The Toyota Auris (Japanese: トヨタ・オーリス, Hepburn: Toyota Ōrisu) is a compact car derived from the Corolla, manufactured and sold by Toyota. Introduced in 2006, the first generation three/five-door hatchback shared the platform with the E150 series Corolla, while the second generation five-door hatchback and station wagon called "Touring Sports" uses the E180 platform. The "Auris" name is based on the Latin word for "gold", "aurum".
In Europe, Toyota positioned the Auris as the replacement for the Corolla hatchback, while the saloon version continued with the Corolla nameplate. Starting with the E210 model, the Auris nameplate was discontinued and used the Corolla nameplate instead, except for Taiwan, retained the Auris nameplate for the hatchback version until July 2020.
For the first generation only, the more luxurious Auris was named Toyota Blade (Japanese: トヨタ・ブレイド, Hepburn: Toyota Bureido) in Japan. The Auris succeeded the Allex in Japan and the Corolla RunX. Toyota Australia and Toyota New Zealand resisted suggestions from Toyota Japan to adopt the new European Auris name for the Corolla.
The Japanese model went on sale at Netz dealerships on 23 October 2006, while European models went on sale in early 2007. The second generation was later available at Toyopet Store dealerships from 18 April 2016.

This is such a great car! It's so easy to drive and it's really fuel efficient. The cabin is really nice and the materials look and feel amazing for its class. The ride is a bit firm, but it's never too harsh. And let's talk about the seats - they're fantastic! The power is more than enough for normal driving, and I've never found the engine noise to be too loud. Plus, the transmission is silky smooth.

I've had the car for 3 months and so far, I absolutely love it! Despite what some of the reviews by the pros say, I think they have no idea what they are talking about. The acceleration on I-95 is great and the car is incredibly comfortable. I'm also really impressed with my gas economy, it's outstanding! I did read some reviews that said the interior looked cheap, but I have to disagree. I had a compact Chevrolet Sonic prior to this car and while it had twice as much trunk space, I still prefer my current car. The only issue I've had is with my insurance. Despite being 62 with a perfect driving record, my insurance went up $166 a year. I was really surprised by this, especially since I thought it would go down with all the advanced safety features in this vehicle. The only features that I added to the car were painted on pinstripes and tinted windows. I purchased the vehicle for $17,100 (CVT) and have now had it for 18 months with no problems.

I've owned over a hundred vehicles, and I must say that this one has a lot of value for the price. I'm really impressed with the interior quality, which is even nicer than my RAV 4 hybrid. I purchased the vehicle for $16,800, and you can't find anything else that compares at that price point. I've owned many Toyota products, and their quality is unbeatable. I'm extremely satisfied with the engine/transmission combo, and the ride is superb. The vehicle looks great, and the spring green color is especially uplifting during these drab winter days. I love that Toyota includes all the standard safety features with all their vehicles for 17. Before buying, I tried out all the competition, but they were either more expensive or didn't meet my standards for quality or size. I'm happy with the 1.8 in this vehicle, which offers great performance with great economy. I wouldn't want a bigger engine, as I had the 2.4 in my TC and XB, and the mileage could have been better. I look for good looks, reliability, economy, resale value, nice ride, competent handling, safety, and hatchback versatility, and this vehicle delivers on all fronts.

My sister's 2017 Corolla iM has 35K miles on it right now. As a Toyota family, we have owned many Corollas over the years, and also one Subaru. Right off the bat, this car is premium. It comes standard with alloy rims, stitched and bolstered seats, rubber mats, lane departure warning, a manual option (the M+/-), rear center armrest, cruise control, climate control, and many other features. All for $17K! The car doesn't feel like a Corolla - it feels much more like a Camry, given its comfort level. It has a very planted and sporty drive - albeit harsh on bumps due to its sport tires. Compared to a Corolla sedan, this car is literally another car. It's Toyota's hidden gem - they put so much effort into this little car, and you can tell the second you take a seat in it. Some cons/comparisons of the car: Visibility pales compared to other cars in the segment, especially out the rear window. It doesn't have as much legroom as a Corolla sedan, or is as wide and roomy as a Subaru Impreza, but it's the leader when it comes to technology, quality, and value. We've owned 6 Corollas over the years, and this one is the most impressive by-far. I cannot emphasize enough how good it is... Would I recommend this car as a family car? Only if you have 2 young children.I highly recommend it for anyone who wants reliable, premium transportation from point A to point B.

