Infiniti Fx35 problems

The Infiniti QX70, formerly called the Infiniti FX until 2013, is a compact luxury crossover SUV produced by the Nissan-owned Infiniti luxury vehicle brand between 2002 and 2017. The FX replaced the QX4 as Infiniti's mid-size SUV. It shares the same FM platform as the rear-wheel drive Nissan 370Z, and it "made no claims of climbing mountains." Rather, its aggressive shape promised style and quick handling. The similarly sized Nissan Murano is based on the same D platform as the front-wheel drive Nissan Altima. The FX does not have a Nissan-branded equivalent and is not sold in Japan.
The FX introduced its second generation for the 2009 model year as the FX35 and FX50.
First generation (S50; 2003)
The nameplates FX35 and FX45 refer to the two available engines. The FX35 is available in two drivetrains, the RWD and the AWD, which are both fitted to a dual overhead cam 3.5-liter 24-valve V6 VQ35DE gasoline engine, with aluminum-alloy block and heads, electronically controlled throttle system, and low-friction molybdenum-coated pistons that makes use of the continuous variable valve timing which in part optimizes the opening of intake valves. This is also coupled with an electronically controlled super-wide ratio five-speed automatic with a manumatic shift mode that includes the option of sequentially selected manual gearshifts and downshift rev-matching.
The AWD FX45 incorporates a 4.5 L (4,494 cc) 32-valve V8 DOHC VK45DE gasoline engine with four valves per cylinder, microfinished camshafts with aluminum-alloy block and heads, low-friction molybdenum-coated pistons, titanium intake and exhaust valves, modular cylinder heads, microfinished crankshaft, lightweight pistons, super-silent single stage cam drive chain, and a Continuously Variable Valve Timing Control System that optimizes opening of intake valves. Development began in 1999 under newly appointed CEO Carlos Ghosn's NRP. Design work was completed in rapid succession in 2000, for late 2002 production. Designed prior to that, earlier on in 2000 under the "Bionic Cheetah" theme, the 2001 Infiniti FX45 Concept was introduced at the NAIAS in January 2001. From mid-2001, a new concept based on the production design was developed and completed in late 2001. Sketches were first released in late November 2001. The second-generation 2002 FX45 Concept was introduced in January 2002 at the NAIAS '02 as a thinly-veiled production FX (S50) and planned production was announced for early 2003. In January 2003, the 2003 FX45 made its debut at the 2003 NAIAS and went on sale January 24, 2003.
In 2003 for the 2004 model, changes were the addition of a standard eight-way power front passenger seat that replaced the previous four-way design, the availability of aluminum roof rails and chrome-plated 20-inch wheels. Also new were a dark silver metallic finish for the 20-inch wheels (non-chrome-plated), the addition of a standard HVAC filter for all models and the addition of a new Snow-Mode function.
In September 2004 for the 2005 model year, the FX range received enhancements such as a lane departure warning (LDW) system that helps alert drivers to an unintended movement of the vehicle out of a designated traffic lane. Infiniti's system monitored the lane markings to alert passengers via an audible buzzer that the driver is drifting unintentionally. The LDW system, which utilizes a small camera, speed sensor, an indicator, and an audible warning buzzer, was offered on models. The 2005 Infiniti FX was the first passenger vehicle to offer a lane departure warning system in the United States market. In addition to LDW, the 2005 Infiniti FX range was now equipped with standard roof-mounted curtain supplemental curtain airbags with rollover protection for front and rear outboard seat occupants.
Other changes included the addition of a dark chrome grille, headlight, and clear taillight accents to the FX45 (also available as part of the V6 Sport Package on FX35 models), a new key fob design for the Infiniti Intelligent Key system, and two new exterior colors, Sapphire and Sheer Platinum. Interior changes included a new standard etched aluminum trim.
Total 2007 sales of the FX45 were 1,598 units, about a tenth of the FX35s.

I purchased my 04 FX35 brand new, however, I have experienced issues with the front seat bubbling up. Despite having the seat cover replaced, the issue persisted. Unfortunately, the dealer refused to address the issue and Infiniti denied my request for a repair. While the car has an attractive appearance, the quality has been disappointing. As a first-time Nissan/Infiniti customer, this experience has left me with a negative impression and I am unlikely to purchase from them again.

I have been the proud owner of my FX for over two years now and I absolutely love how comfortable it is to drive. During my first trip, which was a 1200-mile journey, I felt as fresh stepping out of it as when I had got in! The engine is fantastic and has plenty of power. However, my main concern is with the 7-speed transmission, which I find to be quite disappointing. There are times when I try to pass other traffic and put my foot to the floor, but nothing happens for 1-2 seconds. Although once you get past this point, everything is fine, that lag can seem like an eternity. I had it re-flashed and that helped a little, but I believe that this is definitely something more fundamental. Nevertheless, if they were to fix this issue, I would definitely consider getting another one.

