Common 2008 Bmw 328 problems
The BMW 328i, produced in 2008, is a popular choice among drivers due to its dependability and design that remains relevant over the years. However, like any vehicle, it is not without its flaws. Here are some common problems reported by owners of the 2008 BMW 328i:
- Air Conditioning System Issues: Some owners report air conditioning system problems around 75,000 miles. The source of the issue is often the A/C compressor, with replacement costing around $1,100.
- Fuel Pump Issues: This problem is reported by some owners around 50,000 miles. The fuel sending unit in the tank fails in some vehicles, requiring replacement of the entire assembly at a cost of approximately $1,200 depending on local labor rates.
- Electrical Gremlins: While not as prevalent as in older BMW models, electrical issues can still occur. These issues can include problems with the infotainment system and other electrical components.
- Suspension Problems: Some owners report issues with the suspension, particularly in all-wheel-drive models, which may handle worse than rear-wheel-drive models.
- Premium Fuel Requirement: Although not a mechanical issue, the 2008 BMW 328i requires premium gasoline, which can be more expensive than regular fuel.
These common problems, while not affecting all 2008 BMW 328i vehicles, are worth considering when purchasing a used model. Regular maintenance and timely repairs can help ensure the longevity and reliability of this vehicle.