The gas mileage I've been getting in the first month is around 21 mpg, both in town and on the freeway, while using the 'Eco' setting. It's not the quickest car, especially on hills, but it gets the job done. I would recommend not paying anywhere near the MRP. I was able to get mine for 18,500 out the door in UT.

I received my car after dark and was surprised to find that the headlights were not as good as my previous Corolla sedan. However, the car's performance, handling, comfort, and quietness are all excellent and surpass the sedan. Overall, I enjoy driving this car more than my previous Corollas. The only issue I have experienced is ongoing intermittent problems with the safety sense features. The master warning goes off every few days with no message, and the pre-collision warning sounds even when driving on a straight road with no traffic. These problems seem to be more prevalent in cold weather, but they still persist even on an 80-degree day. I understand that it may be difficult for the dealer to diagnose the problem when it is not present at the time of observation, but I am concerned that it may take a while for the service department to get up to speed on the software, firmware, and technical issues, as this is the first year for these features on the Corolla. Meanwhile, it is unnerving to be enjoying a drive only to be interrupted by flashing lights and warning buzzers. Adjusting the pre-collision sensitivity has no effect. Other glitches have included the back-up camera going blank while going backwards. On the plus side, the fuel economy is much better than expected, averaging close to 40 mpg overall. I just hope that this won't be a reliability headache.

I purchased the Corolla iM for three main reasons: its gas mileage, Toyota's reliability, and the fact that it's a hatchback (also a second car for commuting). I won't go into too much detail since information is readily available online, including Consumer Reports if you have access to it. I've been driving the car for about three weeks now and overall, it's a decent car for commuting and running errands. As a 55-year-old who is picky and simple, all the fancy features the car has are irrelevant to me except for the backup camera. However, I am bothered by the Eco Mode flashing, as it can be too distracting and affect my attention to traffic, road conditions, or even interesting thoughts. This function is useless because my brain controls my foot, so I should know which mode I am driving in. I had been waiting for years to get a perfect Honda Fit, but I read about the not-so-user-friendly touch-screen of the Fit, which discouraged me from even giving the car a chance. There is no perfect hatchback out there for me, so I plan on keeping it as long as it goes. This morning, I thought of a solution: I will cover the Eco Mode with a piece of black electrical tape. Hopefully, this will help me enjoy my new car even more.

The sticker says 28 city- 37 hwy- 31 combined, but I've found that the actual fuel efficiency is lower. I've been getting around 23.5 mpg, which is a bit disappointing. Additionally, I've noticed that the cabin can be quite noisy. It would have been nice if the factory had invested a bit more in sound deadening. As someone who has owned 4 Toyotas, I have to say that this one has been a bit of a letdown.

I purchased this car in 2021 with 21000 miles on it. However, I have noticed that the clutch is quite high and numb, with a paper-thin bite point. Additionally, the throttle is laggy with rev hang, which can make starting off a bit tricky. Shifting from 1st to 2nd and 2nd to 3rd gears can be jerky, and it feels like I need to be back on the gas before releasing the clutch. When the car warms up, it idles at 500 RPM and shakes a bit, but a little gas solves the issue. Despite these quirks, the car gets great gas mileage and seems like it will last forever, which is a plus!

I'm only 5ft 6 inches in height but I had to contort my head and neck entering and exiting my Scion IM. Power was nothing great either. Moned and strained on hills. Dashboard controls were boring. However, I kept the car only a year and a half then traded it for a 2017 Rave4 XLE, which I absolutely love.
