Chevrolet Silverado 2000 problems
The Chevrolet Silverado is a range of trucks manufactured by General Motors under the Chevrolet brand. Introduced for the 1999 model year, the Silverado is the successor to the long-running Chevrolet C/K model line. Taking its name from the top trim level from the Chevrolet C/K series, the Silverado is offered as a series of full-size pickup trucks, chassis cab trucks, and medium-duty trucks. The fourth generation of the model line was introduced for the 2019 model year.
The Chevrolet Silverado shares mechanical commonality with the identically related GMC Sierra; GMC ended the use of the C/K nomenclature a model generation prior to Chevrolet. In Mexico, high-trim level versions of the Silverado use the Chevrolet Cheyenne name (not to be confused with the 2003 concept). Competing against the Ford F-Series, Ram Pickup, Toyota Tundra, and Nissan Titan, the Silverado is among the best-selling vehicles in the United States, having sold over 12 million trucks since its introduction in 1998 as a 1999 model year.
History
The Silverado nameplate made its debut for the 1975 model year, becoming the top trim level on all Chevrolet C/K trucks, slotted above Custom Deluxe, Scottsdale, and Cheyenne. For the 1968 model year (seven years before the Silverado), GMC C/K trucks used variations of the Sierra name (Sierra, Sierra Classic, Sierra Grande, and High Sierra). Even after the C/K series officially ended, GM still uses the CK and the CC in their current model codes, to denote a two-wheel drive (CC), and four-wheel drive (CK).
For the 1988 GMT400 model architecture, Chevrolet retained the C/K model nomenclature, with GMC branding its full-size line as Sierras. While sharing the same body and chassis, the model chronology of the Silverado and Sierra are different, with five generations of the Sierra, while four of the Silverado.
In 2018, at the NTEA Work Truck Show in Indianapolis, Indiana, Chevrolet unveiled the first medium-duty Silverado, expanding the model line to a 4500HD, 5500HD, and 6500HD chassis cab. Largely the successor to the 2003–2009 GMT560 chassis, the medium-duty trucks are exclusive to Chevrolet, with no plans for an equivalent GMC version. Instead, Navistar International (now partnering with GM) would sell the medium-duty trucks as a rebadged counterpart, called the CV. This is in fact a very similar nod to how the Avalanche did not have a GMC Yukon–based equivalent, but instead, Cadillac would take its place as the former's rebadged counterpart, the Escalade EXT.

Common Chevrolet Silverado 2000 problems
The Chevrolet Silverado 2000 has several common problems that have been reported by owners. One of the most prevalent issues is related to the 4WD position switch. Drivers have reported that their trucks would automatically switch between 2WD and 4WD, and the Service 4WD light would illuminate. This problem is typically due to a worn position sensor, which interferes with the drivetrain and affects fuel efficiency.
Another common issue with the Chevrolet Silverado 2000 is front wheel bearing failure. This problem is common in early Silverados, with rust issues developing in and around the hubs, which can spread to the wheel bearings. A rusted wheel bearing can become loose and push the ABS sensor out of position, causing the ABS to activate even at slow speeds. Other signs of a faulty front wheel bearing include a growling or humming noise while driving, uneven tire wear, soft-feeling brake pedals, and an illuminated ABS warning light.
The knock sensor is another common problem with the Chevrolet Silverado 2000. The knock sensors detect combustion issues that could cause catastrophic damage to the engine. When they fail, the engine may also fail. This problem is typical in LS-powered GM trucks, including the original Silverados. Over time, the rubber plugs sealing the sensors dry out and harden, causing the sensors to fail and potentially damaging the engine.
Lastly, the tailgate handle is another common problem with the Chevrolet Silverado 2000. The tailgate handle can seize up, making it difficult to open or close the tailgate. This problem can be fixed by taking off the trim bezel and replacing the rods. However, it is recommended to bring the vehicle to a certified repair shop for proper diagnosis and repair.
In summary, the Chevrolet Silverado 2000 has several common problems, including issues with the 4WD position switch, front wheel bearing, knock sensor, and tailgate handle. It is recommended to bring the vehicle to a certified repair shop for proper diagnosis and repair to ensure the safety and longevity of the vehicle.