I traded my Explorer for this vehicle and I couldn't be happier with it. Everything from the style to the performance is top-notch, and regular maintenance is a breeze. The driveline can be changed with ease - simply remove the bolts, fill it with the proper fluids, and put the bolts back in. With the exception of the transmission, all fluids are readily available. Changing the air filter is a piece of cake, and while the spark plugs can be a bit tricky due to the wires and cover, it shouldn't take more than an hour. The only downside to this vehicle is that it has a lot of valve covers, and they tend to start leaking after 80K miles, which means you have to replace both. Even with the cheapest options (buying the parts and having a friend install them), it can still cost around $600. But overall, this vehicle is a great choice.

I have a similar problem to another post. My dashboard is in terrible condition. I had complained within the warranty period, but the service did not act on it. Although I should have sued, I did not. The service representative said that he had never seen or heard of such a problem. He suggested that I bring it in when the factory rep is here, but he's not likely to do anything. Although I like the car in many ways, I believe that for the price, they just can't compete against Lexus because of the quality of service Lexus provides. My wife had a Lexus for over 11 years, and her interior looked great. When we had a problem with the A/C

I bought a 2007 FX35 for my 19-year-old daughter in 2016 with 111,000 miles on it. It was a nice, clean car from Southern California in mint condition, loaded with Bose and sports package. I absolutely love the way this car looks (it's the bronze color with black interior) and it handles very well. However, the brakes are a bit too sensitive and the gas mileage is terrible at 14 MPG. Since my daughter mainly drives in the city and has a lead foot, I was hoping for better fuel efficiency. Unfortunately, I've had a few problems with the car that I was hoping to avoid by buying a Japanese car, but now I realize that the quality is not any better than the previous American cars I've owned. The radiator went out this week with 135K miles on it, the rear window switches just went out, the throttle body had to be replaced, and the fuel pump needs to be replaced now. I'm also very disappointed with the low-quality vinyl seating surrounding the leather surfaces, as there are many pulls and tears happening (the same thing is happening in my brother's 2007 G35). The vinyl is cheap and frustrating. So, while the car looks really nice, is powerful, and handles great, the quality is not what I was expecting from Japan, especially in this price range. My family has owned 4 Infinitis, but I would not buy another one as they are not very reliable and require many repairs, even my 2008 QX56. My brother's 2007 G35 uses a ton of oil for no known reason. As an old car nut, my experience has taught me that if you want Japanese quality, stick with a Honda or Toyota.

I love this car! It's fast, fully loaded, and has a lot of great features. However, it's important to note that there are a few things to keep in mind before making a purchase. Some Infiniti and Nissan vehicles that use this same motor have a notorious 'rattle' when starting the car, which unfortunately cannot be fixed. Additionally, the seats may experience some wear and tear along the edges, but can be easily fixed for a reasonable price. The trim on the outside may also show some signs of wear after a few years, but can be fixed for a reasonable cost. Lastly, the brakes may have some issues, but these can be addressed with proper maintenance. Overall, this car is a great choice for anyone looking for a fast and fully loaded vehicle!

The FX35 has been a disappointment for me. Despite paying a hefty sum of 43k for my 2005 model, I have faced recurring issues with the bubbling dashboard. The Infiniti dealer replaced it once in July 2008, when my car had only 28,000 miles. Unfortunately, the same problem has resurfaced 14 months later, at 40k miles. Despite being out of warranty by 2 months, the Infiniti dealer has offered to replace the dashboard for $1500, with no guarantee that the issue will not recur. This is a major issue that can significantly lower the value of my car. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend the FX35 to anyone.

I recently purchased an Infiniti FX 35 from the dealership in 2006. The car drove great for the first six months, but then I experienced an issue with the rack and pinion. Since then, I have noticed a consistent shake in the car when driving between 60 to 70 miles per hour. Despite taking it to the dealership four times, they have been unable to fix the issue and have even suggested that it is normal for the car. As a result, I am quite disappointed in Infiniti and have decided that I will not be purchasing another Infiniti in the future.

Hey there! Just wanted to let you know that there's a recall on the hatch. Also, the suspension might not handle uneven pavement or bumps in the road too well, so just keep that in mind. Oh, and you might need to refill the gas tank more frequently than you're used to. If I were you, I would have shopped around a bit more, but that's just my opinion. Hope this helps!
