN I BOUGHT IT, DID NOT READ IT IN ANY VEHICLE INFO. PURCHASED A $90K VEHICLE AND I HAVE TO POP THE HOOD, RUN AN EXTENSION CORD TO AND DEPEND ON A $40 BATTERY CHARGER TO KEEP IT RUNNING. THIS IS NOT ACCEPTABLE FOR ANY VEHICLE. IF I WANTED A VEHICLE THAT I HAD TO CONSTANTLY PLUG IN AND CHARGE, I WOULD HAVE PURCHASED AN ELECTRIC CAR.
ELECTRICAL SYSTEM PROBLEM
- Date Of Incident: 2020-04-03
- VIN: JN8AZ2NF1K9
- Components: ELECTRICAL SYSTEM
- Summary: I HAVE BEEN STRANDED NUMEROUS TIMES WITH THIS VEHICLE. SOME BATTERY GREMLIN OR ELECTRICAL GREMLIN. BROUGHT TO THE SHOP AND THEY SAID THERE WAS A RECALL THAT WAS FIXED. I WENT TO THE STORE 2 DAYS LATER , CAME OUT WITH $400 WORTH OF GROCERIES AND GO TO START MY TRUCK AND NOTHING . BLINKING FLASHING ELECTRIC GLITCHING . IT TOOK 15 MINUTES OF JUST TRYING TO JUMP IT OFF!!! ANNOYING AND DANGEROUS !! OBVIOUSLY THE RECALL IS NOT FIXING THE ISSUE WITH THIS TRUCK .
UNKNOWN OR OTHER,VISIBILITY/WIPER PROBLEM
- Date Of Incident: 2019-12-18
- VIN: JN8AZ2NE2K9
- Components: UNKNOWN OR OTHER,VISIBILITY/WIPER
- Summary: THE CAR'S REARVIEW CAMERA HAS NO VISIBILITY WHEN IT'S NIGHTTIME OR DARK OUTSIDE. THE REARVIEW CAMERA MONITOR IS ALMOST PITCH BLACK AND TOO GRAINY. SIDEVIEW CAMERA ALSO SHOWS NO VISIBILITY (EVEN THOUGH THE CAR COMES WITH THESE FEATURES) AND CHANGING BRIGHTNESS/CONTRAST SETTINGS DOES NOT RESOLVE THE PROBLEM. DURING THE DAY, THERE'S VISIBILITY, BUT AT NIGHT, THE MONITOR IS BLACK AND GRAINY. THE DEALERSHIP'S MAINTENANCE DEPARTMENT HAS NOT RESOLVED THE PROBLEM WHEN CAR WAS BROUGHT FOR MAINTENANCE JUST 45 DAYS AFTER LEASING THE NEW VEHICLE. INFINITI'S CONSUMER AFFAIRS WAS CONTACTED AND THEY HAVE NOT RESOLVED THE PROBLEM AS WELL. THIS CREATES A HUGE SAFETY HAZARD AS WHEN THE SUN GOES DOWN, NOTHING IS VISIBLE IN THE MONITOR WHEN BACKING UP.
ELECTRICAL SYSTEM PROBLEM
- Date Of Incident: 2020-02-05
- VIN: JN8AZ2ND0K9
- Components: ELECTRICAL SYSTEM
- Summary: ON THREE OCCASIONS THE BATTERY IN MY 2019 QX80 HAS DIED FOR NO APPARENT REASON. THE CAR IS A 2019 AND THE BATTERY DIED 8 MONTHS, 10 MONTHS AND NOW 13 MONTHS AFTER PURCHASING IT BRAND NEW. EACH TIME THE CAR HAS DRIVEN FINE IN THE MORNING ON MY WAY TO WORK BUT WHEN I TRIED TO TURN IT ON TO HEAD HOME IT DIDN'T START. I WAS INITIALLY TOLD IT WAS A BAD BATTERY AND THEN TOLD IT WAS AN ALTERNATOR ISSUE. I HAVE TWO YOUNG CHILDREN AND AM NOW SCARED TO DRIVE THEM IN OUR FAMILY VEHICLE OUT OF FEAR OF BEING STRANDED AGAIN.