ENGINE PROBLEM
- Date Of Incident: 2017-10-10
- VIN: 2GCEK19T1Y1
- Components: ENGINE
- Summary: ON THE EXHAUST MANIFOLD, THE BOLTS BREAK OFF AT THE HEAD OF THE BOLT WHETHER THE VEHICLE IS IN MOTION OR NOT. SOMETIMES THE BOLTS BREAK OFF FLUSH WITH THE MANIFOLD AND SOMETIMES THEY BREAK OFF FLUSH WITH THE HEAD. I PERSONALLY HAVE HAD 6 OUT OF THE 12 BOLTS ON MY ENGINE BREAK OFF. THE FIX IS TO DRILL OUT THE REMAINING PIECE OF BOLT (THREADED PART) AND THEN USE A BOLT EXTRACTOR TO REMOVE THE REMAINING PIECE OF BOLT THAT IS STILL SEIZED IN THE HEAD. WELL, THE MOST COMMON BOLT TO BREAK OFF OUT OF THE 12 MANIFOLD BOLTS IS THE ONE DIRECTLY IN FRONT OF THE DRIVERS POSITION. UNFORTUNATELY, THAT IS THE HARDEST BOLT TO REMOVE BECAUSE OF IT'S LOCATION. MOST SHOPS I'VE BEEN TO SAY THAT THE TICKING SOUND THAT YOU HEAR ONCE THIS BOLT BREAKS OFF IS A LOOSE LIFTER. THAT IS INCORRECT! THE TICKING SOUND IS ACTUALLY AN EXHAUST LEAK STEMMING FROM, MOST LIKELY, THE BROKEN BOLT DIRECTLY IN FRONT OF THE DRIVER. THE SOUND GOES AWAY ONCE THE ENGINE WARMS UP BECAUSE OF THE METAL EXPANDING WITH THE TEMPERATURE INCREASE. I HAD 3 MECHANICS UNDER THE HOOD OF MY TRUCK FOR ALMOST 9 HOURS TRYING TO REMOVE THE 6 BOLTS THAT HAD BROKEN ON MY ENGINE. THEY HAD BROKEN EVERY DRILL BIT IN THEIR SHOP (THE SHOP IS A 14 LIFT, 16 BAY SHOP) THAT COULD POSSIBLY BE USED TO DRILL A HOLE FOR THE EXTRACTOR JUST TRYING TO GET A HOLE FOR THE EXTRACTOR TO FIT IN AND THEN THE BOLT EXTRACTOR BROKE OFF IN THE LAST BOLT WHICH HAPPENED TO BE THE ONE DIRECTLY IN FRONT OF THE DRIVER. THEY HAD THE CROSS MEMBER REMOVED AND WERE PREPARING TO DROP MY ENGINE WHEN I TOLD THEM TO JUST STOP THERE. I COULDN'T AFFORD ANY MORE OF A FIX SINCE I WAS $1,800 DEEP INTO THIS ONE DAY AT THE SHOP AS IT WAS. THIS IS SUCH A COMMON PROBLEM THAT THERE ARE AFTERMARKET CONTRAPTIONS TO BOLT ON AND CINCH THE MANIFOLD DOWN WITH ANOTHER BOLT. THAT ISN'T THE RIGHT THING TO DO. THERE SHOULD BE A RECALL AND I SHOULD GET REIMBURSED!

- Summary: BRAKE LINE UNDER THE CAB BROKE DUE TO RUST. I LIVE IN EAST TENNESSEE IN AN AREA THAT DOES NOT USE EXCESSIVE AMOUNTS OF SALT ON THE ROADS IN THE WINTER AND ALWAYS TAKE VERY GOOD CARE OF MY VEHICLES. I WOULD NOT EXPECT THIS MUCH RUST ON A SAFETY COMPONENT SUCH AS THE BRAKE LINE. WHEN SLOWING TO TURN OFF THE STREET INTO MY DRIVEWAY THE BRAKE PEDAL WENT NEARLY TO THE FLOOR AND THE BRAKES WERE VERY WEAK. THERE WAS NO ACCIDENT CAUSED BY THE LINE RUPTURE. I CALLED THE LOCAL GM DEALERSHIP AND WAS QUOTED IN EXCESS OF $1,000 FOR REPAIR.

