I've been driving my 2023 Honda Civic Hatchback Sport Touring for about a month now and I absolutely love it! While on paper, the Honda Civic may seem more expensive than its rivals such as the Toyota Corolla, Mazda 3, Kia Forte, and Hyundai Elantra, it offers more than what meets the eye in terms of practicality, usability, and versatility. The Civic is now so large that you don't even have to step up to a mid-size sedan (like the Camry or Accord) anymore because it's big enough and can do everything! The drivability of the Civic is superior to the Toyota Corolla (especially the hybrid model) and it's way more fun to drive. The usability is also better than both the Corolla and Mazda3, which are too small. You get Honda's reliability and better resale value than Kia and Hyundai. The Civic also has the best visibility and the design is so open and airy. The interior has great quality and isn't overly complicated, with real tactile knobs and buttons everywhere. While some people complain about noise, it's because the glass is so big, the body rigidity is enhanced, and the tires are also wider than others (235 in Sport/Touring/Sport-Touring), all of which account for your safety and handling. Honda cares more about practicality, things you use every day, things that make you safe, and things that make it a good car. In conclusion, the new 2023 Honda Civic is a fantastic car that can be your only car, your family car that carries 3-4 people (or your kids) around, or go for a long trip. The hatchback can even substitute a small SUV (CUV) for cargo space. The design is timeless, clean, and grown-up, and you can drive this thing for 10 years and it won't feel old or outdated. If you want a good overall car, care more about practicality, and can give up some features that you may use once a month (or a year!), then this is the car for you!The Honda Civic is a fantastic car choice that you won't regret.

I was a bit hesitant to consider the 2023 Honda Civic Touring due to my occasional lower lumbar back issues, but I was pleasantly surprised to find that the gray leather seats are perfect and I am not experiencing any discomfort. During my test drive, I was also impressed with the 1.5 Turbo engine and CVT transmission, which performed exceptionally well on the interstate highway. The car also boasts good city and exceptional highway mileage. The body panel fit and Meteorite Gray finish, along with the gray leather seating and interior, are all very nice. While I would have given Honda a 5-star rating, there are a couple of points worth mentioning. Firstly, the carpeting is quite thin, and Honda could have used more sound deadening insulation to reduce interior noise on rough roads. Secondly, I was disappointed to learn that the heated steering wheel is not included with the heated seats. Overall, I am very happy with my purchase and would highly recommend the 2023 Honda Civic Touring.

This is my third Civic and I recently traded my 2018 Civic EX for a 2023 Civic Sport. I absolutely love the look of this car and it's a blast to drive. The handling is amazing! However, I'm having trouble getting comfortable in the driver's seat, which was never an issue in my previous car. Additionally, the lane assist feature can be a bit annoying, so I turned it off. While I don't personally use Sirius radio, it's a shame that it's not available in this model. I had it installed, but it was quite expensive and now I can't plug my phone in because the system uses the USB port. It's frustrating that there's only one USB port in the car. If I want to use Apple CarPlay, I have to unplug Sirius, which is inconvenient. For the price of the car, I feel like Sirius and a better driver's seat should be standard features. On the bright side, the interior is much quieter than my previous car, which is a huge plus!

There's everything to like about the 2023 Honda Civic Type R! I was lucky enough to get my Sonic Gray Pearl type R at sticker price, while most dealers had markups anywhere from 10-20k over MSRP. It's an absolute blast to drive!!