SERVICE BRAKES PROBLEM
- Date Of Incident: 2019-01-19
- VIN: JN8AZ2NE8K9
- Components: SERVICE BRAKES
- Summary: 2019 INFINITY QX80 LIMITED 4 X 4--FAULTY AUTOMATIC BREAKING SYSTEM!!! CAR WOULD EMIT A BEEP BEEP BEEEEEEP AND THEN THE AUTO BRAKING SYSTEM WOULD ENGAGE AND CAUSE THE CAR TO COME TO AN ABRUPT STOP. THIS OCCURRED WITHIN THE FIRST 1000 MILES OF DRIVING AND CONTINUED FOR THE DURATION OF OWNERSHIP. THE CAR STOPPED ON THE FREEWAY ACCESS ROAD (35 MPH), STATE HIGHWAY 6 (50 MPH) IN RUSH HOUR TRAFFIC...., SIENNA PARKWAY (45 MPH), 290 (65 MPH) AND TURNING INTO DRIVEWAY (5 MPH). IT WAS INCONSISTENT, AND THERE WERE NO OBSTRUCTIONS (MOVING OR SEDENTARY) TO CAUSE THE SENSORS TO INITIATE THE BRAKES. IT WAS VERY DANGEROUS. I AM WRITING THIS SAFETY COMPLAINT, AS I HAVE CONCERNS THAT NISSAN IS NOT REQUIRED TO REPORT ISSUES IF THEY DO A VOLUNTARY BUY BACK. WE INITIATED A LEMON LAW CLAIM WITH NISSAN NORTH AMERICA. THEY WERE PROFESSIONAL AND QUICK TO RESPOND. THEY BOUGHT THE CAR BACK EXACTLY ONE YEAR FROM THE DATE OF PURCHASE. THE VEHICLE HAD 14,000 MILES AND WAS IN IMPECCABLE CONDITION. I WORRY THAT SOMEONE ELSE MAY BUY THE VEHICLE AND/OR THE ISSUE MAY GO UN-REPORTED. I HAD A PROBLEM FINDING ANY SIMILAR COMPLAINTS, WITH EXCEPTION TO THE MASS RECALL OF THE ROGUE IN CANADA FOR WHAT APPEARS TO BE A SIMILAR ISSUE (SAME PARENT COMPANY). ADDITIONALLY, THE 2020 MODEL WAS RELEASED AND DID LOOK TO ADDRESS OTHER ISSUES WITH THE VEHICLE (SCREEN/TECHNOLOGY), BUT NOT SURE IF THEY SAFETY ISSUE REGARDING THE BRAKES ENGAGING ON THEIR OWN WAS ADDRESSED.
ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM PROBLEM
- Date Of Incident: 2019-12-23
- VIN: JN8AZ2NE9K9
- Components: ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM
- Summary: WENT TO START CAR AFTER IT WAS SITTING OVER NIGHT (AND TEMPERATURE HAD DROPPED) AND IT WOULD NOT START, REQUIRING A JUMP. NOTHING WAS LEFT ON OVERNIGHT. CAR REQUIRED JUMP START TWO MORE TIMES UNTIL I WAS ABLE TO TAKE TO DEALER. I WAS TOLD IT WAS A DEFECTIVE BATTERY AND BATTERY WAS EXCHANGED. THREE WEEKS LATER, AFTER STOPPING FOR GAS AT 5AM ON WAY TO WORK, CAR WOULD NOT START AGAIN. AGAIN NOTHING HAS BEEN LEFT ON. CAR IS CURRENTLY DEAD IN MY DRIVEWAY. IT IS A 2019! ALSO, THE DOOR COVERING MY GAS CAP NO LONGER OPENS, REQUIRING IT TO BE PRIED OPEN.
VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL PROBLEM
- Date Of Incident: 2019-06-20
- VIN: JN8AZ2NE9K9
- Components: VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL
- Summary: THE CRUISE CONTROL DOES NOT WORK GOING DOWN A HILL. IT WORKS ON A LEVEL ROAD. IT WORKS GOING UP A HILL. I SET IT AT SAY 50 MPH ON US ROUTE 30, BOSWELL, PA GOING DOWN A HILL AND WITHOUT APPLYING THE BRAKES THE VEHICLE WOULD BE GOING 60 MPH AT THE BOTTOM OF THE HILL. THIS IS DANGEROUS. DEALER TOLD ME NOT TO USE THE CRUISE CONTROL GOING DOWN A HILL!
2019 Infiniti Qx80 recalls

We recently upgraded our Acura MDX to a more spacious vehicle and decided on the 2017 QX80. It has been a great choice for us so far. We were pleasantly surprised by how maneuverable it is, especially compared to our previous vehicle. Despite its size, it handles well and doesn't feel like a truck. The cabin is comfortable and quiet, and even my wife, who was initially hesitant about the larger size, has grown to love driving it. The QX80 feels more like a mid-size SUV and easily accommodates six passengers. Access to the third row seating is a breeze thanks to the second row seats. Since my wife and I are both working from home more frequently, we find ourselves preferring to drive the QX80. Our daughter will soon be inheriting the MDX, and we are already considering getting another QX80. This is our first Infiniti, and we have been thoroughly impressed with the vehicle's solid performance and the excellent service we have received from the Infiniti dealership. The storage space is excellent, especially with the third row down, and the Bose sound system is a nice touch. While the MP3 USB utilization is a bit outdated with old FAT table limitations, it works fine if you structure the music library accordingly. We opted not to get the full entertainment system package, but I was able to get the front to play AVI with some tech know-how for the video formatting. However, I find streaming from my iPad to be more efficient. The only downside is the gas consumption, which is slightly worse than our previous MDX, but I doubt it's worse than any other V8 in its class. I get about 12.5-13.5mpg around town, but it does much better on the highway. Overall, we love our QX80!

This is my fifth INFINITI product, and I have had many of their smaller cars and SUVs in the past, and I have always been very happy with them. I decided to get something bigger for family use so that we could travel comfortably, and I am so glad that I did! The ride quality and interior are excellent, and the safety systems work great! Reliability is one of the reasons why I keep coming back to the brand, as all of my INFINITI products have been flawless! This is a very comfortable long-distance cruiser, and the rear seat entertainment is easy to use. The heated/cooled seats work quickly, and the leather quality is good and resistant to discoloration (I have the wheat-colored quilted leather). Overall, the only downside is that the technology is badly outdated, but it still does the basics. Gas mileage is predictable for a large naturally aspirated V8, and the sound it makes is great with strong, smooth acceleration! Overall, I would buy this excellent luxury family do-everything proper (truck-based) SUV again!
-
The vehicle's cruise control functioned at 55 mph, but unfortunately only achieved 13 mpg on flat terrain. When encountering small hills, the car abruptly shifted to a lower gear, causing the engine to roar. Additionally, getting in and out of the vehicle was difficult and it drove and rode like a truck. The instrumentation was counter-intuitive and in need of a technology upgrade. Overall, I would not want to have to set the mirrors and seat in a dark rental lot.

Awesome vehicle with all the bells and whistles you need in a Large SUV and more

After the dealer made the major repairs my vehicle needed, I'm really pleased with it. I've had it for about a year now and so far it's been great. I'm planning to take it out on the highway this summer, so we'll see how it goes!