AIR BAGS PROBLEM
- Date Of Incident: 2018-01-23
- VIN: 1GC2KXC86BZ
- Components: AIR BAGS
- Summary: THE GM RECALL CAME OUT IN MAY, 2016, IT IS NOW JANUARY 2018 AND STILL NO REMEDY. THEY HAVE BEEN BUILDING MORE NEW VEHICLES FOR 7 MORE MODEL YEARS, WHAT AIRBAGS ARE THEY USING IN THEM? AND NOW THEY STAND TO GET MILLIONS OF DOLLARS FROM TAKATA. WHO IS HELPING THE CONSUMER HERE? THIS MAKES NO SENSE. THERE NEEDS TO BE AN INVESTIGATION INTO WHY THE AIRBAGS CANNOT BE REPLACED IN A MORE TIMELY MANNER.

- Consequence: WITHOUT THE AMBER REFLECTORS, THE VEHICLE WILL BE POORLY ILLUMINATED, POSSIBLY RESULTING IN A VEHICLE CRASH WITHOUT WARNING.
- Remedy: PRO-A MOTORS WILL NOTIFY OWNERS AND OFFER TO REPURCHASE THE LAMPS. THE RECALL BEGAN ON APRIL 3, 2006. OWNERS MAY CONTACT PRO-A MOTORS AT 323-838-2988.
- Manufacturer: GENERAL MOTORS CORP.
- Components: STRUCTURE:BODY:TAILGATE:HINGE AND ATTACHMENTS
- Summary: CERTAIN PICKUP TRUCKS HAVE GALVANIZED-BRAIDED-STEEL TAILGATE SUPPORT CABLES USED TO SUPPORT THE TAILGATE IN THE FULL OPEN (HORIZONTAL) POSITION. OVER TIME THESE CABLES CAN CORRODE AND FRACTURE WHEN LOADS ARE APPLIED TO THEM.
- Consequence: IF ONE CABLE FRACTURES, THE REMAINING CABLE MAY RETAIN THE TAILGATE IN A HORIZONTAL POSITION. IF BOTH CABLES FRACTURE, THE TAILGATE WOULD DROP AND STRIKE THE TOP SURFACE OF THE REAR BUMPER. IF ANYONE IS SITTING OR STANDING ON THE HORIZONTAL SURFACE OF THE TAILGATE WHEN BOTH CABLES FRACTURED, THEY COULD FALL AND BE INJURED. ON VEHICLES WITHOUT A BUMPER, THE TAILGATE MAY DROP TO A LOWER POSITION.
- Remedy: DEALERS WILL REPLACE THE GALVANIZED SUPPORT CABLES WITH STAINLESS STEEL SUPPORT CABLES. IN ADDITION, DEALERS ARE TO INSPECT THE TAILGATE HINGE AND REPLACE IT, IF NECESSARY. THE RECALL IS EXPECTED TO BEGIN DURING APRIL 2006. OWNERS MAY CONTACT CHEVROLET AT 1-800-630-2438 OR GMC AT 1-866-996-9463.
- Manufacturer: GENERAL MOTORS CORP.
- Components: SERVICE BRAKES, HYDRAULIC:ANTILOCK/TRACTION CONTROL/ELECTRONIC LIMITED SLIP
- Summary: CERTAIN PICKUP TRUCKS AND SPORT UTILITY VEHICLES MAY EXPERIENCE UNWANTED ANTILOCK BRAKE SYSTEM (ABS) ACTIVATION. THIS CONDITION IS MORE LIKELY TO OCCUR IN ENVIRONMENTALLY CORROSIVE AREAS. THIS RECALL WILL BE LAUNCHED IN THE "SALT BELT" STATES OF CONNECTICUT, DELAWARE, ILLINOIS, INDIANA, IOWA, MARYLAND, MASSACHUSETTS, MAINE, MICHIGAN, MINNESOTA, MISSOURI, NEW HAMPSHIRE, NEW JERSEY, NEW YORK, OHIO, PENNSYLVANIA, RHODE ISLAND, VERMONT, WEST VIRGINIA, WISCONSIN AND THE DISTRICT OF COLUMBIA ONLY.
- Consequence: THIS CAN CAUSE INCREASED STOPPING DISTANCES DURING LOW-SPEED BRAKE APPLICATIONS, WHICH COULD RESULT IN A CRASH.
- Remedy: DEALERS ARE TO REMOVE THE WHEEL SPEED SENSOR AND THOROUGHLY CLEAN THE WHEEL SPEED SENSOR MOUNTING SURFACE ON THE BEARING, APPLY RUST INHIBITOR TO THE CLEANED SURFACE, GREASE THE MOUNTING SURFACE, REINSTALL THE WHEEL SPEED SENSOR, AND CHECK THE PEAK-TO-PEAK OUTPUT VOLTAGE TO ENSURE THE WHEEL SPEED SIGNAL IS WITHIN SPECIFICATIONS. THE RECALL BEGAN SEPTEMBER 22, 2005. OWNERS MAY CONTACT CHEVROLET AT 1-800-630-2438 OR GMC AT 1-866-996-9463.
