SUZUKI WILL NOT ALLOW ANY OTHER FACILITY, NO MATTER HOW WELL QUALIFIED, TO PERFORM THE REPAIRS. SUZUKI OFFERS NO SOLUTION - LIKE OFFERING TO TOW THE VEHICLE - ASIDE FROM AN OFFER TO REIMBURSE FOR FUEL. I AM A NEIGHBOR AND CAN ATTEST TO THE OWNER'S PHYSICAL LIMITATIONS (HE HAD A STROKE). HE IS ALSO ELDERLY AND FROM ANOTHER COUNTRY - SO HIS COMPREHENSION OF THE ISSUE IS LIMITED. HE'S WORRIED THE CAR ISN'T RELIABLE ENOUGH FOR HIS DAILY TRIPS TO HIS DOCTOR AND VOICED WORRY ABOUT HIS OPTIONS TO GET IT FIXED. IT IS MY HOPE THE INTERVENTION OF SOMEONE FROM THE NHTSA MIGHT SWAY SUZUKI TO OFFER A VARIANCE FROM THEIR POLICY - SO THEY WOULD OFFER TO TRANSPORT THE VEHICLE TO AND FROM THE NEAREST DEALERSHIP FOR THE REPAIRS TO BE COMPLETED (SINCE I WAS TOLD A DEALER MUST BE THE ONES PERFORMING THE REPAIR).

MOST RECENTLY IT HAS BEGUN TO REV UP BETWEEN 4,000 AND 5,000 RPM. WHEN THIS HAPPENS, I PUT THE CAR IN NEUTRAL TO TRY TO GET IT BACK TO NORMAL. 2 DAYS AGO WHEN THIS HAPPENED IT CAUSED ME TO HIT A POT HOLE HARD ENOUGH TO BREAK MY DRIVER SIDE BALL JOINT AND LOWER CONTROL ARM. I SEE RECALLS FOR OTHER, SAME YEAR MODEL SUZUKIS THAT EXPERIENCED THIS SAME ISSUE. I DON'T THINK I SHOULD HAVE TO PAY TO REPAIR A KNOWN MECHANICAL DEFECT. THERE IS ALSO AN NHTSA ID DESCRIBING THIS ISSUE AS WELL. IT IS EXTREMELY SCARY TO HAVE THE CAR REVING THAT HIGH AND TRYING TO CONTROL IT. I AM THANKFUL THAT I ONLY HIT A POT HOLE AND NOT ANOTHER VEHICLE OR WORSE.

