2013 Ford E-350 problems
The Ford E-Series (also known as the Ford Econoline, Ford Econovan or Ford Club Wagon) is a range of full-size vans manufactured and marketed by the Ford Motor Company. Introduced for 1961 as the replacement of the Ford F-Series panel van, four generations of the model line have been produced. Marketed for both cargo and passenger transport configurations, the E-Series has been designed with multiple design variations for both retail and commercial sale, including vans, and commercial-grade cutaway van chassis and stripped chassis (a chassis without bodywork).
With over 8.2 million units sold since 1961, the Ford E-Series is the third-best selling van line in history (outranked only by the Ford Transit and Volkswagen Transporter). Ford retired the E-Series passenger and cargo vans after 2014, replacing them with the Ford Transit. As of current production, the E-Series remains offered exclusively in cutaway and stripped-chassis configurations. In 2021, the model line entered its 60th year of production (becoming the second current Ford line to do so).
The E-Series (cutaway/stripped chassis) is assembled by Ford at its Ohio Assembly facility (Avon Lake, Ohio), which has produced the model line since 1975. Prior to its closure, Lorain Assembly (Lorain, Ohio) assembled the model line from 1961 to 2005.

Common 2013 Ford E-350 problems
The 2013 Ford E-350 Super Duty is a reliable vehicle, but like any other vehicle, it has its share of common problems. The most frequently reported issues by owners of this vehicle are related to the AC/heater, engine, and transmission.
AC/Heater Problems:
The most common problem reported by owners of the 2013 Ford E-350 Super Duty is related to the AC/heater system. The problem is that the AC/heater system may not work as expected, and it may not blow hot or cold air as required. This problem may be caused by a faulty blend door actuator or a clogged heater core. The blend door actuator is responsible for controlling the direction of the airflow, while the heater core is responsible for heating the air. If the blend door actuator is faulty, it may not open or close properly, causing the air to blow in the wrong direction. On the other hand, if the heater core is clogged, it may not be able to heat the air properly, resulting in a weak airflow or no airflow at all.
Engine Problems:
Another common problem reported by owners of the 2013 Ford E-350 Super Duty is related to the engine. The problem is that the engine may run roughly or experience misfires. This problem may be caused by a faulty ignition coil or spark plugs. The ignition coil is responsible for generating the high voltage required to create a spark, while the spark plugs are responsible for igniting the fuel. If the ignition coil is faulty, it may not be able to generate enough voltage, causing the engine to run roughly or misfire. Similarly, if the spark plugs are worn out or fouled, they may not be able to ignite the fuel properly, causing the engine to run roughly or misfire.
Transmission Problems:
The third most common problem reported by owners of the 2013 Ford E-350 Super Duty is related to the transmission. The problem is that the transmission may shift hard or delay shifting. This problem may be caused by a low transmission fluid level or a faulty transmission solenoid. The transmission fluid is responsible for lubricating the transmission and allowing it to shift smoothly, while the transmission solenoid is responsible for controlling the flow of transmission fluid. If the transmission fluid level is low, it may not be able to lubricate the transmission properly, causing it to shift hard or delay shifting. Similarly, if the transmission solenoid is faulty, it may not be able to control the flow of transmission fluid properly, causing the transmission to shift hard or delay shifting.
In summary, the 2013 Ford E-350 Super Duty is a reliable vehicle, but it has its share of common problems. The most frequently reported issues by owners of this vehicle are related to the AC/heater, engine, and transmission. These problems may be caused by various factors, including faulty blend door actuators, clogged heater cores, faulty ignition coils, worn out or fouled spark plugs, low transmission fluid levels, and faulty transmission solenoids. If you own a 2013 Ford E-350 Super Duty and experience any of these problems, it is recommended that you take your vehicle to a qualified mechanic for diagnosis and repair.

STRUCTURE PROBLEM
- Date Of Incident: 2022-10-17
- VIN: 1FBSS3BL9DD
- Components: STRUCTURE
- Summary: The passenger doors on the back of this van do not latch properly. Oddly enough almost EVERY Ford Model from this year has a recall for the same door latches-but not this model. I'm not sure why this hasn't been recalled except that maybe because there are less of these model Fords on the road-less reports have been made.
SUSPENSION PROBLEM
- Date Of Incident: 2022-08-10
- VIN: 1FBNE3BL2DD
- Components: SUSPENSION
- Summary: I purchased this lift kit based on multiple reviews including personal friends. After install, I have had to undergo four alignments with no resolution. Multiple mechanics have confirmed that the kit is defective. I have been in contact with the manufacturer but they have stopped responding to me. They freely admitted to my alignment shop and myself that they do not use any jigs or templates to build these kits. They are modifying stock I-beams which clearly and obviously dictate in forged letters to not modify. I have asked for a fix or resolution and WeldTech is no longer responding. I have initiated a chargeback on my card. This kit poses a significant safety risk in that it causes the vehicle to not track straight or true requiring constant correction. Even a momentary lapse in attention could result in crossing lanes or into shoulders or ditches putting the driver and occupants and other vehicles on the road at risk.

