I stumbled upon this vehicle by chance and I'm thrilled with the outcome. I'm really impressed by the engine power, comfortable interior and understated exterior design - not a fan of the 'prestige vehicle' badges. The car is eager to go at speeds that match its design. I have a hard time keeping it under 80 mph. In fact, on one occasion I had to accelerate briefly and quickly reached 120 mph. The fuel economy is not great, with average city driving yielding about 16.5 - 17.0 mpg. I always find reasons to drive this car - it's a wonderful feeling. I'm also excited for my first road trip - it should be fantastic!

We really love this car and it's easy to compare it to our previous Merc S430 that we drove for 3 years. The interior room and comfort of this car is much better. As a tall person, I can comfortably fit behind a tall driver. The base price includes so much more than what Mercedes offers.

Jumping into an unproven model was a concern of mine, but I have no regrets about the Volkswagen Phaeton V8. It is an absolute pleasure to drive, with no road noise, and I love the four suspension choices. As a designer, I was smitten with the luxurious interior appointments. This car reminds me of the Bentley that I used to own. It is a head-turner, and every day I respond to questions from appreciative onlookers. Onstar is also part of the whole package. I hate to admit that I've said goodbye to BMW, but this car is much more interesting.

The Phaeton is an amazing car, with features such as soft close doors, a 270 Watt Bose 17 speaker system, and a great manu shift tranny w/ AWD. It's a true luxury rocket and the best thing I've ever driven. Even though it lacks a few features such as auto chestnut covers on front air vents, massage ac/heated seats all the way around, and comes with a hefty price tag of about $80,000, it's still a great choice. I found a 2005 model with only 29k miles and I can't wait to go drive it. It's definitely the best luxury bargain out there. VW should consider bringing it back in 2013, especially since it sells so well in Europe. Let's hit the auto bahn!

After driving for 8+ hours, the weight of the car can be felt, but it still provides a smooth ride. However, if you're looking for a more fun driving experience, the Audi A6, which is a class lower, might be a better fit. I recently purchased one and it definitely lives up to its reputation of being 'fun to drive'.