The car is beautiful, the leather is soft, and the power of the engine is great. However, I do wish it had a heated steering wheel like my previous car did, as it can get really cold. The ride can be a bit bumpy, as you feel every bump on the road. I took it back to the dealership, but they said nothing is wrong with the car and it's probably due to the low profile tires. Although I'm a plus-sized gal and find the front seat a bit small, I still think the car is a good fit for most people. However, I personally prefer the more spacious and smoother ride of the Honda Accord, which will be my next car. Lastly, while I appreciate the lane assist feature, I find that it sometimes pulls the car out of the lane and could potentially cause an accident. I hope there's a way to turn it off. This is a great car with excellent handling. The interior is comfortable and well-suited for a base model. The exterior looks fantastic. The digital instrument cluster is really cool, and having wireless Apple CarPlay is a great feature. The Bose system is more than adequate, in fact, it's the best Bose system I've ever heard. However, there were some downsides to purchasing the top tier $31500 Civic. The dealership was not very friendly and tried to add a 9k markup, but I didn't budge and was able to score 1500 off the MSRP. I recommend not paying anything over MSRP or simply walking away. The dealer also didn't follow through with the promise to tint the windows. Additionally, the road noise and vibration is inexcusable for a car costing this much. It's really bad. The exterior fit and finish is also poor, especially on the hatchback. The interior carpet isn't carpet, it's more like the jute typically found under the carpeting. The rear camera resolution should be embarrassing for Honda, and there are lots of interior pieces buzzing on rough roads. Lastly, there's no lumbar seat adjustment, which is a common complaint. Overall, this top trim screams cheap at every corner. If you want to avoid these cons, I recommend going with Mazda. Would I buy this car again? Yes, but only the base model as a daily driver. This is an economy car, and buying higher trims is a waste and you'll be disappointed.

I really appreciate the styling of this car both inside and out! Although I opted for the lunar silver in the touring model, which is the first Honda I’ve ever owned, I have to say I'm a bit disappointed. I purchased this car for its gas savings, and it was one of the few cars on the market that wasn’t price gouging! However, I didn't compare it to other cars in this segment. Regardless, at this price point, Honda could have done better. Unfortunately, Honda didn’t provide an option for lumbar support or a decent seat in any class of this civic. As someone who is 5’11 and 42 years old, I cannot get comfortable at all! The legroom is about an inch short, and I experience constant back pain. The lower part of my back has no support at all! I’ve tried various pillow types, but none have worked. I’ve been to the chiropractor several times since I’ve purchased this car, and now it’s parked, and I’ve gotten back in my truck. So be warned! Let's talk about the road noise for a bit. I’m not even sure if they have any sound deadening in the flooring at all, and if they do, it’s paper-thin! The tires are all-season Goodyear, which I’m sure makes this worse! If I keep the car long enough to change tires, I guess I’ll find out! I’m sure I’ll trade and eat the negative equity at some point! The drivers who don’t live in areas where the idiots opt to use coarse pavement won’t have issues, smooth surfaces are great! On the bright side, the engine and power are spot on, and I’ve had no mechanical issues as of yet (3200 miles). There are some personal things that, well, just irritate me that some won’t even care about. In no certain order, lane assist isn’t worth using, system warnings are too low even at max volume when the radio is on, Honda link app for this car is a joke!! Remote start is only useable via key fob, but you have to be in eyesight of the car when using it, or you won’t know it worked (parking lights flash 3x), then the whole car is dark. I’m not a fan of the windshield wiper change mode, nor the washer system.There is no digital gauge to display tire pressure, but you will receive a warning if a tire is low. This is a minor issue that I have noticed, but it is not a major concern. Another issue that I have noticed is that the paint is very thin. I was standing near my car parked under a tree when an acorn fell out of the tree, bounced on my hood, and gave me two chips that were fingernail deep! Overall, I think this is a great car with stylish looks and peppy performance. If you are considering purchasing it, I would recommend asking to keep it for a day or two to see if it suits your needs.

The paint quality on these Civics is subpar. My black 2023 model has a dull appearance with noticeable orange peel. Additionally, the bumper still has buff marks from the factory's attempt to fix the issue. As a Honda owner, I am disappointed with the paint quality.

I was a bit surprised by Edmunds Top Rated Awards car choice for 2023. Before heading to the dealer for a test drive, I read through several reviews, both positive and negative, to get a sense of other owners' experiences. After testing the new Civic, I found myself agreeing with many of the other drivers' complaints, particularly regarding road noise and driver seat comfort, specifically the lack of lumbar support and tight seat. I didn't have enough time behind the wheel to experience any of the other issues with the infotainment system, but I did find that the driving aids tended to be on the overactive side, which could be more of an annoyance than assistance. While the 1.5 turbo is punchy, the CVT lagging initial response tells me that a CVT might not be the best match for this engine. (The 6 sp. manual may be a better choice). Yes, the Civic is fun to drive around town, but it's not my first choice for my long commutes, let alone my road trips... All in all, while it's not my favorite Civic, fortunately, in this price segment, there are plenty of choices with similar road manners and a comfortable ride. (Mazda 3, here I come...)
