Suzuki Forenza problems

The Daewoo Lacetti is a compact car manufactured and marketed globally by GM Korea since 2002. The first-generation Lacetti was available as a four-door sedan and five-door station wagon, styled by Pininfarina—and five-door hatchback styled by Giorgetto Giugiaro. The sedan and wagon were marketed as the Daewoo Nubira in some European markets and as the Suzuki Forenza in North America. The hatchback, was introduced in 2004 and marketed as Daewoo Lacetti5 in South Korea, Suzuki Reno in the United States. After the 2004 model year, it was marketed as Chevrolet Nubira and Lacetti in Europe, as the Chevrolet Optra in Canada, Latin America, Africa, Middle East, India, Japan and Southeast Asia, and as the Holden Viva in Australia and New Zealand.
In 2008, the second-generation Lacetti was launched as the Daewoo Lacetti Premiere, a badge-engineered version of the Chevrolet Cruze, co-developed by GM Daewoo, Holden, and General Motors. It was marketed under the Daewoo marque until the beginning of 2011, when the brand was discontinued, and was thereafter marketed under the Chevrolet and Holden brands.
The name Lacetti derives from the Latin "Lacertus", meaning "youthful".

I purchased this car on Halloween and I absolutely love it! It rides really well, it's fast and fun to drive. I'm so happy with the gas mileage I get, especially since gas prices seem to be going up again. Plus, it has ample leg room and a roomy trunk. It's just great!

Hey there! I did some research and found out that you can buy almost all parts for your car at rockauto.com. You don't have to go through a dealer. Hope this helps!

If you're looking for a car with plenty of headroom, the Forenza wagon might just be the perfect fit for you. It's loaded with features and comes at an affordable price. The styling is nice, the interior is great, and the handling is decent. Plus, the stereo is fantastic. It's a very practical car, and the dealer is super helpful. Even though I'm really picky, I only found a couple of small problems that were easily fixed. The car is made from proven parts from all over the world, so it should hold up well. Some people complain that the engine sounds like a 4 cylinder and that the car doesn't handle like a Porsche, but let's be real - those are pretty high standards. In my opinion, this car is like a very tasty cheeseburger - satisfying and enjoyable.

Vehicle year: 2008
I purchased this car used with 90k miles on it. During the first year, I only had a minor issue with one of the headlights, which was easily fixed. Since then, the car has reached 137k miles and I have only needed to perform regular maintenance, such as occasional oil changes, one alignment (due to my own error), and new tires (as the ones it came with were quite worn). The most expensive repair I have had to make was to the alternator, which was not too costly compared to other potential issues. In terms of comfort, this car is quite spacious for individuals who are not too tall or overweight. While it may not be the best option for larger families, I can comfortably fit five people in the car with ample space for everyone. The trunk space is perfect, and the interior is spacious as well, although I do not have car seats in the back seat. As for the sound system, I still have the original and it sounds just fine.

I'm so glad to hear that your 06 Forenza has been such an excellent car for you! It's great to know that even with 111,000 miles on it, it's still performing well. It's impressive that you've only had to change the battery, and that the car has been so reliable in all weather conditions. It's also good to hear that there's plenty of room for you and your passengers, even with you being tall. Thank you for sharing your positive experience with your car!

Congratulations on your first brand new car! It's understandable to be excited about such a great purchase. However, it's unfortunate to hear that you've been experiencing some issues with the car. It sounds like the check engine light has been a persistent problem, and there have been some other small issues as well. Additionally, the acceleration has been slow, and the car has been in the shop quite a bit recently. It's frustrating that it hasn't been able to pass inspection, but hopefully, the issues will be resolved soon. Thank you for sharing your experience, and we hope that things improve for you soon!

Hey there! If you're considering buying an '06 Forenza, I wanted to share my experience with you. Unfortunately, I've been having some trouble with mine. It seems that about 1/4 of the 2006 Forenza line has a cold start problem, which means that after it sits for a while, it won't start or runs really rough. I'm not the only one experiencing this problem, but I wanted to give you a heads up. I took it to the dealer (I've only had it for four days) and they said that there is something wrong with the fuel pressure. Suzuki is aware of the issue, and they're working on a fix. In the meantime, I've been given a rental car, but it's still frustrating to have a brand new car that doesn't run right. I hope this information helps you make an informed decision. Let me know if you have any questions!

This car has been one of my favorites, but unfortunately, it has had a lot of problems. The estimated mpg is [non-permissible content removed], but I have never seen better than 25 mpg. The paint is chipping away, and it doesn't look very attractive. Additionally, it has no power whatsoever, and I have to burn the clutch to hell if I have my AC on and try to go. Recently, someone tried to break into my car and messed up the locking system, and the dealership wants to charge $1200 to fix it. The brake light never goes off, and the dealer wants $2300 for that. The airbag light is also on, which again is $1200 to fix. However, I have had no problems with the rims. I have even taken it off-roading where I'm not supposed to be, and it can take the abuse.

During my first week of owning the Suzuki, I had a negative experience and decided to return it. Unfortunately, my trade-in was sold. Since then, I have encountered some issues with the car, such as the rims bending easily and the headlights requiring frequent bulb replacements. Additionally, the CD player has had to be replaced twice and the suspension squeaks. In my opinion, Suzuki should focus on their motorcycles rather than their cars. I have decided to switch back to Honda for my next purchase. If you are considering a Suzuki, I would advise you to think carefully before making a decision.

I've owned this car for almost two years now, having bought it in 2010 with around 35k miles on the engine. I've been diligent about getting regular oil changes, thanks to a friend who used to own a shop. Despite my best efforts, the motor suddenly blew out of nowhere. I was on my way to school one morning when it started knocking, and now I'm facing a $4k bill for a new engine. Although the car is still under warranty, I'm having trouble providing receipts for the oil changes I got for free. Unfortunately, this is just one of many issues I've had with the car, including burnt-out headlights, a slipping transmission, malfunctioning windows, and a faulty AC unit (which I've since fixed). All in all, I wouldn't recommend buying this car.