- VIN: KL5JD56ZX6K
- Components: SUSPENSION,ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,AIR BAGS
- Summary: SUZUKI HAS NEVER SENT ME A RECALL NOTICE: 2016 EXPLANATION- THEY ARE ONLY GOING BY EACH STATE'S VEHICLE OWNER RECORDED ADDRESS. I/ MY CAR HAVE HAD THE SAME LISTED ADDRESS SINCE PURCHASE. SUZUKI ON NIHTSA SHOWS 4 RECALLS; FORENZA ENGINE WIRING HARNESS IS NOT THERE. WHAT ELSE IS MISSING? ORIGINAL FORENZA OWNER, UNDER 47,000 MILES. REPEATEDLY, WARNING LITES CAME ON WITH OVERHEAT. OCT.2006 ENGINE STALLED AT 35MPH IN INTERSECTION; WITH MULTIPLE COMPLAINTS SUZUKI, AWARE OF EWH FAILURE, FAILS TO DO A FOENZA ENGINE WIRING HARNESS RECALL. I SEE THE SAME SYMPTOM COMPLAINTS BY OTHER FORENZA OWNERS. TOOK 3 CAR STALLINGS BEFORE DIAGNOSIS MADE & ENGINE WIRING HARNESS REPLACED. FROM OCT.2006 COMPLAINED OF "OLD CAR CREAKING/RUFF SUSPENSION" NOISES/BOUNCING GOING OVER ANY SPEED BUMPS OR ROLLING STREETS. SUZUKI REPLACED SOME DAMAGED BUSHINGS BUT NOISES/BAD SUSPENSION RETURNED; I CONTINUED COMPLAINTS TO THE DEALER AND SUZUKI, & PAID FOR SEVERAL WHEEL ALLIGNMENTS. WITHOUT INFORMING ME, SUZUKI THE DEALER MECHANIC, AGAIN CHECKING ON MY COMPLAINT, NOTES "CRACKED STRUTS" ABOUT 1 MONTH AFTER MY 3YR FULL WARANTY EXPIRED. 2012, I LEARNED OF THE "OLD CAR SYMPTOM" SUSPENSION DAMAGE FROM A NON-SUZUKI MECHANIC REVIEWING THE CAR REPAIR HISTORY. THERE IS NOW A SUSPENSION SYSTEM CORROSION FAIURE RECALL FOR 2006 VITARAS BUT NOT FORENZAS; SAME YEAR VITARA AND FORENZA PROBLEMS SEEM ASSOCIATED ISSUES. 2006, SUZUKI RECALLS FOR OVERHEAT/FIRE IGNITION FROM HEADLIGHTS/ELECTRICAL SWTICHS ARE 2 OF 4 RECALLS LISTED WITH NIHTSA. 2007-2015, I COMPLAINED TO SUZUKI OF THE SAME SYMPTOMS (MULTIPLE FAILED BATTERIES, ELECTRICAL BURNING ODORS, LIGHT SHORTS...) SUZUKI DESCRIBES AS HIGH PRIORITY FOR REPAIR OF HEADLIGHT/ELECTRICAL SWITCH. ME, UNAWARE OF RECALLS, SUZUKI DENIED ANY RESPONSIBILITY!! MY A/C AIR SYSTEM, RADIO, AND RARELY USED DRIVER WINDOW SHORTED AFTER EPISODES OF BATTERY FAILURES IN 45MPH CITY TRAFFIC.
VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL,FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM PROBLEM
- Date Of Incident: 2016-04-27
- VIN: KL5JD56Z86K
- Components: VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL,FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM
- Summary: THE VEHICLE WAS STATIONARY EACH TIME THIS OCCURRED (3 TIMES AT STOP LIGHTS, AND YESTERDAY, 4/27/16, IN A PARKING LOT). WHEN I COME TO A STOP (WITH FOOT ON BRAKE), THE CAR STARTS TO ACCELERATE HARD TRYING TO GO FORWARD. EACH TIME I PUT BOTH FEET ON BRAKE, AND IT STILL COULDN'T STOP IT, SO I JERKED IT INTO PARK, THEN TURNED OFF KEY. EACH TIME THAT KEPT ME FROM CRASHING. IT WAS SCARY BECAUSE I HAVE CHILDREN IN THE CAR. SUZUKI DEALERSHIP IN WINSTON-SALEM DIDN'T SEEM TO KNOW WHAT IT WAS, BUT SAID I COULD TOW IT IN TO GET IT LOOKED AT (COST $$$). THEN I CALLED SUZUKI DEALER IN RALEIGH NC AND THEY SAID TO BRING IT IN FOR $110 FOR THEM TO JUST LOOK AT IT. IT ONLY HAPPENS RANDOMLY, SO I DON'T TRUST THAT THEY WILL BE ABLE TO FIGURE IT OUT. PLEASE SEE THE FOLLOWING WEBLINK THAT DESCRIBED OTHERS HAVING THE SAME PROBLEM, BUT NO SOLUTION (EVEN AFTER THEY TOOK IT TO BE WORKED ON AT SUZUKI PLACE). Suzuki Forenza 2006 recalls
The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) has issued 4 recalls for different components of the Suzuki Forenza 2006.
