2012 Bmw 335xi problems
The BMW 335 is a six-cylinder sports sedan produced by the Bavarian firm BMW between 1939 and 1941.
Conception
Commercial success for the BMW 326, introduced in 1936, encouraged a move upmarket. This would involve BMW in challenging the dominance then enjoyed by Mercedes-Benz over a lucrative sector, with their 320 and 340 models.
BMW were producing, in their Eisenach plant, the model that would form the basis for the larger car. The 326 had already spawned successful sporting derivatives. The 335 was also to be based on the 326, but with the wheelbase and chassis extended to accommodate a 3485 cc M335 six-cylinder in-line engine. Despite clearly reflecting the approach taken with existing BMW units, this was an entirely new design. Claimed maximum power output of 90 bhp (67 kW) was lower than the values advertised for comparably sized and powered Jaguars of the period, it achieved full power at only 3500 rpm. With 90 bhp (67 kW), the car had top speed of 145 km/h (90 mph).
The engine’s additional weight prompted the fitting of larger brake drums and wheels than on the 326. The 335 sustained BMW’s reputation for innovation, being the first car to offer a four-speed gear box with full synchromesh on all ratios.
The car was sold as a four-door sedan and as a two- or (more unusually) four-door cabriolet.

Common 2012 Bmw 335xi problems
The BMW 335xi 2012 is a luxury midsize car that is generally reliable, but some common problems have been reported by owners. These issues are important to consider for those who are considering buying this car, especially if it is out of warranty.
One of the most pressing issues with the BMW 335xi 2012 is engine problems, particularly overheating. The cooling system can be working correctly, but the engine still overheats occasionally. This problem can be caused by a malfunctioning cooling system or by turbo failure, which is another common issue with the N54 engine in the 335xi 2012. The turbo can fail due to the arm/rod functioning incorrectly, causing rattling noises, loss of power, and smoke from the exhaust.
Electrical problems are another common issue with the BMW 335xi 2012. The most significant electrical problem is that the electrical system around the BMW 335i headlight can cause the vehicle to ignite. This issue has been reported in some infrequent instances and can result in severe fires, even totaling the car.
Another common issue with the BMW 335xi 2012 is a faulty high-pressure fuel pump (HPFP). The HPFP is responsible for injecting the engine with fuel with the correct pressure. When there's a problem with the HPFP, the engine may experience slow start, decreased performance, and a check engine light signal. Replacing the HPFP can be expensive due to labor costs, especially if the car is out of warranty.
In summary, the BMW 335xi 2012 is a reliable luxury midsize car, but it can develop problems over time. Some of the most common issues include engine overheating, cooling system problems, electrical problems, and faulty HPFP. It is essential to keep an eye on these issues, especially if the car is out of warranty, to avoid costly repairs and ensure the car's longevity.

All around a good car
It isn't a head turner nor will it win over anyone for interior styling but it is an all around good car and was very reliable. It does everything better than your standard 4 door sedan in the segment but it isn't going to wow you in any way.
