Only 2 lanes available and they were narrower than normal width. Part of the shoulder was converted to driving lane so almost no shoulder to pull off on. - Summary: This incident occurred on the morning of [XXX]. I was driving my new, 2024 Toyota RAV4 hybrid on the highway (it has less than 20,000 miles on it). There were no vehicles or other obstacles or road debris of any kind near me. I suddenly heard an incredibly loud, explosive sound. It was like a gunshot or as if a body had fallen on my roof. I then heard the noise of wind. My sunroof had exploded. Fortunately, I had the sunroof and the interior screen closed, so glass did not fall into my car. Once I was able to pull over, I examined the sunroof to find it had shattered and there was no indication of anything falling on or colliding with it. I took two photos and proceeded slowly to the Toyota dealer (Ourisman Toyota in Richmond, Va.) where I purchased the car brand-new/off-the-truck in February 2024. The dealer stated that they would not cover glass, including a spontaneously exploding sunroof on a new car, and so I am required to pay out of pocket. - Summary: I just purchased a 2024 Toyota RAV4 SE Hybrid in March 2024 at Summit Toyota in Akron, Ohio. On [XXX], the A/C was not blowing cold air and was making loud noise when turned on. I made an appointment for the car to get checked. Our RAV4 has approximately 3200 miles and is used by my wife sparingly around town. Summit Toyota called me on 8-19-24 and said there was damage to the compressor from “possibly” a rock. They said it would not be covered under the warranty. The total cost is around $1.250.00. We currently have a 2020 Highlander and many other Toyotas before our current ones. We decided to purchase this RAV4 because we wanted the reliability of a Toyota. After today’s assessment from Summit Toyota that this was “possibly” caused from a rock then there must be a design flaw in the grate opening size. - Summary: I am unable to use any GPS system when connected to the Multimedia function via Apple CarPlay. The location of the car on the maps is inaccurate. I could be a few feet to a few miles off. I called Toyota Brand Engagement to report this. Initially I asked if they could give me a complimentary subscription to their "Direct Connect" as suggested by the Toyota Service center at my Dealership. Ihad hopes that this might improve the location services. This was denied. I have taken it to the dealership 3 times in an effort to resolve this. I was told that they have seen this a few times and have replaced the radios in some cars previously with some success. At the last service visit Toyota was contacted by the service center and they were told to NOT replace any more radios and Case #240705001763 was initiated by the Toyota Brand Engagement center concerning MY car. No fix has been supplied yet nor have I received any communication about this. On Friday August 9, I spoke to "resolution specialist" who said she would escalate this as a safety issue. I have not received any communication since (except the post call survey). This is a safety concern as it renders all GPS wayfinding apps inaccurate( Waze, Google maps, Apple maps. This is a huge problem if you are relying on these. I paid almost $50,000 for this car and I expect the GPS to work

- Summary: I purchased the car 1/31/24 the very next day I experienced a rough idle and the car revving up its own. Toyota was unable to duplicate the problem. In May, I experienced a small leak by driver side pillar A. I was told the vehicle was fixed. In June, I had a leak in the same pillar as well but additional areas were showing a leak. I was told the first leak was from the sunroof. The 2nd leak I was told it was the windshield. The windshield was replaced in July. In August, I am now experiencing a leak again in the same places. Toyota is deeming the care safe and drivable regardless of the fact that the car is still leaking The dealership suggest I trade in the vehicle. Aside from the leak, I’ve dealt with steering/alignment issues which have been looked at twice.