THESE NEED TO BE FIXED, REPLACED, OR TAKEN OF THE ROAD AS DANGEROUS. I HAVE BEEN WORKING ON THIS MYSELF FOR OVER A YEAR TO GET FIX AND FIND THE PROBLEM BEFORE SOMEONE DOES GET INJURED OR KILLED. I WOULD LIKE TO TALK TO SOMEONE ABOUT GETTING THEM RECALLED, THAT IS THE ONLY WAY THE BODY COMPANY WILL TAKE CARE OF THE PROBLEM. UTILIMASTERS SOLUTION IS TO CONTINUE TO REPLACE THE TIRES AND DO FRONT END ALIGNMENTS EACH TIME WHICH I HAD INITIALLY TRIED AND THE TIRE WEAR IS NO BETTER. BASICALLY THE WEIGHT OF THE PACKAGES IS ON THE SHELVES ON THE OUTSIDE OF THE BODY AND THE TRUCKS ARE DRIVING ON THE TIRE EDGES NOT FLUSH TO THE ROAD. I CAN DOCUMENT EVERYTHING. *TR

STEERING,SUSPENSION,SERVICE BRAKES PROBLEM
- Date Of Incident: 2013-11-01
- VIN: 1FTSS3EL2DD
- Components: STEERING,SUSPENSION,SERVICE BRAKES
- Summary: I RECENTLY PURCHASED THIS BRAND NEW FORD E350 VAN. IF YOU TAKE YOUR HANDS OFF THE WHEEL FOR A SECOND THE VEHICLE DRIFTS INTO THE RIGHT LANE. ALSO WHILE BRAKING YOU IF YOU DO NOT HOLD THE WHEEL IN THE STRAIGHT POSITION THE VEHICLE VEERS AND DRIFTS TO THE RIGHT. IN A PANIC STOP IT IS VERY DANGEROUS AND IS A SAFETY HAZARD. ALSO WHEN YOU ARE BRAKING YOU ACTUALLY CAN FEEL THE VEHICLE DRIFTING, VEERING AND PULLING TO THE RIGHT WHEN YOU ARE HOLDING THE STEERING WHEEL. WHAT BROUGHT THIS TO MY ATTENTION WAS A PANIC STOP THAT ALMOST CAUSED ME TO CRASH INTO A GUARD RAIL. ANOTHER ISSUE IS THE TRANSMISSION FEELS AS THOUGH IT IS SLIPPING, FORD ALSO SAYS THIS IS NORMAL WHEN A VEHICLES TRANSMISSION GETS HOT. I AM AFRAID OF ALL THESE THINGS WITH THE STEERING, BRAKING AND THE TRANSMISSION. MY FEAR IS A CRASH DUE TO THE STEERING AND BRAKING AS WELL AS GOING TO ACCELERATE AND THE TRANSMISSION SLIPPING CREATING A COLLISION. FORD DENIES THAT THERE IS ANYTHING WRONG AND SAYS IT IS TOTALLY NORMAL THAT ALL VEHICLES DO THAT. I HAVE BROUGHT THIS VEHICLE WITH THESE ISSUES BACK TO THE DEALER NUMEROUS AND THEY SAY THEY HAVE MADE ADJUSTMENTS AND THINGS ARE ONLY GETTING WORSE. MY FIRST INCIDENT WAS ON THE WAY HOME FROM THE DEALER THAT THE VEHICLE SEEMED TO BE ALL OVER THE ROAD. I HAVE REQUESTED A FORD FIELD ENGINEER COME OUT AND GO FOR A RIDE WITH ME SO THEY CAN SEE EXACTLY WHAT IS HAPPENING, AND I WAS TOLD THAT FORD MOTOR CO WILL NOT APPROVE AN ENGINEERING VISIT, THAT THIS IS TOTALLY NORMAL. MY PARENTS HAVE THE EXACT THE VEHICLE, MAKE, MODEL AND SERIES AND THAT VEHICLE STAYS COMPLETELY STRAIGHT AT ALL TIMES. *TR

2013 Ford E-350 recalls
The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) has issued 8 recalls for different components of the 2013 Ford E-350.
- Manufacturer: New England Wheels
- Components: EQUIPMENT ADAPTIVE/MOBILITY
- Summary: New England Wheels (New England) is recalling certain model year 2006-2014 Ford E-250, E-350, and 2015 Ford Transit vans equipped with certain model S2005, S2010, S5005, S5010, S5505, and S5510 wheelchair lifts by Ricon. The platform side plate of the affected wheelchair lifts may crack. Additionally, the lifts are equipped with folding link arms that may have pivot holes that are too big, allowing the bearings to move out of position.
- Consequence: If the platform side plates crack or the platform mounting fails from out-of-position bearings, the lift platform can separate from the lift and come to rest against the vehicle's lift door. When the vehicle's doors are opened, the platform may fall onto the lift operator, increasing their risk of injury.
- Remedy: New England will notify owners, and Ricon dealers will inspect the link arms for damage or for displaced bearings. The platform will be inspected for cracks. Any damaged parts will be replaced, free of charge. The recall began on June 29, 2016. Owners may contact New England customer service at 1-800-886-9247. New England's number for this recall is 16E-020.
