- Summary: Porsche Cars North America, Inc. (Porsche) is recalling certain model year 2014-2015 Porsche 911, Boxster, and Cayman vehicles manufactured May 7, 2014, to September 23, 2014. The front hood upper lock components were not manufactured to specification and may fail to securely latch the vehicle's hood during operation.
- Consequence: A failure of the hood latching mechanism may cause the hood to suddenly open during vehicle operation and will severely impede the driver's ability to see out the front windshield, increasing the risk of a vehicle crash.
- Remedy: Porsche will notify owners, and dealers will replace the lock on the front hood, free of charge. The recall began December 12, 2014. Owners may contact Porsche customer service at 1-800-767-7243. Porsche's number for this recall is AE04.

The 2013 Boxster still feels and smells new after over 6 years. The paint, Racing Yellow, has held up with only a yearly wax job. To keep it factory fresh, it's important to have yearly dealer service (oil changes) and a good car cover and garage. I would also advise bi-annual battery changes and brake fluid flush. But most importantly, just enjoy driving one of the best handling cars ever!

I've heard that the ultimate test of a car's cool factor is the way kids respond. Well, let me tell you, this car catches the eye of every kid I pass! The 2013 Boxster S is a phenomenal car. It's my first Porsche, and now I understand why those who own one appreciate it so much. It's incredibly fast, handles excellently, brakes superbly, and is just plain fun. The comfort is good, but not great - it's definitely not designed for long distances, and I wouldn't have it as a daily driver. Safety is excellent, but my only issue is with outward visibility. With the top down, it's okay, but with the top up, I almost need a ground guide. I marked down the value due to maintenance costs and purchase price. The price for a nicely loaded Boxster S is not cheap when you consider it's really a second car. However, I wouldn't hesitate to buy this car again and again. It's pure fun with the top down driving along Highway 1 or on a twisty mountain road!

Hi there! I hope you're doing well. I just wanted to say that I'm a huge fan of Porsches, and I think the Boxster is a really great car. I used to think they weren't very stylish, but the 2013 model is absolutely stunning in person! It's also one of the best handling cars out there. I will say that the base model doesn't have a ton of low end torque, so you'll want to keep the engine between 4500 and 7000 rpm's. But within that range, it's plenty fast! Of course, you do have to choose between power and mileage - you'll get around 18 mpg if you're pushing it, but you can get up to 30 mpg with a light foot. And the handling is just incredible - the car feels like it's glued to the road no matter how hard you push it. I used to have a Lotus Elise, which had amazing handling, but I think the new Boxster might be even better!

I recently traded my 13 Boxster S for a 2014 991. I always wanted a new body style and the 991 did not disappoint. However, I found that it was lacking in many areas where the 2015 Boxster S excels, such as ride comfort. The 991 made every crack in the road loudly and annoyingly noticeable. On the other hand, the Boxster's 6-speed transmission is a perfect fit for me, even at 6'2

I bought a new Boxster in 2014 from Checkered Flag in Va Bch. I test drove both the S and base models, thinking I would prefer the S, but I was mistaken. The base car does not have 'mediocre acceleration' as the Edmunds review suggests. It may be slightly slower than the S version, but it is more than adequate for normal use. In fact, it is faster than my 2006 Cayman S. I highly recommend the PDK transmission, which is a remarkable unit. Those who prefer a manual six-speed are missing out. In the past, I have owned several versions of the Cayman, an Audi TT RS, and a Corvette GS, but the Boxster is superior to all.