- Manufacturer: Suzuki Motor of America, Inc.
- Components: EXTERIOR LIGHTING:HEADLIGHTS
- Summary: Suzuki Motor of America, Inc. (Suzuki) is recalling certain model year 2004-2008 Forenza vehicles, and 2005-2008 Reno vehicles manufactured from September 1, 2003, through July 30, 2008. In the affected vehicles, heat may be generated in the headlamp switch or daytime running light (DRL) module which could melt the headlamp switch or the DRL module.
- Consequence: If the heat generated within the headlamp switch or DRL module located on the left side of the steering column melts the headlamp switch or DRL module, there is an increased risk of a fire.
- Remedy: Suzuki will replace the signal switch and add a jumper relay kit and will replace the DRL Module in teh instrument panel harness. Suzuki distributed to owners an interim letter on July 30, 2014. The recall began October 29, 2014. Owners may contact Suzuki at 1-800-934-0934. Suzuki's number for this recall is XA.
- Manufacturer: AMERICAN SUZUKI MOTOR CORP.
- Components: ELECTRICAL SYSTEM:WIRING:INTERIOR/UNDER DASH
- Summary: Suzuki is recalling certain model year 2004-2006 Forenza and model year 2005-2006 Reno vehicles manufactured from September 23, 2003, through March 7, 2006. Increased resistance due to poor contact between the terminals of certain wires can generate heat that can melt the splice pack used to connect the power circuit wires for the headlamps. This can result in intermittent or total loss of low/high beam headlamp function.
- Consequence: If the headlamps fail to function, this will lead to reduced driver visibility, increasing the risk of a crash.
- Remedy: Suzuki will notify owners, and Suzuki dealers will reconnect the affected wires with two heat-shrink crimps, free of charge. The safety recall began on September 25, 2012. Owners may contact Suzuki at 1-877-697-8985.
- Manufacturer: AMERICAN SUZUKI MOTOR CORP.
- Components: EXTERIOR LIGHTING
- Summary: ON CERTAIN PASSENGER VEHICLES, HEADLAMP LOW BEAM OR DAYTIME RUNNING LIGHT (DRL) FUNCTION MAY BE INOPERATIVE DUE TO A MELTED SPLICE PACK ON THE WIRING HARNESS.
- Consequence: INAPPROPRIATE LIGHTING COULD REDUCE VISIBILITY OF VEHICLES AND INCREASE THE POTENTIAL FOR A CRASH.
- Remedy: DEALERS WILL SPLICE THE POWER CIRCUIT WIRES FOR THE LOW-BEAM HEADLAMPS AND DRL FREE OF CHARGE. THE RECALL WILL BE MAILED IN THREE PHASES, STARTING AT THE END OF OCTOBER 2007 AND CONCLUDING BY THE END OF JANUARY 2008;. OWNERS MAY CONTACT SUZUKI AT 1-800-934-0934.
- Manufacturer: AMERICAN SUZUKI MOTOR CORP.
- Components: SEAT BELTS:FRONT:BUCKLE ASSEMBLY
- Summary: ON CERTAIN PASSENGER VEHICLES, THE FRONT SEAT BELT TONGUE WILL NOT LATCH INTO THE BUCKLE AND, IN RARE CASES, EVEN THE LOCKED TONGUE WILL POP OUT BY LOW STRETCHING FORCE. IF THE BUCKLE DOES NOT LATCH COMPLETELY, THE BUCKLE COULD RELEASE WITHOUT PRESSING THE RELEASE BUTTON.
- Consequence: THESE BUCKLE MALFUNCTIONS, WHICH COULD PREVENT A PERSON FROM USING THE SEAT BELT OR COULD CAUSE THE SEAT BELT TO FAIL TO FUNCTION AS DESIGNED, CAN INCREASE THE RISK OF INJURY IN A CRASH.
- Remedy: DEALERS WILL REPLACE THE FRONT DRIVER AND PASSENGER SEAT BELT BUCKLES WITH THE IMPROVED PART FREE OF CHARGE. THE RECALL BEGAN ON AUGUST 31, 2007. OWNERS MAY CONTACT SUZUKI AT 1-800-934-0934.

