I been to midas, Les Schwab, AAA inspection jiffy lube, orange Grove automotive, sales person said I need to take to another mechanic they use in elk Grove sine the mechanic they been using not fixing properly or in denial what's wrong, he said they aren't mechanics it's illegal that I brought car back to lot . I left it there feel unsafe after finding out what all wrong when mechanic said stop noise and salesmen said help me if I take to their people .I don't want car cause what else been overlooked it's about moneys I've spent rentals wage losses Safety first neglected . I feel they need to make deal right another car comparable in performance safety what this car suppose to be or give me $1500 back quash deal cause I don't like disrespect they have given me to be professional defrauding me not concerned my safety just$$$. - Summary: I was driving down the interstate on my way to work when my check engine light turned on and began flashing rapidly. I then began to get over to the shoulder and into safety when I heard what sounded like a loud dropping sound come from the engine and smoke started coming out of the hood. When I got pulled over to the shoulder, I ran and popped my hood and saw that the whole battery was on fire, within minutes the whole car was engulfed and I was told to get back for my safety by someone that stopped.

There is no way to fix the air bag issue as Kia has discontinued the part, and no dealer has the part in the United States. The vehicle is available for inspection. Dealer has confirmed the problem, but can't repair because the Kia part has been DISCONTINUED. The part that has been discontinued is the Control Module, Module Assembly Air Bag.

- Summary: Car was being driven on a neighborhood street at 25 mph a block and a half from home. The car just stopped. The electric system still worked but there was no engine activity whatsoever. There were no warning lamps or sounds prior to this event. The oil had been changed a week prior to this happening. Evidently from reading various reports online of the same type of events happening to other owners, it seems this is a known engine issue for multiple models of Kia cars. The car had to be towed to a garage where it was inspected and diagnostics were run. Dianostics determined: "found metal beneath valve cover and camshaft damaged due to apparent lack of oiling - no compression present." This car had approximately 150k miles on it and was a 2010 Kia Soul ! 4.2 0L 1975CC FI GAS N 2 model. The repair fix is a complete engine replacement at a cost of 5-6 THOUSAND dollars. Insane.

- Summary: Kia Motors Corporation (Kia) is recalling certain model year 2007-2010 Rondo, model year 2007-2011 Sedona, Sorento and Sportage, model year 2010-2011 Soul, model year 2008-2011 Optima, model year 2010 Forte, model year 2007-2009 Amanti, and model year 2009 Borrego vehicles. Originally, in April 2013, Kia recalled 623,658 model year 2007-2010 Rondo and Sportage, model year 2007-2011 Sorento, model year 2007 Sedona, model year 2010-2011 Soul, and model year 2011 Optima vehicles. In September 2013, Kia informed the agency that it was adding an additional 356,719 vehicles to this campaign. The total number of vehicles being recalled is now 980,377. In the affected vehicles, the stop lamp switch may malfunction. A malfunctioning stop lamp switch may cause the brake lights to not illuminate when the brake pedal is depressed or may cause an inability to deactivate the cruise control by depressing the brake pedal. Additionally, a malfunctioning stop lamp switch may also result in intermittent operation of the push-button start feature, affect the operation of the brake-transmission shift interlock feature preventing the shifter from being moved out of the PARK position and cause the Electronic Stability Control (ESC) malfunction light to illuminate.
- Consequence: Failure to illuminate the stop lamps during braking or inability to disengage the cruise control could increase the risk of a crash. Additionally, when the ignition is in the 'ON' position, the transmission shifter may be able to be moved out of PARK without first applying the brake. This may lead to unintentional movement of the car which may increase the risk of a crash.
- Remedy: Kia will send an interim notification to owners in May 2013. When parts are available, owners will receive a second notification and dealers will replace the stop lamp switch, free of charge. Owners may contact Kia at 1-800-333-4542. Kia's recall campaign number is SC098.

- Remedy: DEALERS WILL REPLACE THE WIRING HARNESSES FOR THE LIGHTS IN THE KIA SOUL VEHICLE'S ADVANCED LIGHTING SPEAKERS, AND THE WIRING HARNESS FOR THE KIA SORENTO VEHICLE'S INTERIOR ACCENT ILLUMINATION. THIS SERVICE WILL BE PERFORMED FREE OF CHARGE. THE SAFETY RECALL BEGAN ON SEPTEMBER 13, 2010. OWNERS MAY CONTACT KIA CONSUMER ASSISTANCE CENTER AT 1-800-333-4542.