If you're looking for a stylish and comfortable vehicle to move people or tow something, this is a great option. However, if you're someone who enjoys weekend trips to the cabin with all your gear and family, this may not be the best fit for you. I previously owned a 2008 QX56, which was one of the best vehicles I've ever owned. It was incredibly comfortable, versatile, and had plenty of storage space. Comparing it to the QX80, I noticed that the storage areas in and around the cabin are smaller. The rear storage cu. ft. is reduced, and it's not as easy to remove the 2nd row center console for pet beds or to put long items in through the rear. Additionally, the rear seats don't fold completely flat, which can be inconvenient for storage. Infiniti also reduced the hideaway storage in the back, which was useful for storing things like trailer hitches and straps. Some other design choices, like putting the heated steering wheel button in a hard-to-reach spot, seem a bit odd. The rear entertainment system only has one HDMI input, which means that kids can only watch one thing at a time from their phones or other devices. Finally, the oversized knob for switching into 4wd is located by the shifter, while the control knob for the menu system on the dash is harder to reach. Overall, the QX80 is a great vehicle, but it may not be the best fit for everyone's needs.Removing the trailer hitch cover could be made easier with some re-engineering. The performance is impressive, with substantial power and great fit and finish. While the shifting may not be as smooth as expected, it is still manageable and something to get used to. Getting in and out of the vehicle may not be as easy as the old QX56, and the seat adjustments and smaller mirrors can make backing up with trailers a bit more challenging.

It's great to hear that you find the vehicle both aesthetically pleasing and functional. It sounds like you put in a lot of effort to ensure that it was running smoothly, and it's wonderful that some of the issues have been resolved. It's clear that you have a lot of affection for the vehicle, and we hope that it continues to serve you well.
Johnpaul Buckridge 2024-10-22
My review is negative because of the car quality, not the overall company. However, I had a great experience with the local dealer here. I'm very disappointed with the QX80 2018. The quality of the backup camera and the 360-degree cameras is by far the worst in the car market. It looks like a camera from 10 years ago. The car also consumes too much gas. I'm averaging 11 miles in the city and 13.5 in the highway. I had big engine cars all my life, and this car is the worst in that department. When you pay over 75k for a car with a normal backup camera, you would expect better quality. That's my biggest complaint with the car. At night, you can't even see anything.
Nils Ernser 2024-08-19
This SUV is quite large, but unfortunately, the front seat falls short in terms of legroom. As a tall female, I found that the lack of thigh support caused discomfort in my hips, knees, and back. Additionally, the lumbar support is positioned too low, which results in it cupping your back instead of supporting the lumbar arch. It's a pity that these issues detract from the otherwise smooth ride of the car. In hindsight, I wish we had opted for the Tahoe or Yukon instead.
Vernon Botsford 2024-08-09
I bought this SUV in December 2019, used with only 1200 miles on it. According to the seller, the previous owner was a nurse who had to park in a parking garage every day, which is why she sold it. However, I'm starting to wonder if she just didn't like it as much as I do. I agree with other reviews that the cruise control is concerning. On the slightest incline, the RPMs rev and stay up until the incline has passed, causing the car to jerk and the engine to be extremely loud. The backup camera at night is also terrible! I can't see anything out of it. Of course, the Infiniti shop says it's normal. The technology in this car is not user-friendly. My previous car was a Honda Odyssey, and to me, its front panel was easy to navigate and just made sense. Nothing about this Infiniti's control panel makes sense. I've had the car for over a year now and still haven't figured it all out. Then there are the little things that drive me crazy daily. The front cupholders are too big, which is a huge design flaw. Every time I accelerate, the cups fly forward, and I have to hold them as I pull out into traffic. I've asked Infiniti if they sell inserts, but unfortunately, they do not. They did say that this is a common complaint. I don't understand how the 2nd row cupholders have adjustable cupholders and not the front! The 3rd row seats are on a switch, and they are SO SLOW to fold down or bring up. I also don't like that they don't fold flat. Lastly, the 2nd row seats don't move, which I didn't notice when shopping for the car. I wish I would have. The 2nd row is so roomy for your passengers, but if you have to put adults in the 3rd row, they have to sit with their knees sideways. To me, that's another huge design flaw.
