- Summary: PASSENGER SIDE HEADLAMP FAILED AFTER CONDENSATION BUILD UP IN THE HEADLIGHT ASSEMBLY. I HAVE THE HID HEADLAMPS AND CHANGED THE BULBS CHECKED ALL THE FUSES AND RELAYS BUT IT STILL WILL NOT WORK CONSISTENTLY. I TOOK IT TO THE DEALER AND WAS TOLD THE ASSEMBLY NEEDED TO BE CHANGED AND IT WAS NOT COVERED AS BECAUSE THE CAR IS OUT OF WARRANTY AT 53000 MILES. THE COST IS $1695 THEY SAID THE LIGHT FAILED BECAUSE THE SEAL IS BAD AND THIS ALLOWED CONDENSATION TO BUILD UP. I CHECKED AROUND AND NOTICED THAT THIS IS AN ONGOING PROBLEM FOR CADILLAC SRX 2010 MODEL YEAR AND NEW OWNERS. SINCE THE PROBLEM IS SO WIDE SPREAD IT SEEMS MORE LIKE AN ENGINEERING DEFECT THAT SHOULD BE COVERED EITHER BY A RECALL OR AN EXTENSION IN THE WARRANTY. SEEMS UNFAIR TO MAKE THE CONSUMER HAVE TO PAY FOR THIS.

- Summary: DRIVING HOME ON THE INTERSTATE AT THE POSTED 70 MPH SPEED MY ELECTRONIC STABILITY LIGHT GOES OFF AND THE CARS ENGAGED SUDDENLY BEGINS TO RAPIDLY POWER DOWN. A FEW MOMENTS LATER I WAS UNABLE TO MAINTAIN 40 MPH AS THE TRANSITION REVIVED TO 2X NORMAL LEVELS. I WAS FORCED TO PULL OFF THE INTERSTATE AND TURN OFF THE CAR FOR A FEW MINUTES, RESTART THE CAR AND DRIVE WHILE THE TRANSITION LIGHT REMAINED LIGHT UP. OVER THE PAST COUPLE WEEKS THE ELECTRONIC STABILITY LIGHT/ENGINE POWERING DOWN SITUATION HAS BECOME MORE FREQUENT AND ALMOST A DAILY SITUATION I EXPECT--NOT A COMFORTING FEELING WHEN ON THE INTERSTATE. I TOOK THE CAR THE A LOCAL MECHANIC TODAY AND FOR ONCE THE TRANSMITION LIGHT WAS NOT ON AND THE TRACTION STABILITY SITUATION WAS NOT A PROBLEM--GO FIGURE. ANYWAY, THE MECHANIC TESTED THE CAR AND SAID THE ISSUE APPEARED TO BE MOISTURE GETTING INTO THE ACCELERATOR SENSOR AND CAUSING THE ISSUE. HE WAS NOT 100% SURE AND RECOMMENDED I KEEP DRIVING THE CAR AND BRING IN ONCE THE ISSUE POPS UP AGAIN--SURE IT WILL. DIFFICULT TO PROVE WITHOUT BEING AN EXPERT MECHANIC BUT I BELIEVE THERE IS AN ENGINEERING DEFECT WITH THE CAR CREATING THIS ISSUE AND THE PART SHOULD BE RECALLED AND REPLACED WITH A NEWLY ENGINEERED MOISTURE SEALED PART. ALL ACCELERATION ISSUES LIKE THIS ARE VERY SERIOUS AS GM SHOULD ACCEPT RESPONSIBILITY TO FIX. I REPLACED THE SAME SENSOR APPROXIMATELY 2 YEARS AGO AND PROBLEM PERSISTENT OVER THAT SAME PERIOD OF TIME. NOT WHAT YOU EXPECT WHEN YOU INVEST IN THE CADILLAC BRAND. *JS