- Manufacturer: GENERAL MOTORS CORP.
- Components: PARKING BRAKE
- Summary: ON CERTAIN PICKUP TRUCKS EQUIPPED WITH MANUAL TRANSMISSIONS AND BUILT WITH EITHER PBR PARKING BRAKE SYSTEMS OR TRW PARKING BRAKE SYSTEMS, THE PARKING BRAKE FRICTION LININGS MAY WEAR TO AN EXTENT WHERE THE PARKING BRAKE CAN BECOME INEFFECTIVE IN IMMOBILIZING A PARKED VEHICLE.
- Consequence: IF THE PARKING BRAKE DOES NOT HOLD, UNINTENDED VEHICLE MOVEMENT COULD OCCUR, WHICH COULD RESULT IN A CRASH.
- Remedy: DEALERS WILL INSTALL A LOW-FORCE SPRING CLIP RETAINER FOR VEHICLES EQUIPPED WITH A PBR PARKING BRAKE SYSTEM. ON VEHICLES EQUIPPED WITH THE TRW PARKING BRAKE SYSTEM, DEALERS WILL INSTALL A REDESIGNED PARKING BRAKE CABLE ASSEMBLY. THE RECALL BEGAN ON JULY 29, 2005. OWNERS MAY CONTACT CHEVROLET AT 1-800-630-2438 OR GMC AT 1-866-996-9463.
- Manufacturer: GENERAL MOTORS CORP.
- Components: POWER TRAIN:DRIVELINE:DRIVESHAFT
- Summary: SOME PICKUP TRUCKS, VANS, AND SPORT UTILITY VEHICLES EQUIPPED WITH A HYDRAULIC PUMP DRIVESHAFT THAT CAN FRACTURE, RESULTING IN IMMEDIATE LOSS OF HYDRAULIC POWER STEERING ASSIST. ON CERTAIN VEHICLES EQUIPPED WITH HYDRO-BOOST POWER BRAKES, THE SAME CONDITION CAN RESULT IN LOSS OF POWER ASSIST FOR BRAKING AFTER THE RESERVE PRESSURE IS DEPLETED.
- Consequence: AN INOPERATIVE PUMP CAN CAUSE INCREASED STEERING EFFORT, AND IN HYDRO-BOOST EQUIPPED VEHICLES ALSO INCREASED BRAKING EFFORT, BUT DOES NOT COMPLETELY ELIMINATE THE ABILITY TO STEER OR SLOW THE VEHICLE.
- Remedy: DEALERS WILL REPLACE THE HYDRAULIC PUMP. THE CAMPAIGN BEGAN ON FEBRUARY 14, 2005. OWNERS MAY CONTACT CHEVROLET AT 1-800-630-2438 OR GMC AT 1-866-996-9463.
- Manufacturer: DURAKON INDUSTRIES, INC.
- Components: EQUIPMENT
- Summary: AFTERMARKET PICKUP TRUCK OVER-THE-RAIL BEDLINERS MANUFACTURED FOR INSTALLATION ON 1999-2004 CHEVROLET SILVERADO AND GMC SIERRA PICKUP TRUCKS. THE TOGGLE WING ASSEMBLY USED TO ATTACH THE BEDLINER TO THE TRUCK BED IS NOT ENGAGING FULLY IN THE STAKE POCKET OF THE PICKUP TRUCK.
- Consequence: THE BEDLINER CAN BECOME DETACHED FROM THE PICKUP WHILE IT IS MOTION, POSSIBLY ENDANGERING FOLLOWING MOTORISTS OR PEDESTRIANS.