My husband and I chose this car on a whim. We first noticed the leather seats and color, and later found out it was a special edition 'Ghost'. After learning about the 100 mile/10 year warranty, Kia's reputation, plus its safety record, we said 'let's do it' and bought it. My husband drives it, and all his buddies are impressed with how much room it has and how it looks. He carries his tools and golf clubs very comfortably. We love the features; it's fully loaded with Bluetooth, a sunroof, an awesome stereo, and more. It drives great, and he uses it for work, often driving to sites for work. Gas has been pretty good; it has a smaller tank than our Equinox, but the mileage is fair. The ride is smooth, and it's a fun car for us 40+ folks.

I recently purchased the KIA Soul and I am absolutely loving it! After driving a Jeep Grand Cherokee for many years, it was time for a replacement. My brother recommended the KIA and even accompanied me to the dealership. He was really impressed with the Soul over the Sportage, and I have to say, I liked both equally. However, I took his advice and went with the Soul, and I have not regretted it for a second! Living in Arizona, the tinted windows are a huge plus. Although it is smaller than the Jeep, it is just as comfortable. I must say, my Soul provides a quiet ride and feels solid while handling great. For the price, it is definitely a bargain. I have no regrets!

My wife and I were excited to get a Kia Soul, so we did some research and headed down to the Kia dealership. I have a MkV Volkswagen GTI, so I had high expectations for the Soul. The exterior styling is fantastic, although I wasn't a fan of the fake fender vents. The interior is spacious, attractive, and very well put together, although the materials are a bit hard and cheap. The car handles well and keeps up with traffic, although the straight line acceleration is only acceptable. Despite the thermostat getting stuck open at 700 miles and tripping the check engine light, the car was fixed under warranty the same day, which was great. Overall, it's a fun car to drive despite the lack of power.

I've had my car for just about 3 weeks now and I absolutely love it! The interior has about as much room as my Jeep Liberty, which is great for seating. The seats are really comfortable and the driving position is perfect. It handles really nicely on the interstate and has a little 'punch' to it when needed. Our Soul! was purchased used from a dealer with 33,000 miles. Despite the advertised gas mileage, we have found that it falls short of our expectations. I have reached out to Kia and am awaiting their response. Despite the exterior quality being lacking and the paint chipping easily, the Soul! is still a fun and spacious car to drive. As a confident Kia customer, I am hopeful that we can find a solution to the gas mileage issue.

I was pleasantly surprised when I bought a Kia. A friend recommended that I test drive one and I was sold. The fit and finish are equal to or better than Toyota, and the price is thousands less for more car. As a restaurant owner, I needed more space to haul catering orders than my MINI could fit.

I would recommend considering an engine larger than 1.6 liters, as the power output is quite low and the fuel efficiency is not great. The 2.0 liter engine is only slightly better in terms of power, and the fuel efficiency is still lacking. Additionally, the all-black interior can get quite hot in warm weather and may feel a bit cramped. A more neutral color scheme would be a nice alternative. Finally, the rear visibility is poor, which can make changing lanes and parallel parking difficult due to limited visibility.

I purchased the Soul on June 23rd after researching various car options. I ultimately chose the Soul due to its warranty and positive owner reviews. Unfortunately, after only driving the car for three days, the check engine light came on. The car has been in the shop for over 24 hours and they have yet to determine the issue, aside from the p0301 cyl. 1 misfire code. When I contacted the dealer who sold me the car about the situation, their response was less than satisfactory. They stated that they do not work on new cars often, so it takes longer to fix them when they break down. It's disappointing to experience car trouble so soon after purchasing a new vehicle.

I believe Kia marketed this car primarily for its stylish design. However, I purchased it for the same reason and was disappointed with my experience. The fuel economy did not meet my expectations, as I only get 15mpg in the city. I am unsure how this could be possible. While the interior and exterior are impressive, the quality of the interior materials is subpar. The ride is bumpy and uncomfortable, which detracts from the overall experience. I expected the sport model with the manual transmission to be enjoyable, but unfortunately, the stick shifter is imprecise and unresponsive. Additionally, I have concerns about the car's durability due to the poor quality of materials.
