For the 1995 model year, the Tahoe and Yukon gained a new, longer four-door model, slotting in size between the two-door models and the longer-wheelbase Chevrolet/GMC Suburbans.
The Tahoe is sold in North America, parts of Asia such as the Philippines, and the Middle East, plus other countries including Bolivia, Chile, Peru, Colombia, Ecuador, and Angola as a left-hand-drive vehicle. The Yukon is only sold in North America and the Middle East.
The Chevrolet Tahoe and GMC Yukon are part of General Motors' full-size SUV family and are differentiated from the similar Chevrolet Suburban and GMC Yukon XL primarily by the length of the passenger and cargo area behind the C-pillar. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO ANOTHER INDEPENDENT MECHANIC (TIRE KINGDOM, SEBASTIAN, FLORIDA) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE TIRES NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE TIRES WERE REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURES. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 123,250.

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) has issued 7 recalls for different components of the 2005 Chevrolet Tahoe.
- Manufacturer: Monroe Truck Equipment
- Components: ELECTRICAL SYSTEM
- Summary: Monroe Truck Equipment (Monroe) is recalling certain model year 2006, 2008 and 2009 Chevrolet C7500 vehicles, 2005-2006 Chevrolet Tahoe vehicles, and 2009 Ford F-350, and F-450 vehicles, equipped with Sure Power-brand battery equalizers or DC-DC converters containing a particular epoxy sealing, aka 'potting', compound. The specific potting compound used in the subject products for insulation was found to be capable of conducting electricity after being exposed to heat.
- Consequence: Once electrically conductive, the material is capable of melting and burning, increasing the risk of a fire.
- Remedy: Monroe will notify owners, and Sure Power will replace the equalizers or converters, free of charge. The recall began on March 24, 2014. Owners may contact Monroe at 1-608-328-8127.

- Consequence: WHEEL SEPARATION CAN RESULT IN A VEHICLE CRASH.

IN EITHER CASE, IN THE EVENT OF A CRASH THAT REQUIRES AIR BAG DEPLOYMENT, A FRONT PASSENGER'S LEVEL OF INJURY MAY BE INCREASED.

Congratulations on your purchase of a 2005 Tahoe LS with only 60k miles! It sounds like you really fell in love with it. This versatile vehicle is perfect for both family and work, and even looks great when you're taking your wife out on a date in a classy part of town. Despite its low MPG (15.5 no matter what), the 5.3 engine was extremely reliable and made driving a pleasure. You even took it across the country multiple times and never felt fatigued after 12 hour days. With all its features, it's no wonder you never got tired of owning it. I've been waiting a long time to be able to buy a Tahoe, and I'm not disappointed. However, the CD player stopped working recently and OnStar did not work when new. I'm happy to say that the dealer service and satisfaction has been excellent and way more than I expected.

OnStar is one of the best features, and the air conditioner is amazing! You even added 20-inch wheels and tinted the driver and passenger windows, as well as a DVD player for the kids. This vehicle has had several issues, including a leak in the radiator and transmission after 3 years of use, a malfunctioning instrument cluster, and a faulty rear window motor. Despite being an expensive vehicle to purchase and maintain, it is still enjoyable to drive. However, with over 140k miles and being over 5 years old, it has become quite loose. In comparison, I have owned an all-wheel-drive Passat which handled better in the snow and did not have as many issues. Overall, while this vehicle has had its challenges, it still has its positive aspects.