- Remedy: DURAKON WILL ISSUE A PRESS RELEASE IN ATTEMPT TO NOTIFY CUSTOMERS THAT COULD HAVE PURCHASED THE DEFECTIVE BEDLINER. IF YOU PURCHASED EITHER A DURAKON ALLSTAR OF PATRIOT OVERRAIL BEDLINER SINCE AUGUST 1, 2003, FOR 1999 TO 2004 CHEVROLET SILVERADO OR GMC SIERRA TRUCKS, OR PURCHASED ONE OF THESE PICKUP TRUCKS WITH EITHER BRAND BEDLINER ALREADY INSTALLED, YOU SHOULD RETURN TO AN AUTHORIZED DURAKON DEALER SO THAT THE BEDLINER CAN BE INSPECTED AND, IF NECESSARY, REPAIRED WITH A NEWLY DESIGNED TOGGLE WING FASTENING SYSTEM, OR IF REQUIRED, REPLACED WITH A NEW BEDLINER FREE OF CHARGE. PLEASE CALL THE DURAKON HOTLINE AT 1-800-933-4200 TO FIND THE NEAREST AUTHORIZED DURAKON DEALER.
- Manufacturer: GENERAL MOTORS CORP.
- Components: STRUCTURE:BODY:TAILGATE:HINGE AND ATTACHMENTS
- Summary: ON CERTAIN PICKUP TRUCKS AND SPORT UTILITY VEHICLES, THE GALVANIZED STEEL TAILGATE SUPPORT CABLES THAT RETAIN THE TAILGATE IN THE FULL OPEN (HORIZONTAL) POSITION MAY CORRODE, WEAKEN, AND EVENTUALLY FRACTURE. IF BOTH CABLES FRACTURED, THE TAILGATE WOULD SUDDENLY DROP AND STRIKE THE TOP SURFACE OF THE REAR BUMPER.
- Consequence: ANYONE SITTING OR STANDING ON THE HORIZONTAL SURFACE OF THE TAILGATE WHEN BOTH CABLES FRACTURED COULD BE INJURED BY FALLING FROM THE TAILGATE. ON VEHICLES THAT HAVE HAD THE BUMPER REMOVED, THE TAILGATE MAY DROP EVEN LOWER. ADDITIONALLY, IF THERE IS CARGO ON THE TAILGATE THE CARGO MAY FALL OFF IF THE SUPPORT CABLES FRACTURE.
- Remedy: DEALERS WILL REPLACE THE CABLES. INTERIM OWNER NOTIFICATION BEGAN ON APRIL 7, 20004. THE RECALL BEGAN ON SEPTEMBER 24, 2004, WHEN REPLACEMENT PARTS WERE AVAILABLE, AND WILL CONTINUE THROUGH OCTOBER 29, 2004. OWNERS SHOULD CONTACT CADILLAC AT 1-866-982-2339, CHEVROLET AT 1-800-630-2438 OR GMC AT 1-866-996-9463, OR VISIT WWW.MYGMLINK.COM, AND ENTER YOUR VEHICLE IDENTIFICATION NUMBER.
- Manufacturer: GENERAL MOTORS CORP.
- Components: AIR BAGS:FRONTAL:SENSOR/CONTROL MODULE-INACTIVE
- Summary: ON CERTAIN PICKUP AND UTILITY TRUCKS, SOME OF THESE VEHICLES HAVE AN AIR BAG SENSING DIAGNOSTIC MODULE (SDM) WHICH CONTAINS AN ANOMALY THAT COULD RESULT IN THE DRIVER AND PASSENGER'S AIR BAG FAILING TO DEPLOY DURING CERTAIN FRONTAL CRASHES.
- Consequence: IN A VEHICLE CRASH, FRONT SEAT OCCUPANTS MAY RECEIVE MORE SEVERE INJURIES.
- Remedy: DEALERS WILL RECALIBRATE THE SDM ON THE AFFECTED VEHICLES. OWNER NOTIFICATION BEGAN AUGUST 28, 2002. OWNERS WHO TAKE THEIR VEHICLES TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER ON AN AGREED UPON SERVICE DATE AND DO NOT RECEIVE THE FREE REMEDY WITHIN A REASONABLE TIME SHOULD CONTACT CHEVROLET AT 1-800-222-1020 OR GMC AT 1-800-462-8782.
- Manufacturer: GENERAL MOTORS CORP.
