1994 Dodge Tradesman problems
The Dodge Ram Van (also known as the Dodge B-series) is a range of full-size vans that were produced by Chrysler Corporation from the 1971 to 2003 model years. Replacing the Dodge A100, the Ram Van transitioned to a front-engine drivetrain configuration. Mostly offered as a cargo van and a passenger van, the model line was also initially offered as a cutaway van chassis.
The B-series van line was produced across 32 years of production, making it among the longest-lived platform designs in American automotive history. Much of the exterior and chassis underpinnings saw only gradual changes during their entire production, with three distinct generations developed. Alongside its use by Dodge, the full-size van range saw rebranding during the 1970s for both Fargo Trucks and Plymouth (marking the debut of the Plymouth Voyager nameplate).
For much of its entire production run, Chrysler produced B-platform vans at the now-demolished Pillette Road Truck Assembly plant in Windsor, Ontario, Canada; prior to 1980, the model line was also produced at Saint Louis North Assembly (Fenton, Missouri). In 2003, the Dodge Sprinter (a rebranding of its Mercedes-Benz namesake) was introduced, replacing the B-series van entirely from 2004 to 2009. Since 2014, the Ram division has offered the ProMaster to the full-size van market, a rebranded Fiat Ducato.

Common 1994 Dodge Tradesman problems
The Dodge Tradesman 1994, also known as the Dodge Ram 1500, is a popular pickup truck that has been on the road since 1981. While it is known for its rugged durability and versatility, it has also been associated with several common problems that owners should be aware of.
One of the most common issues with the Dodge Ram 1500 is transmission problems. The transmission provides the link between the engine and the drive wheels, and power is sent from the engine to the transmission where it converts the power through a series of gears and forwards it to the wheels. In the Dodge Ram transmissions, sometimes the brake transmission shift interlock pin (BTIP) would get stuck in the open position, allowing the truck to be put into gear or slip into gear without pushing the brakes down. This could result in the truck jumping out of Park and into Reverse or Drive and rolling away while the engine is off.
Another common problem with the Dodge Ram 1500 is TIPM issues. The Totally Integrated Power Module (TIPM) is responsible for controlling many of the electrical functions in the truck, including airbags, power windows, fuel pumps, and starter motors. When the TIPM starts to go, it can cause a variety of electrical issues, including airbags not deploying, faulty A/C systems, coolant fans may stop operating, power windows will stop working, and more. This can be a significant safety risk, as well as an inconvenience.
Exhaust manifold bolts are also a common problem in the Dodge Ram 1500, particularly in models with a 3.7L V6 engine and a 4.7L V8 engine. The exhaust manifold bolts are prone to breaking, which can result in coolant leaks and engine overheating. The standard fix is to replace the exhaust manifold gaskets, which only cost about $15-$20.
Body structure issues are also a common problem in the Dodge Ram 1500. Frustrated owners have reported issues such as faulty lock mechanisms, defective paint job, rust buildup, and bumper holes drilled too large. These issues can affect the truck's appearance and functionality, and may require costly repairs.
Defective TRW crash sensors are another safety risk in the Dodge Ram 1500. Airbag control units (ACUs) are designed to detect a vehicular crash and determine which airbags to be deployed and when to activate the seat belt pretensioners. However, when there's an electric overstress, the ACUs in certain RAM 1500 trucks may be affected and potentially disable the airbag deployment. This issue was mostly reported on the fourth generation of RAM 1500, and is a huge safety risk.
In summary, the Dodge Ram 1500 is a reliable truck, but it is not without its common problems. Transmission problems, TIPM issues, exhaust manifold bolts, body structure issues, and defective TRW crash sensors are some of the most common issues that owners may encounter. It is essential to address these issues promptly to ensure the safety and longevity of the truck.
