Common 2023 Kia Ev6 problems
The Kia EV6, a popular electric vehicle, has had its fair share of issues, particularly with the 2022 model year. One of the most significant problems faced by the 2022 Kia EV6 is battery efficiency and charging system issues, which led to recalls and numerous customer complaints.
The 2022 model year also faced issues with rattling noises and misalignments in trim pieces, uneven panel gaps, and premature wear on upholstery.
Another issue that has been reported by owners of the Kia EV6, although not specifically tied to the 2022 model year, is a vibration experienced at around sixty or sixty-five miles per hour. This problem has been attributed to the tires, specifically a sound deadening foam that can get dislodged and vibrate within the tire
In response to these issues, Kia has been proactive in addressing concerns and implementing recalls and updates to rectify problems.
In summary, the 2022 Kia EV6 has faced significant challenges, including battery efficiency and charging system issues, build quality problems, and slow and costly repairs. While Kia has taken steps to address these concerns, potential buyers are encouraged to consider the 2023 model, which aims to build on the lessons learned from the 2022 model and improve overall reliability.
Is there a recall on the Kia EV6 2023?
Kia America, Inc. (Kia) is recalling certain 2023-2024 Niro EV and 2023 EV6 vehicles. One of the drive shafts may have been improperly heat-treated, allowing it to break under load and resulting in a loss of drive power. Tip: Recalls don't affect every vehicle of the same year, make and model.
What is the predicted reliability of the Kia EV6?
We expect the 2024 EV6 will have about average reliability when compared to the average new car. This prediction is based on data from 2022 and 2023 models.
What are the changes in the Kia EV6 2023 model?
New for 2023, the EV6 GT is the highest-performance version of Kia's electric crossover. It has the larger battery and dual-motor powertrain, but cranks up output to a formidable 576 hp and 564 lb-ft of torque.
Is Kia EV6 worth it?
Got it! Highs Unmistakable design, sweet driving dynamics, spacious cabin. Lows Its Hyundai Ioniq 5 twin is more affordable, some awkward infotainment controls. Verdict Whether it's the full-kill GT version or the long-range version, every version of the EV6 delivers a great all-around EV driving experience.

