This is my 3rd review of the car (Look for older ones for more info). The most important thing people look for in this car is gas mileage. I'm happy to report that we've put 76k on the clock and we are beating EPA rated numbers. We do more highway driving than city, which according to official numbers should be the lower number. Our lifetime average up to 58k was 43.7mpg. Then I reset it because I finally bought a winter tire set and new OEM set, we are at 76k now (18k since reset) and the average is 44mpg and rising. As I mentioned in previous reviews, warmer season mpg will be in the 45+ range, it will drop to 40+ during cold months. If you aren't a spirited driver, you will most likely beat EPA estimates. I doubt racers will be buying this car anyway. With that said, the car handles really well. I always try to steal it from my wife on weekends to drive around and enjoy well-handling cars (I am left with a minivan for my 2-mile commute to the train station and that's not fun to drive). I would say that about every big vehicle on the road, by the way. The CT just feels like a road hugger, only lacking acceleration and a stick shift. The second big thing (technically third since I mentioned handling) is that the car has been as reliable as it can get. We've had no issues whatsoever. We will be driving this thing until it goes because that's where owning a Toyota/Lexus product is the greatest advantage. Their cars are rock solid in reliability and can go long miles. One more thing, we are still on the original brake set @76k...wow! I may need to get a Focus ST as a third car as I am dying to have a stick shifter and a car that speeds up a bit faster, but that's more of a weekend car wish than an everyday driver. Back to hybrids, there has been a wave of improved hybrids that hit the market since we bought the CT, so choices are better today than in 2012/2013. And despite popular hate on diesels, I love them. Check out the BMW 535d (started in 2014) if you can afford it.

This car is quite different from most. It's a Lexus, so the comfort and appointments are great inside. However, it doesn't offer the same cushy ride as a Lexus ES or LS. You do feel the road more, but the car is incredibly quiet. The seating position for the driver is excellent, and the seat is very adjustable, making it feel like you're not in a small car. The rear seat room is good for three kids or maybe two adults, but the cargo space in the rear is a little tight. Trips to Home Depot will be different than if you were in an SUV, but you couldn't get nearly 50 MPG in an SUV either. The mileage is fantastic, better than what Lexus quotes.

This car has more than adequate pickup, especially from a stop, despite not being a rocket. The handling is great for a non-AWD vehicle, even with the mediocre OEM tires. The seats are fantastic with large bolsters, and I completely disagree with the Motorweek folks. The layout of the controls is easy to use, although the navigation system is unnecessarily awkward (I prefer the Navigon & TomTom apps on my iPhone, but unfortunately, they are not built into the car). We have driven over 2K miles, and we are averaging over 45MPG of mostly city/suburban driving, but we still get about 45 on the highway too.

I'm so happy I found this car! Even though I was originally looking for a hybrid, I stumbled upon this car in a commercial and then at an Auto Show. I'm getting the same gas mileage as the estimates, but I'm actually trending better than 43 mpg! I've only had it for two weeks and the mpg is getting better as I continue to learn how to drive it. While the trunk space and interior cabin are small, it's perfect for someone who doesn't drive a lot of passengers around. The best part about this car is that you can get more power just by turning a dial to 'sport mode'. When in that mode, the pick up is noticeably quicker than when in 'normal mode'. Overall, I'm very happy with this car!

The car has 3 choices in operation: EV, normal, and Sport. When driving on normal and Sport modes, the car moves with loads of speed. However, climbing an incline with speed on EV can be a challenge, especially if you live in a hilly area. Nevertheless, the gas efficiency is amazing. I highly recommend getting the GPS as it definitely helps you interact better with the car.

With the F-Sport package, this car has an upscale eco-friendly look that I really like. The modern wood and leather-free interior is a refreshing change and it's great to see new materials being used. While the power may be on the lighter side, the handling with the sports package is definitely competitive with the Mini's and GTI's of the world. And let's not forget that it gets over forty miles per gallon on regular fuel!

Hi there! I hope you're doing well. I just wanted to share my experience with my CT so far. I've had it for about 3 weeks now and have only driven less than 1000 miles. Despite that, I've already fueled up twice and both times I was able to achieve between 49 and 50 miles per gallon! This is definitely above the mpg on the sticker. I've noticed that there are a plethora of CT drivers out there, some getting below 40mpg while others are getting over 50mpg. It all depends on how you drive the car. If you're looking for good mpg, it won't outrun any car on the road, so be prepared to pull to the right, slowly get up to speed, and let the traffic pass you by. Personally, I'm okay with that. Upgraded from a base 2010 Prius. The new car is much more comfortable and looks a lot prettier. Although it has less cargo space, it's a great commuter car. Unfortunately, I experienced some engine compression issues. However, Lexus offered me 5k as a trade-in before quoting me a repair price. After doing some research, I found out that this issue had been happening to several people, so they knew about it. I was disappointed since this car has been maintained at the dealer since I got it.

Great dry road car and fun to drive. However, I had some trouble driving it in the snow. The vehicle control system prevented me from moving at a stop sign on snow/ice, which was a bit frustrating. I spoke to a Lexus dealer and found out that this feature is not available on this model, unlike other Lexus models. As a result, I decided to trade the car for a Camry, which has a vehicle control system lock out and performs much better on snow/ice. If you're looking for a car that can handle snow/ice well, I would recommend the Camry, which has almost the same expected mileage.