- Components: SERVICE BRAKES, HYDRAULIC:FOUNDATION COMPONENTS:HOSES, LINES/PIPING, AND FITTINGS
- Summary: VEHICLE DESCRIPTION: LIGHT DUTY PICKUP TRUCKS AND SPORT UTILITY VEHICLES. SOME OF THESE VEHICLES HAVE A CLEARANCE CONDITION BETWEEN THE FRONT RIGHT-HAND BRAKE PIPE AND THE BODY CROSS SILL THAT COULD DECREASE TO THE POINT OF ALLOWING CONTACT DURING THE LIFE OF THE VEHICLE. IF CONTACT OCCURS AND THE BRAKE PIPE BECOMES DAMAGED, IN HALF OF THE BRAKE SYSTEM THERE CAN BE A LOSS OF BRAKE FLUID AND PRESSURE. THE BRAKE WARNING LAMP WILL BE ACTIVATED WHEN THE BRAKE FLUID LEVEL REACHES THE INDICATOR LIMIT.
- Consequence: DURING BRAKING, THE PEDAL WILL BE LOWER THAN NORMAL AND STOPPING DISTANCES WILL BE LONGER. IF THIS OCCURS WHEN STOPPING DISTANCE IS LIMITED, A CRASH COULD OCCUR.
- Remedy: DEALERS WILL INSPECT THE FRONT RIGHT-HAND BRAKE PIPE FOR WEAR. IF THERE ARE SIGNS OF WEAR, THIS SECTION OF THE BRAKE PIPE WILL BE REPLACED WITH A NEW DESIGNED BRAKE PIPE SECTION. IF THERE ARE NOT SIGNS OF WEAR ON THE BRAKE PIPE, THE DEALER WILL INSTALL A SPACER CLIP TO ENSURE SUFFICIENT CLEARANCE BETWEEN THE BRAKE PIPE AND THE BODY CROSS SILL.
- Manufacturer: GENERAL MOTORS CORP.
- Components: SERVICE BRAKES, HYDRAULIC:FOUNDATION COMPONENTS:DISC:CALIPER
- Summary: THIS IS NOT A SAFETY RECALL IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE SAFETY ACT. HOWEVER, IT IS DEEMED A SAFETY IMPROVEMENT CAMPAIGN BY THE AGENCY. VEHICLE DESCRIPTION: 1/2 TON LIGHT DUTY PICKUP TRUCKS. ON CERTAIN TRUCKS, FAILURE TO FOLLOW THE SERVICE PROCEDURE SET FORTH IN THE SERVICE MANUAL FOR REMOVAL OF THE FRONT BRAKE CALIPER CAN RESULT IN MOVEMENT OF THE FRONT BRAKE HOSE RELATIVE TO ITS KNUCKLE MOUNTING BRACKET. IF THIS MOVEMENT RESULTS IN INCREASED LENGTH BETWEEN THE BRACKET AND THE BANJO FITTING THAT ATTACHES TO THE BRAKE CALIPER, IT IS POSSIBLE FOR THE BRAKE HOSE TO COME IN CONTACT WITH THE WHEEL RIM.
- Consequence: THIS CONTACT WITH THE WHEEL RIM COULD, IN TIME, CAUSE THE BRAKE HOSE TO BECOME WORN TO THE POINT THAT BRAKE FLUID LEAKAGE COULD OCCUR. IF THIS OCCURRED, LOSS OF FRONT BRAKES IS POSSIBLE.
- Remedy: DEALERS WILL ATTACH A NOTICE LABEL TO THE FRONT BRAKE HOSES STATING THAT THE CALIPERS MUST BE SUPPORTED WHEN REMOVED.
- Manufacturer: GENERAL MOTORS CORP.
- Components: SERVICE BRAKES, HYDRAULIC:ANTILOCK/TRACTION CONTROL/ELECTRONIC LIMITED SLIP
- Summary: VEHICLE DESCRIPTION: LIGHT DUTY PICKUP TRUCKS EQUIPPED WITH 4-WHEEL DISC BRAKES. SOME OF THESE VEHICLES HAVE AN ANTILOCK BRAKE SYSTEM (ABS) MOTOR CONTAINING AN OUT-OF-SPECIFICATION SPRING CLIP. THIS CLIP COULD ALLOW THE MOTOR BEARING TO BECOME MISALIGNED. IF MISALIGNMENT OCCURS, EVENTUALLY THE ABS WOULD BE NON-FUNCTIONAL.
- Consequence: THE BASE BRAKES WOULD REMAIN FULLY FUNCTIONAL, BUT THE DYNAMIC REAR PROPORTIONING (DRP) SYSTEM, WHICH OPTIMIZES FRONT TO REAR BRAKE BALANCE, WOULD BECOME INOPERATIVE.
- Remedy: DEALERS WILL REPLACE THE BRAKE PRESSURE MODULE VALVE ASSEMBLY.