TIRES PROBLEM
- Date Of Incident: 2024-09-22
- VIN: KNDC34LA5P5
- Components: TIRES
- Summary: Car vibrated to degree it was hard to control. Initial tire balancing did not fix the issue. The tire was removed from the rim and a separated balled-up foam tire liner was found and removed. My concern is if this happens again in one of the other tires and causes an accident.
UNKNOWN OR OTHER PROBLEM
- Date Of Incident: 2024-09-13
- VIN: KNDC44LA4P5
- Components: UNKNOWN OR OTHER
- Summary: Vehicle does not charge at the full 11 kW it's rated for on a level 2 EVSE. It gets charge interrupted. I've had the SC311 installed which causes the car to lower the charging rate automatically instead of just dropping charge. But I still can't get the full charge rate. This occurs on my home level 2 EVSE, on each of the 12 level 2 EVSE ports I use at work, and out in town. The charging port gets extremely hot when charging and is not designed to pass the full 50 amps it's rated for. It struggles at anything over 25 amps. The extreme temperatures of the charging port can cause a fire or burns to people. The car needs to be recalled and the J1772 charging port and sensors needs to be replaced. This complaint is very common in the various EV6 owner's forums.
ELECTRICAL SYSTEM PROBLEM
- Date Of Incident: 2024-09-05
- VIN: KNDC4DLC3P5
- Components: ELECTRICAL SYSTEM
- Summary: I was pulling into a mall parking lot. The vehicle started beeping and popped up a message on the dash saying "stop vehicle and check power supply". The vehicle slowed to maximum 25 miles per hour. The battery died completely the vehicle has no power at all and cannot be driven or even moved off the roadway - there is no way to even get it into neutral now. The dealership wont look at the vehicle for 2-3 weeks even though it is only 1 year old. I did pull off the road before all this happened but it was so sudden and happened so quickly that I was very aware of how dangerous this could have been had I not heeded that warning immediately.
POWER TRAIN,ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,ENGINE PROBLEM
- Date Of Incident: 2024-06-03
- VIN: KNDC3DLC3P5
- Components: POWER TRAIN,ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,ENGINE
- Summary: My Kia EV6, AWD Wind has the exact problem described in this Ionic 5 video, [XXX] , which addresses your TSB 24-EV-003H. It appears my EV6 uses the same electric oil pump (EOP) as the Ionic 5, so I am not sure why the EV6 was not included in your TSB? The first 14 months I owned my car, I loved it, then in June after I started driving for 45 to 60 mins, the car ride started becoming rough or unsmooth. After researching it on the Internet and purchasing some diagnostic tools, I figured out, that when I start driving the car there is a demand signal for the EOP but the pump has no rpm, no torque and no DC current. Depending on driving conditions, it appears the rear motor stops propelling the car when it reaches 190 to 205 degrees and the front motor kicks in to do all the propulsion. Under the front motor propulsion, the car has a definite “lag” in responsiveness which I consider extremely unsafe as I expect to get an instantaneous response when I step on the accelerator not a lethargic response with no “zip”. It is similar to the difference between a turbojet engine and a turbofan engine. It has been to my Kia dealership’s service dept where they told me they duplicated the the switch from the rear to the front motor but after talking to Kia this condition was “normal” as the computer calculated this was the most efficient operation of the car I said that was BS and asked them if they checked the oil pump and was told yes. Bottom line, it’s the same EOP as the Ionic 5 and the EV6 has the same problems with it except there is no displayed fault code so Kia fails to acknowledge the problem. Also, based on what I see when the motors switch, the on board screen display shows the front motor with 5-7 bars of whatever the measurement is and the rear motor has only 1 or 0 bars but the OBD data shows both motors with the same rpm? Three EV6 problems: EOP inoperative, no fault code, data disconnect (OBD vs displayed data). INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)
ELECTRICAL SYSTEM PROBLEM
- Date Of Incident: 2024-07-01
- VIN: KNDC4DLC0P5
- Components: ELECTRICAL SYSTEM
- Summary: The contact owns a 2023 Kia EV6. The contact stated that the controls for the heating and cooling system on the steering wheel were too close and were a distraction. The contact stated that sunlight made it difficult to check the controls. While checking the features, the contact veered off the road. The contact stated that his hands lightly touched the controls, and he was unable to determine if the features were activated for the heated seats or the steering wheel. The contact stated that the controls needed to be less sensitive. The seats and steering wheel became hot. There were no warning lights illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer but was not diagnosed or repaired. The dealer referred the contact to the manufacturer. The manufacturer was contacted, but no assistance was provided. The failure mileage was approximately 4,000.
EXTERIOR LIGHTING,VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL PROBLEM
- Date Of Incident: 2024-07-03
- VIN: KNDC5DLE9P5
- Components: EXTERIOR LIGHTING,VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL
