1992 Bmw 735i problems
The BMW E32 is the second generation of the BMW 7 Series luxury cars and was produced from 1986 until 1994. It replaced the E23 and was initially available with straight-six or V12 powerplants. In 1992, V8 engines became available. From its inception, the E32 was among the most technologically advanced series of cars in its day.
The E32 introduced numerous features including adaptive suspension (EDC), traction control, two available wheelbases (i and iL), and dual-zone climate control. The E32 750i was the first car adhering to "gentlemen's agreement" amongst the German manufacturers limiting maximum speed to 250 km/h (155 mph).
Other automotive passenger vehicles features introduced with the E32 included: projector lens headlamps (1986); double glazing windows (1991); HID (Xenon) headlamps (1991).
E32 also introduced BMW's first V8 engine since the BMW 501/502, last produced in 1962, and their first V12 engine, which was also Germany's first post-war V12 engine for a passenger vehicle.
In 1994, the E32 was replaced by the E38, a clear evolution of the E32.

Common 1992 Bmw 735i problems
The 1992 BMW 735i is known to have several common problems, primarily related to the clutch, cooling system, and engine stalling.
- Cooling System: The cooling system of the 1992 BMW 735i is another area that is prone to failure. The radiator, in particular, is known to have issues with the plastic body breaking around the top hose connection. This problem can cause a weep around the hose that is difficult to trace, leading to overheating and potential engine damage.
- Engine Stalling: The 1992 BMW 735i is also known to have issues with engine stalling. This problem is often caused by debris clogging up the fuel pump intake screen, leading to intermittent stalling. This issue can be resolved by regularly cleaning or replacing the fuel pump intake screen.
- Steering System and Suspension: The BMW E32 has a great deal of weight over the front wheels, especially when braking. It also seems to have a resonant frequency that occurs between 50 and 60 MPH, if there is any weakness it is at this speed where the problems will occur. The shimmies can be repaired, often very simply.
- Rust: Rust is a common problem with all cars, and the 1992 BMW 735i is no exception. This problem is especially prevalent in the UK, where the car is more likely to be exposed to wet and salty conditions.
In summary, the 1992 BMW 735i is known to have several common problems, primarily related to the clutch, cooling system, engine stalling, steering system, suspension, and rust. Regular maintenance and inspections can help prevent these issues from becoming major problems, but it is essential to be aware of these common issues when purchasing or owning a 1992 BMW 735i.

ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING PROBLEM
- Date Of Incident: 2002-02-20
- VIN: WBAGB4310ND
- Components: ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING
- Summary: CAR OVERHEATED, CAUSING THE TOP RADIATOR HOSE TO FAIL AND ALSO THE THERMOSTAT TO FAIL AS A DIRECT RESULT OF THE RECALL. THE DEALER REFUSES TO FIX THIS PROBLEM. I FEEL THIS IS THERE RESPONIBITY TO FIX THE FAILURES. THE $466.30 IS THERE ESTIMATE.*AK
LATCHES/LOCKS/LINKAGES PROBLEM
- Date Of Incident: 2024-11-24
- Components: LATCHES/LOCKS/LINKAGES
- Summary: WHILE DRIVING AT STATE SPEED THERE WAS A NOISE COMING FROM RIGHT HAND SIDE OF VEHICLE AND WITHOUT WARNING FRONT RIGHT DOOR AND REAR RIGHT DOOR OPENED.*AK
ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING PROBLEM
- Date Of Incident: 2024-11-24
- VIN: WBAGB4311ND
- Components: ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING
- Summary: I ENDED UP TO REPLACE EVERY COMPONENT IN THE COOLING SISTEM OF A TOTAL COST APROX. $ 2500 AND LATER ON I FOUND HERE ON THE NET THAT THE 735I'S HAVE A RECALL ON THEIR COOLING SISTEM. AFTER ALL THE REPLACEMENTS IN THE ENGINE COOLING SISTEM , MONTHS AFTER, I RECEIVED A NOTE FROM THE BMW DEALERSHIP ABOUT THE RADIATOR CAP. TO LATE. I ALLREADY LOST MORE THAN 2500USD IN REPAIRS. MY QUESTION IS: CAN I GET A REFUND FROM THE BMW MANUFACTURER FOR ALL THE LOSES ? I HAVE ALL THE RECEIPTS FROM MY MECHANIC.THANK YOU. *AK
ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING PROBLEM
- Date Of Incident: 1995-04-10
- VIN: WBAGB4312ND
- Components: ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING
- Summary: RECALL #98V-178 REPLACES THE RADIATOR CAP BECAUSE THE COOLING SYSTEM IS NOT ROBUST ENOUGH TO HOLD THE PRESSURE OF AN OVERHEATED ENGINE. BMW STATES THAT THE RESULT CAN BE A RUPTURED HEATER CORE AND POSSIBLE HOT COOLAND EXPELLED ON THE DRIVERS LEGS AND STEAMED WINDOWS OBSCURING VISION. ALL OF THESE CONDITIONS DO OCCUR AND DID OCCUR ON MY CAR BEFORE THE RECALL. THE REPLACEMENT OF THE HEATER CORE COST IS ABOUT $2,000. IT SEEMS TO ME THAT BMW SHOULD BE RESPONSIBLE FOR REPAIR OF AN ADMITTED DEFECT AND THE REPLACEMENT OF A $10.00 RADIATOR CAP IS NOT GOING TO HELP. I REPLACED MY CAP BEFOR THE RECALL AFTER THE DAMAGE WAS DONE. WHY DOESNT THE NHTSA DEMAND BMW TO BE RESPONSIBLE FOR THESE FAILURES CAUSED BY DESIGN FLAWS?
ELECTRICAL SYSTEM PROBLEM
- Date Of Incident: 2024-11-24
- Fire: 1
- Components: ELECTRICAL SYSTEM
- Summary: WHILE PARKED VEHICLE CAUGHT FIRE UNDER THE HOOD. THIS HAS HAPPENED TWICE, HARNESS WAS REPLACED THE FIRST TIME. DEALER CAN'T FIND A SOLUTION. *AK
SEATS PROBLEM
- Date Of Incident: 1997-06-16
- VIN: WBAGB4312ND
- Components: SEATS
- Summary: THE DRIVERS SIDE POWER SEAT RECLINE CABLE SLIPS OUT OF ITS MOTOR ALLOWING THE SEAT BACK TO SUDDERLY FALL BACK UNTILL IT RESTS ON THE REAR SEAT. THIS IS DANGEROUS WHILE DRIVING AND CAN CAUSE THE DRIVER TO LOOSE CONTROL OF THE CAR. I REPORTED THIS FAILURE TO THE DEALER AND THE SERVICE MANAGER TOLD ME THAT REPLACING THE CABLE WILL NOT FIX THE PROBLEM. THEIR MECHANICS INSERT A PIECE OF WELDING ROD INTO OR ONTO THE CABLE HOUSING TO SOLVE THE PROBLEM. BUT THEY DECLINED TO PERFORM THIS FIX FOR ME WHEN I ASKED IF THERE WAS A RECALL FOR THIS PROBLEM. I PURCHASED A NEW CABLE BUT THERE IS SOME CONFUSION AS TO WHICH REPLACEMENT PART IS THE CORRECT ONE. I PURCHACED BOTH OF THE TYPES LISTED AND THEY ARE THE SAME LENGTH AS THE OLD CABLE AND THE PROBLEM STILL EXISTS. THE PARTS MAN AT KUNI TOLD ME THAT THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM AN SEVERAL MODELS OF BMW NOT JUST THE 735I.
1992 Bmw 735i recalls

