SERVICE BRAKES PROBLEM
- Date Of Incident: 2022-08-02
- VIN: 1G6DZ5RW3N0
- Components: SERVICE BRAKES
- Summary: I purchased vehicle on 7/28/22 from Bayview Cadillac in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. On August 2, 2022, I noticed that my brakes were making a loud, harsh, scraping noise when coming to a full stop. Brakes also felt like they were going to lock up or stutter. On August 3, 2022, I brought the car back to the dealership to be serviced. On August 4, 2022, dealership told me that GM and Brembo (brake manufacturer) KNEW of this issue and were working on a bulletin to fix issue but that the bulletin would not be issued until late 2022 or early 2023. GM refused to take back vehicle in this dangerous condition with faulty brakes. Apparently ALL Brembo brakes across many different car manufacturers are having same issue. GM states it is "not a safety concern", however, the brakes are clearly faulty and dangerous. NHTSA should investigate this issue before someone is really hurt or dead.

This car is fantastic! I've only driven it for 1100 miles, but I'm already well pleased with it. I highly recommend the upgraded V6 Twin Turbocharged engine - it's so much fun to drive with the extra power. The interior is of great quality, but the handling and performance of the V6 is what really sold me on this car. I have the premium luxury model with the optional V6 engine in crystal white tri-coat paint with the maple sugar interior, and it looks absolutely fantastic. Overall, GM has done a solid job with this one!

Hi there! I hope you're doing well. I just wanted to share my experience with my new '22 CT5-V (not the Blackwing). I traded in my 2014 XTS vSport Caddy for it about 1 1/2 years ago and got a great deal. Although it was a bit pricey, it was definitely worth it. The car is absolutely stunning in vivid white and turns heads wherever I go. I've put about 10K miles on it so far and haven't had any problems. The car has multiple driving modes depending on your mood, which is really cool. It's a bit smaller and stiffer than my XTS, but I actually prefer it. Thanks for listening!

You'll love the excellent acceleration and the sports feel of this car. The interior is also well-appointed, with easy access to the control center screen.

This car is truly amazing! It's one of the most comfortable cars I've ever driven, and it has so many great features. From the heads-up display to the massaging seats, this 2020-2024 CT5 has it all. It's definitely my favorite car!

The 6 cylinder had a lot of pickup, smooth and quite. However, I was a bit disappointed with the interior as it had a lot of plastic and the backseat lacked headroom. Considering the price of $50,000, I was hoping for more luxury.

The car doesn't handle well in the snow and there's a noticeable draft of cold air around the center console near the shifter. Do you have any idea where it could be coming from?

Hello! I've been driving the V6 3.0 liter version of this car for a few months now and I must say that I was a bit surprised by some aspects of it, given that this is supposedly a top-of-the-line vehicle. When I compare it to my old BMW 340i which had the same specs - 3.0 liter V6, 335 hp - it's like night and day. In the 340i, you just had to look at the gas pedal and it was in a different time zone already, whereas the CT5 was hopelessly lagging in comparison. However, I must say that the cameras are superb, much better than on the BMW. Although there are some small irritations, such as having to engage the auto hold button every time I start the car, which is a bit nuts, the interior and buttons feel a bit cheap. Overall, it's a decent car with some great features.

The term Luxury may be overstated for the base CT5, as it lacks some features that are commonly found in vehicles with a similar price point, such as Toyota, Honda, or Lexus models that cost $37,000+. However, the CT5 still performs well and looks great. It is important to note that the CT5 does not include features such as front and rear parking sensors, lane departure, adaptive cruise control, blind spot warning, auto-adjusting mirrors when backing, ventilated front seats (front), or memory seats, which are available in the aforementioned vehicles.

Sorry to hear about the issues you've been having with your car. It sounds like the brakes have been squealing since day one and the radio control is difficult to use. Additionally, the small trunk and web design are not to your liking. It's frustrating that you can't get your favorite exterior color and that there is no maintenance help available. Is there anything else you need assistance with?
