  • Airbag-related problems: Another common issue with the Lexus CT 200h is airbag-related problems. This can be a serious safety issue and may require the attention of an official Lexus dealership to check the system and see if the particular model has gone through the recall.
  • Hybrid battery problems: While the hybrid component of the CT200h’s powertrain is generally reliable, some owners have reported premature battery wear and the battery replacement was often priced at around $4000 or even more. This can be a significant expense and may require the attention of a trusted mechanic with experience working on hybrid vehicles.
  • Navigation reboots after initial start: Some owners of the 2014 Lexus CT 200h have reported navigation reboots after the initial start. This can be a significant inconvenience and may require the attention of a Lexus dealership to diagnose and fix the problem.
  • Check engine light activation: The check engine light of Lexus CT200H may activate due to failure of the emission system component, catalytic converter, or sensor. It can also turn on due faulty head gasket, damaged fuel injection system, or defective spark plugs. This can be a significant issue and may require the attention of a trusted mechanic to diagnose and fix the problem.
  • Faulty brake: Some owners have reported weird brake noise and engine shaking when driving. This can be a significant safety issue and may require the attention of a trusted mechanic with experience working on Lexus or Toyota models.

In conclusion, while the Lexus CT 200h is a luxurious car to drive and enjoy long-lasting performance, it is important to be aware of the common problems that owners have reported. Proper preventative maintenance and following the Lexus CT200H maintenance schedule can help avoid most of these issues before they happen. Upgraded from a base 2010 Prius. The new car is much more comfortable and looks a lot prettier. Although it has less cargo space, it's a great commuter car. Unfortunately, I experienced some engine compression issues. However, Lexus offered me 5k as a trade-in before quoting me a repair price. After doing some research, I found out that this issue had been happening to several people, so they knew about it. I was disappointed since this car has been maintained at the dealer since I got it.

Great dry road car and fun to drive. However, I had some trouble driving it in the snow. The vehicle control system prevented me from moving at a stop sign on snow/ice, which was a bit frustrating. I spoke to a Lexus dealer and found out that this feature is not available on this model, unlike other Lexus models. As a result, I decided to trade the car for a Camry, which has a vehicle control system lock out and performs much better on snow/ice. If you're looking for a car that can handle snow/ice well, I would recommend the Camry, which has almost the same expected mileage.

The car handles well, and it is beautifully designed. However, I found the Navigation system in my 2012 4Runner easier to use and with more options. Additionally, the mouse is more distracting than the touch screen. I also found it odd that there are no cup holders in the back. Overall, it's a luxury vehicle for a good buy, but I doubt I would purchase another. I may be moving on to BMW in a few years.

In August 2014, I purchased a brand new Lexus Ct200h and absolutely loved it. However, in January, I started hearing crackling and rattling noises coming from the dashboard. Despite several visits to the dealership, the issue persisted and I was eventually informed that the rattling is a 'normal characteristic' of the car. I have documentation that suggests the cold weather may be a contributing factor to the sound. I am currently in the first step of the Lexus arbitration process and am hoping for a positive outcome. It is disappointing to experience such issues with a luxury car, and I believe that no one should have to accept rattling in a brand new vehicle.

I've had the pleasure of owning this car for almost 7 years now. It's still more technologically advanced than most cars out there and drives like a dream, as you would expect from a Lexus. The savings at the pump still astonish me to this day. The trunk area is nice and roomy, and the back seats fold down to accommodate even a large wheelchair. I'm pleasantly surprised by how much I still love this car. The only downside is the size of the backseat. If you have smaller children, it shouldn't be a problem. However, if you plan on having adults in the back, it's not the most comfortable ride, as my now adult children can attest. I purchased it new when they were smaller. If you're in the market for a solid, dependable vehicle, the 2013 Lexus CT200h is definitely worth considering.

Congratulations on reaching the 30k mark with your great little car! It's wonderful to hear that you're getting such good gas savings, averaging about 40-45 mpg with a mix of city and highway driving. While it's unfortunate that the car is too low to drive up your driveway without scraping the bottom, it's great that you've found a solution by parking it on the street. It's understandable that with a baby on the way, you'll need a car with more space, as the back of this car is too small for adults and can't even fit a regular size suitcase. Thank you for the helpful tip about servicing - it's good to know that Toyota charges much less than Lexus for the same service!

For a small car, the CT200 is incredibly comfortable. It's one of the most comfortable cars I've ever driven on the highway. The navigation and entertainment systems make the trip more enjoyable. Plus, with an impressive 44.0 mpg (I've even gotten more than 50 at times), the CT200 is easy on the wallet. I highly recommend this car to anyone looking for a fantastic small car.

Your opinion of the CT will depend on your expectations. The car has a sporty appearance, similar to an Audi A3 or Mazdaspeed 3 5-door. However, it is important to note that it is actually a Prius that is enjoyable to drive. Personally, I found it to be a world-class compact luxury sport wagon that is both fun to drive and offers Lexus quality and comfort within its stiff chassis limitations. Additionally, it gets an impressive 40+ mpg, which is better than my motorcycle. The car is a blast to drive, has ample cargo room for my needs (I regularly carry a couple of bicycles + gear to rides & races), and the technology works flawlessly. It is surprisingly fast in Sport mode and even turns a few heads. Overall, I love this car and consider it a winner for Lexus.

I bought this car 'certified' used from my Lexus dealer and it was the best decision ever! The car performs beautifully and comes with lots of warranty. Don't believe the claims of 'slow acceleration' and 'poky' performance - this car takes off like a shot and corners very well when driven properly (sport mode works well). It may not be a supercharged JAG, but it's definitely within the realm of sporty cars, and for a lot less money. The build quality is superb, as expected from a Lexus. The cockpit feels just right for my 150 lb. frame and is very luxurious, almost like my wife's ES 350. There's plenty of room in the back for cargo too. Although the ride quality could be improved, I still love the car overall and hope to enjoy it for a few more years. I'm happy to report that this car has been super reliable with not a single problem at 24 K miles. At 32 K miles, I can confidently say that this is an awesome and fun car with total super reliability. Although the ride is somewhat firm compared to my wife's ES 350, I enjoy the crisp handling, almost like a go-cart. It may not be a big SUV, but I had no problems traveling 3,000 miles through the North East last year and consistently getting 42+ miles per gallon of regular gas. It's a shame that Lexus doesn't make this model anymore, I would definitely buy another one!