Congratulations on your new car purchase! I'm glad to hear that the reviews here were helpful to you. It sounds like this car is a great replacement for your previous one. Although it may be cheap, it has some exciting features that make it more enjoyable to drive than your old Civic. I'm happy to hear that you haven't experienced any of the starting problems mentioned in other reviews. While you may not be head over heels in love with it, it's great to hear that you like it. It's also great to hear that your friend noticed an increase in comfort and space compared to your old car. Overall, it sounds like this car is a great choice, especially for a first car for a teen. Enjoy the ride!

I've had the car for two weeks now and it already has 30,000 miles on it. But I'm happy to report that I haven't had any issues with it so far - no starting problems or anything else. It's a pleasure to ride and drive, and it's surprisingly spacious for a compact car. I opted for the summit white paint color and I think it looks great. The interior design is also impressive and exceeds my expectations. Some people seem to have negative opinions about this car, but I don't understand why. As long as you take good care of it, it should work just fine. And with 30,000 miles on it already, I'm confident that any potential issues would have already surfaced by now.

The Forenza Wagon is a fantastic driving experience. It handles well on highways and in street driving, has a great turning capability, and gets decent gas mileage (although there are more fuel efficient wagons out there). The exterior styling is superb, resembling an Italian import. For the price and overall value, I couldn't be happier.

I purchased this car back in October of 2006 and have been extremely satisfied with it ever since. Not only is it spacious enough to comfortably fit my wife (who is 6'1

I drive for a living 300 miles a day in my Forenza. Yes, I had to change the seat belt, but that was free. Other than normal required maintenance, my car has been perfect. The gas mileage is great for the size of the car, since I fill up the tank every day. Although the tires come in one size, you can actually have one size bigger put on, which has been cheaper and has gotten better gas mileage. For someone who drives for a living, it has been a great vehicle.

I'm glad to hear that you're enjoying your 2006 wagon! It sounds like it's a great fit for you, especially with your height and weight. The exterior styling is reminiscent of the Dodge Magnum, which is a cool touch. Plus, the 7-year, 100,000-mile warranty is definitely a selling point. The interior is nicely styled and you get a lot of accessories for a great value compared to other vehicles in this category. The fuel economy is superb and it handles the road really well. While it may not be the fastest car out there, it definitely gets the job done. The safety features are impressive and there's plenty of hidden storage and room for passengers. Overall, it sounds like an excellent car and I hope others are able to catch one too!

If you're thinking about purchasing a Suzuki Forenza, it's important to test drive it multiple times. Please be aware that some 2006 models have experienced intermittent 'no start' issues. Additionally, the A/C output and acceleration may not be up to par. If you're 5'8

I bought my Suzuki back in 2007 and have enjoyed driving it until recently. Unfortunately, I've started experiencing some transmission problems and I haven't even hit 50,000 miles yet! The only dealership that can help me is 60 miles away due to the warranty, but they've been very helpful in finding a solution. The Suzuki dealership suggested I drive it in, but the other dealership has been more accommodating and understanding. Although I was disappointed to learn that the dealership that sold me the car only offers basic services, I'm grateful for the help I've received from the other dealership. While I may consider other options in the future, I'm still grateful for the time I've had with my Suzuki.

My car drove well for a year and I absolutely loved it! Unfortunately, I experienced some issues such as a recurring engine warning light due to a faulty gas cap, a broken center console hinge, and some issues with the inside trim along the windshield. Additionally, the driver's seat belt would unlock by itself which was quite scary, and the air bag warning light would turn off and on. Sometimes, the car would not start in the mornings or after it sat for a few days. Unfortunately, the entire motor eventually blew up and I had to get it replaced. However, shortly after being fixed, the car experienced another issue due to a software mishap. Despite these setbacks, I am confident that the issues will be resolved soon and I am looking forward to enjoying my car once again. Additionally, there are a few minor recalls that I am aware of, but I am confident that they will be addressed in a timely manner.

This car has had some issues. The door handles broke off and the key gets stuck in the ignition, which drains the battery. The gears also have trouble shifting and it doesn't start well in cold weather. Additionally, it seems to be hard on tires. It's worth noting that there are many people online who have experienced similar problems, and there have been no recalls issued. However, with proper maintenance and care, these issues can be addressed and the car can still provide reliable transportation.