- Manufacturer: BAYERISCHE MOTOREN WERKE
- Components: ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING:COOLING SYSTEM
- Summary: VEHICLE DESCRIPTION: PASSENGER VEHICLES. A MALFUNCTION OR FAILURE OF A COOLANT SYSTEM COMPONENT, SUCH AS A THERMOSTAT, WATER PUMP, OR FAN BELT, CAN RESULT IN SIGNIFICANTLY INCREASED COOLANT TEMPERATURE AND SYSTEM PRESSURE. IF THE INDICATIONS OF A CRITICAL OVERHEATING CONDITION IS NOT NOTICED BY THE DRIVER, IT IS POSSIBLE THAT DAMAGE TO, OR FAILURE OF, A COOLANT SYSTEM COMPONENT COULD OCCUR.
- Consequence: IF A CRACK WERE TO FORM OR A SEAM WERE TO SEPARATE IN THE HEATER CORE END PIECE, HOT COOLANT COULD SUDDENLY BE EXPELLED, INCREASING THE RISK OF PERSONAL INJURY TO A VEHICLE OCCUPANT.
- Remedy: DEALERS WILL INSTALL A NEW DESIGN RADIATOR CAP TO CONTROL PRESSURE AND PROVIDE GREATER COOLANT OVERFLOW IN THE EVENT OF OVERHEATING.
- Manufacturer: BAYERISCHE MOTOREN WERKE
- Components: AIR BAGS:FRONTAL
- Summary: THE AIR BAG CONTACT RING LOCKING TAB LOCATED IN THE STEERING WHEEL ASSEMBLY CAN BREAK WITHOUT WARNING.
- Consequence: IF THIS HAPPENS, THE CONTACT RING WIRING COULD EVENTUALLY BREAK. THE AIR BAG READINESS INDICATOR LAMP (SRS OR AIRBAG) IN THE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER WILL ILLUMINATE, AND THE AIR BAG WOULD NOT DEPLOY IN THE EVENT OF A FRONTAL IMPACT VEHICLE COLLISION.
- Remedy: DEALERS WILL REPLACE THE LOCKING TAB WITH ONE OF A DIFFERENT DESIGN.
- Manufacturer: BAYERISCHE MOTOREN WERKE
- Components: EXTERIOR LIGHTING:BRAKE LIGHTS:SWITCH
- Summary: THE BRAKE LIGHT SWITCH CAN FAIL ALLOWING THE SWITCH TO REMAIN IN THE "BRAKE LIGHTS OFF" POSITION OR IN THE "BRAKE LIGHTS ON" POSITION.
- Consequence: IF THIS HAPPENS, THE BRAKE LIGHTS EITHER WILL NOT OPERATE OR WILL BE CONTINUOUSLY ON, REGARDLESS OF BRAKE PEDAL POSITION. FOLLOWING DRIVERS WOULD NOT BE ABLE TO DETERMINE WHETHER THE VEHICLE IS STOPPING, INCREASING THE POTENTIAL FOR A VEHICLE ACCIDENT.
- Remedy: DEALERS WILL REPLACE THE EXISTING BRAKE LIGHT SWITCH WITH A NEWLY DESIGNED SWITCH.