- Summary: The brake lights illuminate too early and often under [even very] gentle deceleration. My '23 EV6 GT is driven primarily in Level 1 (minimal) regenerative braking mode and the threshold for brake light activation clearly is far too low. The appearance of "riding the brakes" is dangerous because those who follow are not alerted when the driver transitions from [essentially] coasting to actually hitting the brakes. Also, at least in my mid-Atlantic suburban area, even the appearance of "brake checking" other drivers incites road rage, which I experience most days, especially when using cruise control, unless driving with regenerative braking disabled (Level 0). SC273 was necessary and prudent because the brake lights failed to illuminate under significant deceleration, confusing those who follow. SA541 was necessary and prudent because the brake lights illuminated inconsistently on uneven road surfaces, confusing those who follow. Another VCU software logic upgrade is necessary and prudent because the brake lights fail to distinguish between [essentially] coasting vs. significant deceleration, confusing those who follow, and potentially (demonstrably!) inciting road rage. - Summary: The contact owns a 2023 Kia EV6. The contact stated that the horn button had failed to operate on several occasions without warning. Despite the failure, the contact stated that the panic button located on the key fob would sound the horn once depressed. The dealer was notified of the failure and informed the contact that the vehicle needed to be left with the dealer to have the vehicle inspected at the earliest availability. The manufacturer was also notified of the failure and the contact was provided a case number. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 18,366.
SERVICE BRAKES PROBLEM
- Date Of Incident: 2024-05-31
- VIN: KNDC34LA4P5
- Components: SERVICE BRAKES
- Summary: A couple of months ago the breaks started making a strange grinding noise and it starts vibrating for a few brief seconds, but violently. There are no warning lights or any indication of malfunction. I took it to the dealership and they allegedly fixed it. Nevertheless, less than a month later, the noise came back, and not just a noise, but the vehicle attempts to stop abruptly without me engaging the breaks. It happens intermittently, and it is quite scary when it happens while driving high speed on a freeway. It creates safety issues. This is not my first EV. I am very familiar with EVs, regenerative breaking, and so on. This is not a regenerative breaking issue. I don't even know how to properly describe it. it is very unusual.
UNKNOWN OR OTHER PROBLEM
- Date Of Incident: 2024-05-21
- VIN: KNDC4DLC2P5
- Components: UNKNOWN OR OTHER
- Summary: I do not yet know if the recalled part is defective. The dealer asked me to bring in the car for inspection and if the recalled part is defective then the dealer would order the part and I would be required to bring the car in again to have the part replaced. This requirement of having the customer return to have a defective part repaired puts the customer in the position of having to drive the car in a defective condition that could cause serious injury, whereas if the dealer carried the defective part in inventory this would not be necessary. Kia America will not let the dealer order the part unless it is first diagnosed as defective. In view of the fact that the issue is not attributable to the customer's care or use of the car, rather to the manufacture of it, the dealer's convenience should take second seat to the customer's safety and convenience.
SERVICE BRAKES PROBLEM
- Date Of Incident: 2023-12-12
- VIN: KNDC4DLC7P5
- Components: SERVICE BRAKES
- Summary: Component/System Failure: The i-Pedal feature in the Kia EV6, designed for one-pedal driving through regenerative braking, consistently fails to stay engaged. This component is available for inspection upon request. Safety Risk:The erratic behavior of the i-Pedal function poses a significant safety risk. When the i-Pedal mode disengages unexpectedly, drivers must abruptly switch to using traditional brakes. This sudden transition increases the likelihood of delayed reactions and potential accidents, especially in heavy traffic or complex driving situations. Problem Reproduction/Confirmation: The problem has been widely reported by multiple users on forums and confirmed through personal experience. It has been noted that the i-Pedal mode disengages when the vehicle is stationary or when the battery is fully charged. Inspection by Authorities: The vehicle has been inspected by a dealer, but the issue persists due to a lack of awareness or understanding of the i-Pedal system among service personnel. No inspections by the manufacturer, police, or insurance representatives have occurred yet. Warning Lamps/Messages: There are no warning lamps or error messages indicating the malfunction of the i-Pedal feature. The issue is typically observed when the vehicle unexpectedly exits i-Pedal mode, requiring the driver to manually re-engage it using the steering wheel paddles. Assessment of the Incident:The inconsistency in the i-Pedal system's engagement appears to result from potential software bugs, sensor malfunctions, or design flaws in the regenerative braking system. This unreliability significantly impacts daily driving safety and efficiency. Recommendation 1. Software Update: Kia should release a firmware update to ensure the i-Pedal mode remains stable and reliable under all driving conditions and even after vehicle is turned off and back on.