- Summary: LED TAILLIGHTS ARE DISTRACTING, ESPECIALLY THOSE WITH LOW REFRESH RATES. THE HUMAN RETINA TAKES 1MS TO TAKE A SNAPSHOT OF THE WORLD, SO LIGHTS WITH A REFRESH RATE BELOW 1000HZ SHOULD BE BANNED FROM THE ROADS. CADILLACS IN PARTICULAR ARE BAD, WITH REFRESH RATES APPARENTLY AROUND 60HZ OR SO. I CAN USUALLY SPOT CADDIES FROM A DISTANCE ON THE FREEWAY AT NIGHT DUE TO HOW MUCH THEIR TAILLIGHTS FLICKER. IT IS EXTREMELY ANNOYING, BEING THE EQUIVALENT TO FLASHING A LIGHT ON AND OFF RAPIDLY, AND DISTRACTS ME AWAY FROM THE REST OF THE ROAD. ONE SUCH TIME NEARLY CAUSED AN ACCIDENT AS MY ATTENTION KEPT GETTING DISTRACTED BY AN LED TAILLIGHT AND I NEARLY MISSED AN EMERGENCY BRAKE IN THE LANE AHEAD OF ME. PLEASE BAN ALL LED TAILLIGHTS, OR LED TAILLIGHTS WITH A REFRESH RATE BELOW 1000HZ. *TR

In 2008, we just had our STS delivered and drove it all the way from East Hampton Long Island to Myrtle Beach South Carolina. My wife and kids absolutely loved the ride on this car, even more than our former BMW 5 series. We were pleasantly surprised when the car's computer showed an impressive 21.6 combined MPG, and we were able to get 27 MPG all day long on the highway, running on 87 octane fuel!

Hey there! I just wanted to share that I bought this amazing car brand new off the showroom floor. Unfortunately, I didn't get to use it much since I also have another vehicle and a business SUV. Looking back, I regret not using it more often.

Love the car. But I found it a bit difficult to get out of it. The doors seem a bit small. The GPS is advanced and may be difficult to learn at first. I suggest that the dealer should have someone specifically spend 30 to 45 minutes with you to review it. This would make life easier for the first few days. Overall, I am very happy with the car and it is doing better on gas after 350 miles than I expected.

This was my first Cadillac and I purchased it new in December 2009. It had been on the dealer lot for 1.5 years and I got a great deal. After reading all of the reviews, I was worried about build quality and reliability, but I have been very happily surprised. The ride quality is fantastic, and the handling and V8 performance are great. I am in my mid-40s and looked at Lexus, Infiniti, and Mercedes-Benz, but the Cadillac exceeded those other car makers for the price. My younger friends have all been impressed with this car and are considering a Cadillac instead of a BMW or Lexus. I hope that GM will continue to improve the model. At this time, I don't think I will purchase anything but a Cadillac again. I have been extremely satisfied.

I originally wanted the performance of the 8 cyl. Northstar, but with $3.00 gas, I settled for the 302hp DI 6 cylinder. Although I generally prefer cars with 8 cylinders, I must say that this STS motor is remarkable. It accelerates like an 8, sounds great, and delivers exceptional gas mileage. I was pleasantly surprised when I averaged 31mpg on a 300-mile highway trip, and the trip computer confirmed it. The sport gears work well if you want to drive aggressively, and so far, I have had no maintenance issues. The handling is good for a 4100lb luxury car, but I must admit that I lean towards more agile cars that have suspension treatment like the V-series. The STS price (after the deal) is a lot less than the E350 and 530.

I've heard so many good things about this car! It looks really nice and the quality is great. However, the controls and navigation system are quite complicated. It can take some time and studying of the manual to change the hour on the clock. The car feels heavy, like you're in an electric train, but if you push it hard, it does respond. Although, it's probably better to go for a v8. The gas tank is also quite small, which is a shame. The seats are a bit hard and the lights aren't the best, but the music system is great. It's not the most agile car, but with a v8 it would be much better!
