2015 Gmc Acadia problems
The GMC Acadia is a crossover SUV manufactured by General Motors for its GMC division. The first-generation GMC Acadia shared the GM Lambda platform with the Saturn Outlook, the Chevrolet Traverse, and the Buick Enclave. The Acadia went on sale in 2006 as a 2007 model in the United States, Canada and Mexico. The Acadia replaces three of the 7- or 8-seater vehicles on the Buick-Pontiac–GMC dealership network, the midsize GMC Safari van, the GMC Envoy, and the Pontiac Montana SV6 minivan for the domestic market. As of 2009, the Lambda vehicles have replaced the Buick Rainier, Buick Rendezvous, Buick Terraza, and the GMC Envoy XL and then subsequently the GMC Envoy, Chevrolet TrailBlazer and the Isuzu Ascender. A Denali version of the Acadia debuted for 2011. In 2017, the second generation Acadia was repositioned as a mid-size crossover utility vehicle in order to compete within the growing midsize SUV market against the likes of the Ford Explorer, Edge, and the Jeep Grand Cherokee.
First generation (2007)
The Acadia represents GMC's entry-level truck-like CUV and is the first unibody vehicle from the marque. It is also GMC's first front-wheel drive passenger vehicle, and also the first such vehicle of any kind since the 1973-78 GMC Motorhome.
The Acadia has seating for eight and either front or all-wheel drive. With a 5,200 lb (2,359 kg) towing capacity, the Acadia slots between the GMC Terrain and the Yukon. The Acadia is the mid-priced Lambda model between the Chevrolet Traverse and Enclave.
In December 2006, all production and sales of the Acadia (and the Saturn Outlook) were temporarily stopped due to the engine mounts not having holes drilled to release accumulated water, as well as an issue with potentially faulty rivets in the load floor just forward of the vehicle's rear hatch. The assembly process was quickly adjusted, and dealership sales of the vehicles had resumed within days of the notice.
The first-generation Acadia was sold alongside its second-generation replacement as the Acadia Limited.

- VIN: 1GKKVTKD6FJ
- Components: AIR BAGS
- Summary: My vehicle is involved in GM safety recall N232404980. I received a letter dated June 2023 from GMC informing me of the recall. On 3/6/24, I contacted GMC to inquire when I could expect to have my vehicle repaired. No timeline could be provided. I sent and email to NHTSA with my concern over the time lapse in the vehicle repair. In an email from NHTSA, I was given a GMC phone number to call to get a timeline for the repair. GMC is unable to provide me with a timeline. I think I have waited long enough and have driven a dangerous vehicle too long. Why can I not at least get some idea of how much longer I will have to wait. I understand that I can receive serious injury or even die from this problem. I would like my vehicle repaired soon.

AIR BAGS PROBLEM
- Date Of Incident: 2024-02-29
- VIN: 1GKKVTKD7FJ
- Components: AIR BAGS
- Summary: I am writing a complaint in reference to the already issued recall number 23v334, for the acadia's and their airbags. It states that if the remedy is not taken care of or whatever the wording about a timely manner, to reach out and this recall was issued in May after already being aware for some time, and now we are approaching the one-year Mark and they still have absolutely no remedy available for the Acadia and they are Slow Rolling each model out to save money. I am literally driving around with a ticking time bomb in front of my face with the potential to kill me according to its own wording and according to the own manufacturer reading back the identical wording while they're telling you that they have no option available there is no new airbag that they have worked on in the 8 plus months since recall, and there's literally nothing I can do to ensure my safety so I am officially lodging another complaint for the safety of this already known issue that is not been remedy and whereas there appears to be no active and serious engagement and producing something. This is completely unacceptable and something needs to be done about it as there are plenty of people out here with the same potential Hazard right in front of them each and every day they're entering this vehicle.

This is a fantastic vehicle! It offers the most head and legroom in the midsize class, and has a great body style similar to a Durango or Explorer but bigger. The interior is made with quality parts, and even shutting the door you can hear the sturdiness of this vehicle. It truly offers a car-like ride, and I've had it for almost two years with no problems, aside from a blown tire. You sit high with great safety ratings and lots of visibility. Even the low trims look great with leather dash and stitching. The back up camera with sensors and trajectory is awesome, and the automatic on and off lights with pretty LED headlamps are a nice touch. The slight hesitation in the transmission turning low speeds is just a quirk from reviews I've read. Overall, GMC got this vehicle right!

The Acadia is a good vehicle, but with the Denali Trim, it becomes a great vehicle. You'll notice added features everywhere that make the car even better. Personally, my favorite feature is the heads up display.
-
I bought this vehicle to haul my full size bicycle, and while building a house I was able to haul a lot of lumber. It's really spacious inside, and I love that it can fit up to seven passengers. It's perfect for carrying all my family and friends!
-
Hi there! I'm happy to hear that your device is still running great after 8 years!

The headrest adjustment in the car is causing extreme discomfort for both myself and my 6' passenger, despite my attempts to adjust it. The design of the seats seems to be more suited for individuals with a larger body type. The discomfort has resulted in pain in my neck, upper back, and thoracic area. It is clear that the current design is not suitable for our needs and adjustments need to be made.

I purchased a 2015 Acadia SLT in March 2018 with 75,000 miles on it. As it was not a new car, I expected to have some occasional repairs. Unfortunately, right off the bat, the transmission was slipping between 2nd and 3rd gear, causing the RPMs to jump between 1,000 and 1,500. It was quite jarring, as it felt like slamming on the brakes. Fortunately, it was still under the now-defunct 5-year, 100,000-mile warranty. I had some issues getting it fixed under warranty, but that's a story for another time. The AC has also been problematic during the last few years of ownership, and the car has had some issues with bearings. Despite these issues, I believe that GM could have made a really great vehicle with this car. However, I will likely turn to another car manufacturer before buying another GM product from 2015 or newer.

At 38,000 miles, the engine light on our 2015 Arcida turned on. Upon inspection, it was discovered that the oil was at least a quart low and was due for a change. We encountered a similar issue with our 2009 Terrian. Despite arguments with GM, we decided to trade in the Terrian for the Arcadia. It is important to note that small engines from GMC may not be the best option.

Hi there! I hope you're doing well. I wanted to share our experience shopping for an SUV that could tow our 4500 boat. We almost went with the Acadia, but after looking at the competition, we decided on the 2015 Dodge Durango Limited. It offered so many more options for the money and had better towing capacity. Plus, it scored higher in the Consumer Report ratings. We're really happy with our decision!