- Summary: On [XXX], I went to charge the car at the Katy Mills location in Katy Texas. After fully charging the car, I went to visit my sister's house to visit. When I returned to the car it had completely shut down. I would not start and none of the electric components worked. I had to have the car towed to Westside Kia, who offered no assistance with a loaner car. I called three days later and was informed by Sabestian that the ICCU had blown out and the part is on National back order. There are three people in my home who are disabled and two young children who has to be driven to school. Upon further research about this ICCU unit, there is a total of 48,323 Affected Units and Kia Corporate has offered no assistance in buying this car back although it is still under the manufacturer warranty. If anyone can assist me with information on how to best handle this situation, I would highly appreciate it. So far I have paid over 2,000 in car rental fees, in lieu of my medical situation. POWER TRAIN,ELECTRICAL SYSTEM PROBLEM
- Date Of Incident: 2024-04-21
- VIN: KNDC44LA1P5
- Components: POWER TRAIN,ELECTRICAL SYSTEM
- Summary: Vehicle lost its power while trying to park. It could not be locked either. This is the second time this has happened. The first time, dealership said they replaced the auxiliary battery. When it got towed the second time, the dealership said, we only recharged the aux battery during the last complaint! Now, the dealership does not have anyone who can look into this issue for one week. Added to that, they do not have any loaner cars either! The car has 10,523 miles on it now. Car had 8000 miles during the first incident. We feel this is dangerous, unacceptable quality and not to mention, unbecoming of a vehicle brand not to give us a loaner car and expect us to wait a minimum of 10 days to figure out the problem.
ELECTRICAL SYSTEM PROBLEM
- Date Of Incident: 2024-03-30
- VIN: KNDC3DLC6P5
- Components: ELECTRICAL SYSTEM
- Summary: 2023 EV6 - The car gave a warning to check the electrical system. Called the dealer and they said to drive it to them. One minute later the tortuous symbol came on as well as the 12v battery. The car had no power even when the accelerator was pressed fully. Parked the car and the dash shut down. Towed the car to the closest Kia dealer and they diagnosed it as a faulty ICCU and Main Fuse. Only ONE in the entire United States. Unknown date of fix. Left me stranded as well as in a dangerous position.
ELECTRICAL SYSTEM PROBLEM
- Date Of Incident: 2024-02-11
- VIN: KNDC44LA4P5
- Components: ELECTRICAL SYSTEM
- Summary: Factory installed 12V battery died at about a year's ownership and about 22,000 miles, leaving me stranded in a remote area. I was fortunate to have a jump start pack to get home. I had the battery tested at an auto parts store and it failed. I replaced it with a lithium car battery with a built-in monitoring system that can be read from the phone. The car routinely runs the 12V battery down to about 50% while driving, then charges it up to 100%. This cycling behavior destroys 12V batteries. The monitor built-in to my lithium 12 V battery shows 26 complete charge/discharge cycles in the 2 months it's been installed. Cars should not fully discharge the 12V battery when being driven
POWER TRAIN,ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM PROBLEM
- Date Of Incident: 2024-03-29
- VIN: KNDC3DLC3P5
- Components: POWER TRAIN,ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM
- Summary: Vehicle does not reliably handle the 12V battery well. Many times, I see it sitting at 12.8 VDC when driving the vehicle. On a ICE vehicle, the charging voltage is close to 14V when running/driving. On 3 separate occasions, when I tried to "start" the EV6, the 12V battery was too dead to allow the car to be started. Basically stranded. This can be life threatening if this occurs in frigid temps. Or a hazard to traffic if/when the car tells you to "pull over safely, immediately". OK, I can "block the box" because my car died??? Kia and Hyundai need to address this issue that's common to their recent "luxury" EVs. With all the high-tech these cars have, why can't it manage the charge-state of the 12V battery? Tesla vehicles do not have this issue (I believe). Tesla EVs do "lose" their 12V battery over time, but that is similar to the 12V battery that eventually dies in a regular ICE vehicle. This 3rd time that this occurred, I called 800-KIA and had the car towed. So far, "they cannot reproduce the problem".
ELECTRICAL SYSTEM PROBLEM
- Date Of Incident: 2024-03-30
- VIN: KNDC4DLC9P5
- Components: ELECTRICAL SYSTEM
- Summary: Car was in garage and tried to start it. Would not start, although the dash lit up briefly and it showed the main EV battery was at 49%. Message then appeared on dash stating that 12 volt battery was discharged. Car then went completely dead electrically. No electrical power of any kind. Had car towed to KIA dealership and they have so far not been able to fix it. It is under warranty. There is a Kia recall, SC302, which seems to fit the problem with my car, but my specific VIN number is not on the recall list. The dealership ran diagnostics and said 12volt battery passed their tests. I suspect maybe a ICCU problem and that my car should be on the recall list, but is not.
ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,UNKNOWN OR OTHER,LANE DEPARTURE PROBLEM
- Date Of Incident: 2024-02-22
- VIN: KNDC3DLC9P5
- Components: ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,UNKNOWN OR OTHER,LANE DEPARTURE
- Summary: For about 6 weeks, after driving the car for more than 2 minutes, turning the car off and then coming back into the car within several hours (like when picking up kids from daycare, grocery shopping, going to restaurant, etc) results in no sound regardless of source, including ALL alert sounds for collision, blind spot, cross traffic, literally any and all sounds inside the car. Resetting the infotainment using the small reset button does not work. Unplugging and then replugging any fuses does not work. The only solution is after the car is turned off for several, typically 4 or more, hours. This is incredibly dangerous not just for the alerts, but because it renders Bluetooth calls impossible, resulting in having to use the phone manually while driving after trying to disconnect the Bluetooth connection. Others online have reported needing the amp replaced in order to solve the problem.
ELECTRICAL SYSTEM PROBLEM
- Date Of Incident: 2024-02-02
- VIN: KNDC44LA0P5
- Components: ELECTRICAL SYSTEM
- Summary: Issues with 12v battery dying with only 8,000 miles on vehicle. Knowing Kia requests an all day testing of the battery prior to replacing the 12v, I replaced it with a higher quality one. My car still did not start not long after that. Lots of folks online with similar issue and feels like Kia needs to do a recall with a known good fix. Blame put on 3rd party apps when it’s a design flaw.
ELECTRICAL SYSTEM PROBLEM
- Date Of Incident: 2024-02-17

