STEERING PROBLEM
- Date Of Incident: 2018-01-06
- VIN: JH4CW2H6XBC
- Components: STEERING
- Summary: THIS IS MY WIFE'S CAR AND ALTHOUGH ITS A 2011 IT ONLY HAS ABOUT 60,000 MILES. RECENTLY WE WERE DRIVING DOWN AN INTERSTATE (WITH OUR TWO CHILDREN) AND THE "CHECK POWER STEERING" MESSAGE CAME ON THE DIGITAL DISPLAY, AND RIGHT AFTER THAT THE STEERING WHEEL BECAME IMPOSSIBLE TO TURN/LOCKED UP. WE PULLED OFF THE HIGHWAY AT THE NEXT EXIT AND TURNED THE CAR OFF AND RESTARTED IT, AS IT SUGGESTED - AND IT FIXED IT TEMPORARILY. BUT IT DID THE SAME THING TWO MORE TIMES ON SECONDARY ROADS AS WE LIMPED THE CAR HOME. LUCKILY WE WERENT FAR AWAY. HER MECHANIC REPLACED THE ENTIRE EPS (ELECTRONIC POWER STEERING) SYSTEM, WHICH WAS PRETTY EXPENSIVE - BUT THIS SEEMS LIKE A MAJOR SAFETY ISSUE SINCE WE WERE MOVING AT ABOUT 65MPH WHEN IT OCCURRED. IM LOOKING INTO IF THERE HAS BEEN A RECALL SINCE THERE ARE SEVERAL OTHER COMPLAINTS ON HERE STATING THE SAME THING HAPPENED TO THEM.
SERVICE BRAKES PROBLEM
- Date Of Incident: 2017-01-09
- VIN: JH4CW2H56BC
- Components: SERVICE BRAKES
- Summary: I'VE NOW EXPERIENCED A BRAKE FAILURE TWICE WHEN THE TEMPERATURES ARE BELOW OR NEAR FREEZING. I'VE STARTED THE CAR AND STARTED DRIVING. THE FIRST INCIDENT HAPPENED ABOUT 10 FEET INTO THE DRIVE. WHEN APPLIED THE BRAKES GOT LITTLE TO NO BRAKE POWER CAUSING THE CAR TO ROLL EVENTUALLY COMING A STOP AFTER TRAVELING ABOUT 10 FEET WITH THE BREAKS FULLY APPLIED. THE SECOND INCIDENT, I DROVE FOR ABOUT 100 FEET AND WHEN APPLIED THE BRAKES GOT ALMOST NO BRAKING POWER AGAIN CAUSING THE CAR TO TRAVEL AT LEAST 20-30 FEET BEFORE STOPPING. IN BOTH CASES: - TEMPERATURES WHERE NEAR OR BELOW FREEZING. FIRST TIME ABOUT 30 DEGREES, SECOND TIME 18 DEGREES FAHRENHEIT - THIS WAS THE FIRST DRIVE OF THE DAY AND HAPPENED AFTER TRAVELING APPROX. 10 FT THE FIRST TIME, AND THEN 100 FT THE SECOND TIME. - AFTER THE FAILURE, BREAKS STARTED TO WORK NORMALLY AFTER PUMPING THE PEDALS AND BREAKING SLOWLY A FEW TIMES. IT ALMOST FELT AS IF THE BREAKING MECHANISM WAS FROZEN, THEN DEFROSTED AFTER SOME USE. - THE BRAKE PEDAL FELT AS IT DID NOT TRAVEL MUCH DURING THE FAILURE. ALMOST THE SAME FEEL WHEN THE CAR IGNITION IS OFF. - THERE WAS NO SNOW OR ICE ON THE ROAD, SO THE VEHICLE WAS NOT SKIDDING, JUST PLAIN BRAKE FAILURE. - DRIVING WAS ON PAVED CITY STREETS THIS CAR HAS BEEN SERVICED BY AN ACURA / HONDA DEALER ALWAYS PER MAINTENANCE REQUIREMENTS. *TR

If you don't need a big SUV, this is the perfect vehicle. It's dependable, roomy, fun to drive, great in traffic, and easy to park.

I recently sold my 03' Toyota Tacoma Double Cab and picked up my TSX Wagon at the end of March. I am extremely pleased with my purchase so far. While I did not expect it to be a sports car, I find that it has decent power. The gas mileage is also a huge plus, as it is easily 7-8mpg better than my truck. Although the cargo capacity is less than my truck, I was still able to load a 4 burner gas grill (in box) from Lowes into the back cargo area along with the gas tank and a few accessories. The tech package is quite extensive, and while I only know a handful of voice commands, the navigation works great, the power lift gate is very useful, and the sound system sounds great. Overall, I am really happy with the car.

We've been driving this car for a month and we absolutely love it! It has great gas mileage and some really nice luxury features. While it may not be the most performance-oriented car out there, it's still a fantastic option for those looking for a fuel-efficient alternative to an SUV. It's important to keep in mind that you're paying for the nameplate and luxury features, but if that's what you're after, you won't be disappointed. The only downside we've found is that the back seat isn't very child seat-friendly, which is a shame for a family car. The buckle is recessed and the seat shape forces the booster right over the buckle, making it impossible to use without a seat belt extender. We're not sure what that means for safety, but overall we're still very happy with our purchase!

I own a base-model TSX wagon that I bought about a month ago. I like it a lot, I think it's a great car and the base costs at least 5-6k less than a bmw or audi. That said, I realize it's got compromises and doesn't really compete with the A4 or 3-series. I choose it because it's a solid, comfy and reliable car with some added utility. I think of it as a modern Volvo 240 wagon that I'll be able to drive for 10 years with few problems. It is fun to drive though and I can hit corners at a high rate of speed. The acceleration is fine, but not impressive, as every reviewer has said.Acura went wrong with the name and little else; it's not a "sport" wagon, but it is an excellent wagon.

I recently traded in my 2008 Acura TL for a new TSX Wagon because my family is growing. I didn't want an SUV because I'm concerned about their tendency to rollover and their high gas consumption. During my search, I test drove the RDX which had great performance, but was a bit noisy due to the turbo. Additionally, the trunk space in the RDX seemed smaller than that of the TSX Wagon. I find the design of the TSX's interior and exterior to be beautiful! The K24 engine provides V6-like performance while still maintaining great MPG. I've owned an 88, 92 Integra, 02 Accord V6, and 08 TL, and have had very few problems with any of them. In my opinion, Honda is the most reliable automaker out there!