Pulling lightly, or with any degree of resistance, will not allow the shoulder strap to be loosed so it can be used. As a result a passenger cannot be seated in the center of the rear bench seat. - Summary: I have driven 20 years in USA, where I had observed a debris (dirt/ rock) from road hitting the wind shield and have never had damaged by car wind shield. My new TOYOTA RAV4 xe, wind shield cracked by UN-noticeable debris hitting it. Wind Shield quality has been compromised by TOYOTA. It is so thin and week that it gave way. I lost confidence in Toyota and feel nervous as similar damage may happen in future also. How can you ensure that they recall and install better wind shield. Dealers sell Warranty for the same when we buy new cars, so that Financial impact is taken care by additional 3-4 K. $ warranty sale. But what about Passenger in front if the windshield breaks and cause face / eye injury. The wind shield of RAV4 is too thin for it large area (size). It may be OK for windows and rear, but not OK for front. Do they test the impact test on Wind shield (1/2 cm stone or ice (hail) hitting the wind shield from their vendors? Toyota is not considering this in Manufacturing Warranty. Relying on Toyota's quality, i denied Dealer's warranty, as I am a safe driver (no incidence in my 40 years of driving. I called emergency roadside assistance of Toyota at 3:15 AM after taking car in near safe place, They said they would need a few hours to reach out me and requested me if you can still drive vehicle can park at home and contact your dealer, I had no choice than driving the vehicle as I was with my wife on the rainy night and dark road, I took this risk to reach home. I informed Toyota after reaching home safely. I parked at my jobs parking lot, let my car idle for a few minutes, and I received a message on the dash "Engine Stopped. Steering Power Low." I went out 2 hours later, tried again, same message. Waited all day, even called a Tow truck. Right when tow was about to show up, I started the car again, no message, and car was fine. I told dealership, and they told me it was because the engine got water in it. But looking online it's because of a faulty battery or alternator from the factory. Two days later, it happened AGAIN as I was parking. I saw the warning momentarily as I was turning off the car. I turned it back on again, and no message. Please look into this. I fear for everyone who buys a Rav4 from the factory. It seems to be a common occurrence for brand new Rav4, not just a one or two happenstance.

I got the Adventure model just because everyone else didn't have this model. Overall, the ride is good and the fuel MPG is great. It looks great inside and out. My only complaint is the engine noise. I think Toyota could do better in this area. I drove all the top small SUV's and I enjoyed this one the best. I even got a lifetime powertrain warranty!

I recently purchased a 2023 Rav 4 LE and I'm very pleased with it so far. The ride is smooth, the steering is great, and I'm not too concerned about acceleration (I had a turbo before this and I don't miss it). It goes enough for me. I'm hoping this vehicle lasts longer than my Honda CRV did before I started having problems after only 3 years and 24k miles. I haven't heard too much about recalls on Toyota vehicles like I have about Honda. If I have any issues in the future, I'll update, but for now, I would definitely recommend the Rav 4.

The vehicle has its pros and cons. While it offers a fairly smooth ride and responsive steering, it is underpowered by at least 50 HP and struggles up hills. It gets 34 mpg and brakes just fine. Overall, it does most things well. However, it is frustrating that the mirrors are not heated, especially for those living in colder climates like the North-East. Despite this, the vehicle is more reliable than my old VW Passat TDI. It would be great if the company spent more time refining their product in the real world, rather than just on paper.

At only 171 miles and on the sixth day of ownership, my 2023 RAV4 LE began to make a whining noise when turning a corner from a full stop. The sound was similar to metal scraping and whining. By the time I reached 200 miles, the brakes started to hiss. I immediately documented the brake and steering issues via video. The dealer evaluated the problem and claimed to have fixed it by bending the backing plate on the braking system to prevent it from rubbing against the rotor. However, given that the backing plate supports the entire braking system, including the rotors, calipers, brake pads, brake lines, and attaches to the wheel hub, I believe this is more than just a quality control issue. Unfortunately, the hissing brakes returned after a long freeway drive home from the dealership. As a result, I am extremely disappointed with the RAV4 and would not recommend it.

Hello! I wanted to share my experience with my RAV4. I've noticed that the auto shut off feature can be a bit sensitive and it shuts off the car almost immediately after pressing the brakes. It can be a bit frustrating when parking or maneuvering. Although there is a button to turn off the auto shut off, it can be inconvenient to remember to do so every time I start the car. Despite this small issue, I still think it's a nice car. Have you experienced anything similar with your car? Thank you for listening!For some reason, when you press the button to turn the car on, it doesn't have a rough start (you won't feel any propelling), but when it turns back on from the auto shut off, you might feel a slight propulsion forward.

The vehicle is described as nearly top of the line, but unfortunately it seems to have some issues. It is underpowered and has a tendency to squeak. In comparison, the two Kia Souls owned by the writer outperform and handle better, with only one tiny squeak despite one of them having 50,000 miles on it. The writer apologizes, but the engine of the Rav 5 sounds like a meat grinder.