ENGINE PROBLEM
- Date Of Incident: 2023-12-14
- VIN: KNDC4DLC7P5
- Components: ENGINE
- Summary: Component/System Failure: The main components that failed or malfunctioned include the vehicle's charging system and battery management system, leading to significant range discrepancies and charging issues. Additionally, the coolant system issue suggests a failure in the vehicle's cooling system. These systems are available for inspection upon request to further diagnose and address the underlying problems. Safety Risks: The safety of the vehicle's occupants and others was put at risk due to the potential for being stranded in unsafe or remote locations, as experienced on [XXX], in Pennsylvania. The inability to reliably charge the vehicle and the coolant system issue could also pose a risk of overheating, potentially leading to engine damage or failure while in operation. Problem Reproduction/Confirmation: The range and charging problems have been repeatedly reproduced and confirmed by both dealership service departments and independent service centers during multiple service visits. The coolant system issue was also identified and addressed during these visits, indicating a persistent and recurring problem. Inspections: To date, the vehicle and its components have been inspected by dealership service departments on several occasions as part of the attempted repairs. There have been no specific inspections by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives, or others outside of these service visits. Warning Lamps/Messages/Symptoms: Prior to the failure, there were instances of warning messages related to the vehicle's charging system and battery health. The first indications of these issues appeared shortly after purchase, escalating to the point of the vehicle being stranded due to insufficient charge. The coolant system issue was initially noted without specific warning lamps but was confirmed upon inspection during a service visit. UNKNOWN OR OTHER PROBLEM
- Date Of Incident: 2023-07-28
- VIN: KNDC44LA0P5
- Components: UNKNOWN OR OTHER
- Summary: On four separate occasions while driving on the highway between July thru November 2023; vehicle has had a loss of motive power (reduced speed) increasing risk of crash. Due to loss of motive power unable to accelerate to get out of way for merging traffic, also when approaching hills on interstate car would slow to speeds of less than 40 mph; unable to accelerate or move out of the way when fast approaching vehicles from the rear. I had taken the vehicle to a dealership on three occasions to seek resolution to only be told all diagnostic testing did not reveal any issues. Dealership has performed updates to the systems as well as recall update for ICCU upgrade, nothing to date has resolved this issue. I’m fearful to drive vehicle on highway that someone will slam into my car potentially causing harm or death.
POWER TRAIN,UNKNOWN OR OTHER,FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM PROBLEM
- Date Of Incident: 2023-10-30
- VIN: KNDC34LA8P5
- Components: POWER TRAIN,UNKNOWN OR OTHER,FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM
- Summary: I leased a 2023 Kia EV6 vehicle and on October 30, 2023, I was 45-60 minutes into my first road trip when a warning displayed in the dashboard followed immediately by a reduction of motive power. The warning displayed was a turtle icon and the words “Power Limited.” Traveling on CA I-5 when this occurred putting me in a very dangerous situation. I navigated several lanes of traffic, vehicle decelerating, to reach the shoulder and pull over then to merge into existing traffic traveling at a high rate of speed only to advance 7-10 miles before the warning display reappeared. I then repeated the process another 7-8 times until I reached my destination. Later that day, again, 45-60 minutes non-stop when the warning display reappears for the second time and I’m forced to repeat the process another 7-8 times to make it to the dealership. I was told the vehicle had a warranty defect in the VCSM which had to be replaced. On January 25, 2024, the issue reoccurred for a third time after and I drove the vehicle directly to the dealership. I was told the diagnostic test did not reveal any codes and they had a service advisor drive the EV6 home, over an hour to see if he could recreate the problem. The service advisor experienced the same issue, twice, and the diagnostic scan did not reveal any codes. My safety and well-being have been compromised on three-separate occasions and twice with a dealership service advisor. I contacted Kia Customer Care Center and opened a case #15946871 and a tech-line case #16141516 was opened with Kia America. NHTSA opened an investigation on the 2022 Kia EV6 and the 2023 Hyundai Ioniq 5 which shares the same E-GMP electric vehicle platform. The investigation confirmed “a range of loss of power and varying time intervals between the warning message and loss of power and all power to the vehicle was subsequently lost, immobilizing the vehicle.”

