HE CONCLUDED THAT THE BATTERY WAS DEFECTIVE AND REPLACED IT ALLOWING US TO CONTINUE OUR TRIP. UNFORTUNATELY THIS EXACT SAME ISSUE RECURRED ON JUNE 21, 2014 WHILE DRIVING AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS IN THE DALLAS, TX AREA AND AGAIN, TWICE, DRIVING AT APPROX. 40 MPH IN FRISCO, TX ON JUNE 23, 2014. THE LOCAL DEALER SERVICED THE VEHICLE ON THOSE DATES AND REPLACED THE NEGATIVE BATTERY CABLE. - Summary: General Motors LLC (GM) is recalling certain model year 2011-2012 Cadillac Escalade, Escalade ESV, Escalade EXT, Chevrolet Avalanche, Silverado HD, Silverado LD, Suburban, Tahoe, GMC Sierra LD, Sierra HD, Yukon, and Yukon XL vehicles. In the affected vehicles, the ignition lock actuator may bind, making turning the key difficult or causing the ignition to get stuck in the "Start" position.
- Consequence: If stuck in the "Start" position, the ignition may suddenly snap back into the "Accessory" position, causing a loss of engine, steering, and braking power, increasing the risk of a vehicle crash. If the vehicle is in a crash, the air bags may not deploy, increasing the risk of occupant injury.
- Remedy: GM will notify owners, and dealers will inspect and replace the ignition lock housing, as necessary, free of charge. The recall began on February 12, 2015. Owners may contact GM customer service at 1-800-458-8006 (Cadillac), 1-800-222-1020 (Chevrolet), or 1-800-462-8782 (GMC). I've owned several Escalades over the years...this one has given me no issues or problems whatsoever. It runs and handles like a much smaller vehicle... Cadillac did a superb job on this particular vehicle.

I just bought a new ESV and I absolutely love it! It's a pleasure to drive and has great comfort. The only downside is the sound, but that's only because it has a Bose sound system. If you're looking for a car, I highly recommend this one :)

I purchased my first Escalade back in April of 06. Although I have enjoyed many of its features, I have encountered some issues and design flaws. For instance, the DVD player is located under the seat which makes it difficult to stretch your legs without accidentally kicking it. Additionally, the wireless headphones broke easily and the third row is not very spacious, making it suitable only for babies and toddlers. The legroom is also quite limited and there is an excess of plastic. Sometimes, the DVD player won't turn off and the second row seats can be quite loud when you let them down. Despite these issues, the performance is outstanding and the interior quality is great.

The 2007 Escalade ESV was purchased as an upgrade from our Durango and we were initially thrilled with it. However, we encountered a series of issues starting from the day after we signed the purchase agreement. Despite experiencing problems with the keyless remote start, heated seats, air conditioner, tire pressure module, and rear heat, we have persevered with the vehicle for the past three months. Although it has been in the shop for over 30 days on 9 different occasions, we remain confident in our decision to purchase the Escalade ESV. We believe that these issues can be resolved and we are committed to ensuring that our vehicle is in top condition.

This is a very capable car overall. It has excellent cargo capacity and third row room, which is especially important for a family of 8 and three dogs, all of which fit comfortably. Although it lacks a third row that folds flat, which is crucial in its class, it is still a good car overall. The only downside is that it doesn't have one-touch windows, which can be a bit annoying. However, the GL has this feature but is not as roomy.

The vehicle has several issues that require attention. The latches on the center console do not work, the cup holders are difficult to open, and the heated seats are not functioning. Additionally, the trailer hitch cover does not stay fastened, the rubber on the side of the luggage rack is coming off, and there is black insulation showing between the front bumper. The passenger side door handle is also partially detached. The OnStar system makes a strange noise in winter, the driver's side seat motor is failing, and the oil level light remains on even after resetting it following an oil change. The engine is also quite loud, and the battery has tested bad. Finally, there is rust between the front and rear doors, and the factory remote start has limited range.

Firstly, I must say that the SUV looks absolutely stunning on the road. The design is beautiful and eye-catching. However, we have experienced some issues with the vehicle. Unfortunately, it has been in the shop more times than we can count. We have learned to wait until a few things need fixing before taking it in. Additionally, the wind noise can be quite loud on windy days, which may not be ideal for those seeking a quieter ride. We have been disappointed as we paid a lot for this vehicle. I am an avid Escalade cheerleader and have owned one for seven years. Recently, I decided to buy the 2007 model. However, I was disappointed with the interior as the soft plush seats were replaced with flat and uncomfortable ones. Maneuvering it in tight parking spots can be a bit challenging. Although it comes with great features such as 22s, navigation, XM radio, and two DVDs, it's important to have a good base package. In my opinion, the 2007 Escalade is not a true Cadillac. If you're looking to buy one, I suggest saving your money and buying a 2003-2006 model of Escalade. I promise you won't be disappointed!
