The Chevrolet S-10 is a compact pickup truck produced by Chevrolet. It was the first domestically-built compact pickup of the big three American automakers. When it was first introduced as a "quarter-ton pickup" in 1981 for the 1982 model year, the GMC version was known as the S-15 and later renamed the GMC Sonoma. A high-performance version of the latter was released in 1991, called "Syclone." The pickup was also sold by Isuzu as the Hombre from 1996 through 2000, but only in North America. There was also an SUV version, the Chevrolet S-10 Blazer/GMC S-15 Jimmy. An electric version was leased as a fleet vehicle in 1997 and 1998. These models are sometimes internally referred to as the S/T series to denote two and four wheel drive models respectively (similar to the full size Chevrolet C/K trucks) despite all versions being badged with 'S' nomenclature.

In North America, the S-series was replaced by the Chevrolet Colorado, GMC Canyon, and Isuzu i-Series in 2004.

The S-Series ended production in Brazil in 2012, being replaced by the Chevrolet Colorado, but still with the name S-10.

Negative 1994 Chevrolet S10 car reviews

  1. Olen Quigley 2024-05-03

I have owned over 20 vehicles in my life, but unfortunately, this one has been the worst so far (and I owned a Pinto). I bought this truck new - LS 4x4, auto, cruise etc. I maintain the vehicle very well and don't drive it hard at all. Unfortunately, some things have broken under warranty (towed to dealer 5 times under warranty) such as the battery, radio, fuel pump, door misadjusted and wore paint off jamb, front end part wore and car wouldn't track straight. And then, under my cost, I had to replace the fuel pump for $725, oil cooler line for $600, intake manifold gasket for $600, and hydraulic lifter failure for $650. All service parts are expensive (it's cheaper to fix my BMW 540). I am disappointed with my experience and will consider other options in the future.

Positive 1994 Chevrolet S10 car reviews

  1. Abelardo Runte 2024-10-03

Love your truck! It's great to hear that you're enjoying your 1994 base model work truck. It's impressive that it runs so well and the modifications you've made sound really cool. It's clear that you're a big fan of the S10 and I'm sure you'll have many more in the future!

  2. Jaylan Gulgowski 2024-09-19

Hi there! I hope you're doing well. I just wanted to share my experience with this truck. I actually bought it to use as a 'Beater', which means it's perfect for towing a utility trailer, hauling mowers and trash, and so on. This way, I can put fewer miles on my Honda HRV. I've always wanted a truck that can handle things like bikes and kayaks, and this one is great for that. Plus, it helps my good vehicle retain its value. I'm really happy with my purchase, especially since it's worth more than what I paid for it. I might even sell it someday for a profit!

  3. Ezekiel Balistreri 2024-08-24

It ran really great! I'm glad to hear that you didn't experience any problems.

  4. Adrian Crona 2024-08-15

I'm so glad to hear that you love your S10! Despite a few issues with the sensors and fuel pump, it's impressive that your truck has lasted 14 years and 178,000 miles. Even living in the north east, there's very little rust. While the mileage isn't the best at 16mpg on the road and 12mpg around town, it's great to hear that the truck has only left you stranded once. Plus, it's fantastic in the mud and has a very comfortable ride.

  5. Jabari Reilly 2024-06-14

I just got this truck and I'm already having lots of fun with it! I absolutely love the truck, it was worth every dime, I think.