Please fold your tray tables and place your seats in their fully upright position as we prepare for takeoff! I am thrilled to share my experience with the GT. It is an absolute blast to drive, with snap-your-head-back acceleration even in normal mode. The ride is smooth and never jars me, and I find it much more enjoyable than my wife's GT-Line RWD. The seats are comfortable, and the safety features are plentiful and function well for the most part. For the average person, it has more than enough cargo space. While it may not be appropriate for a large family, I consider this car to be first and foremost a sports car and an SUV second. I took it on a road trip and had no issues with its range, and charging stations were easy to find and recharged the battery very quickly. The only downside is that there are some features available in the GT-Line that aren't in the GT, such as 8-way adjustable front seats, ventilated front seats, memory seats and side mirrors, and tilt-down reverse side mirrors. I feel that these items belong in a high-end vehicle, and I was disappointed to find that the GT doesn't have them. Overall, I have nothing bad to say about this car. It really is the most fun-to-drive car I have ever owned!

I was a bit apprehensive about my first EV driving experience, but I got the GT-line model and it turned out to be an amazing ride. The car is packed with cool and usable tech, making it a fun and enjoyable drive. Even in normal driving mode, it can pin you to your seat if you step on the gas, and in sport mode, it's a whole different story. I've even surprised a few teens at traffic lights who thought they could beat me off the line in their souped-up hatchbacks. LOL! The ride is smooth and comfortable, with a roomy cabin for both passengers and cargo. As a musician, I have a lot of gear, but all of it fits in the back with the back seats folded down, with room to spare. My dog also loves to ride in the back, although she's almost too tall unless she's up against the back seats in the cargo area. The car fast charges way faster than my friend's Tesla and gets pretty good range as well. We got a home charger installed, which makes it super convenient and easy to always remain charged and ready to go. I love the Yacht Blue color - it's gorgeous! A delivery driver even told me that it was the most beautiful Kia he's ever seen. I can't say how it does in snow because it's still summer time, but I suspect with AWD and snow mode it will do fairly well. All in all, I'm really pleased that I found this car - it hadn't even been on my radar until I went to a Kia dealership to look at a Telluride and walked by an EV6 on the lot. Once I saw it, I had to know more. I'm really surprised I don't see more of these on the road - to me, they look far more sporty than Teslas, and they have the same, if not better, tech and charging capabilities. But then again, I kind of like being the unique one in town. People definitely turn and look when this car goes by!

The car has a handsome front and a spacious trunk. The rear seats fold down easily to make a ton of space, and rear passengers have pretty adequate legroom. It's not your standard fat American SUV, but more like a wagon, so you don't have to step up into it. The inside is pretty spacious, but unfortunately, there's no space in the dash for things like glasses that you need while driving. The layers and layers of driver assist nanny stuff can be a real pain when first driving, but with patience, you can turn off most of that stuff. The seats are pretty good, and the driver's seat memory works. We just installed a 40A charger, which works well. However, note that the charging port is in the back fender, which may require a 30 ft cable from your charger box or the ability to back up easily into your driveway. The switchable menus for climate and other features work really well (and much better than any touch screen), but the buttons, especially the AC button, are a bit small and too close for easy use while driving. Overall, it's already impressive and will be a really nice car once we get past the minor issues.

Very powerful and smooth! I also used the power outlet to power my fridge and lights when our power went out. How cool is that?

The car is quite roomy and comfortable, although the sport seats could be deeper. It's difficult to determine the exact range, but it uses significantly less energy when going uphill compared to other hybrids and EVs. Living at 6000 feet can take some getting used to, especially with the screen. Some dealers are helpful, while others are not. Unfortunately, there are many unnecessary add-ons, such as paint coatings and $1000 window tint, but they were willing to remove them. This car is the most fun I've ever had, and it's screamingly fast, going from 0 to 60 in just three seconds! The handling is great, and there are many futuristic touches, such as the door handles that come out when you approach the car and the hatch that won't open if you're standing too close. The car even tells you when it's charging and when it's done, both through a voice and text message!

I purchased my 2022 EV-6 GT-Line AWD in May of 2022. It was a fantastic experience driving it, with its sporty design and advanced technology. However, I would like to share some important information with you. The AWD model has a maximum range of 274 miles, which can vary depending on the weather and your driving habits. It's important to keep the battery between 20-80% charge most of the time, and only charge it up to 100% right before going on a long drive. For daily driving, you can charge it to 80% which gives you 212 miles range and recharge at 20% which is 53 miles range, leaving you with a usable range of 159 miles. In extremely cold conditions, electric cars can lose up to 40% range. Additionally, the EV tax credit is non-refundable, which means it will only come off what you owe the IRS up to $7,500. To benefit from the EV tax credit, make sure you adjust your payroll deductions so that you will owe the IRS when it comes time to do your taxes. I hope this information helps you make an informed decision about purchasing an EV.

The car is a decent vehicle, but unfortunately, the service in the DMV area is not up to par. It seems that very few technicians are familiar with the car, and even dealerships that have technicians won't be able to service it for weeks. I had a critical battery management system failure after only 3900 miles, and I was unable to contact corporate. Local dealerships were not helpful either, and they even tried to find a way out of honoring the warranty. If you're looking for a reliable vehicle with good service, I would recommend a Tesla or another brand. They will at least provide you with the service you need.

I recently traded in my Audi Etron for the EV6 and I must say, I'm quite happy with my purchase. The car feels much lighter and more like a normal car, but with much faster acceleration. The finish is pretty good, although not as good as the Audi's, it's still acceptable. However, I did encounter an issue with Kia Connect not working due to some kind of dispute with the right to repair law in Massachusetts. This functionality is standard for any EV these days and I found it indispensable for my other two cars. It can also be used to track the car in the event it is stolen or make sure your kids have enough charge to get home. Unfortunately, none of this works in Massachusetts. Despite this setback, I still believe the EV6 is a great car and I'm happy with my purchase. If you're considering purchasing a Kia, just be aware of this issue in Massachusetts. Overall, I would highly recommend the EV6 to anyone in the market for an EV.

The ride is quite pleasant, but charging the vehicle can be a bit challenging. Unfortunately, fast charging stations are not readily available, and if you happen to find a level 2 charger near your home, it may take up to 12 hours to fully charge. If you're planning on taking long-distance road trips, I would not recommend this vehicle. However, I suggest checking for charging stations near your apartment, ensuring they are in good working order, and that the area is safe to leave your car charging for an extended period of time.

I've put 8000 miles on my Ev6 GT. As someone who buys 2-3 cars a year, I was initially impressed with the Ev6. However, after 6 weeks in the shop, I'm getting ready to sell it once I get it back. Unfortunately, the sound system in these cars is very weak to begin with and has been the source of my problems. When the sound system went out, I insisted that the dealer install a new amp, but they refused and only replaced a speaker that was out and had smoke coming from it. It took them 5 weeks to get the speaker and now they've figured out that it's the amp, so the wait continues. Meanwhile, they've given me a bare bones Sportage loaner car. As someone who holds manufacturers to high standards, I'm disappointed that the Ev6 does not pass at this point. Until Kia figures out the sound system issues, I wouldn't recommend buying it. When the amp goes, it takes down other systems in the car, which is a shame considering how much money they spent on the platform. It's a nice car, but it spends a lot of time in the shop. I can't help but wonder how many amps this thing is going to go through. It wouldn't surprise me if a Meridian class action lawsuit is coming.
