2023 Toyota Camry problems
The Toyota Camry (/ˈkæmri/; Japanese: トヨタ・カムリ Toyota Kamuri) is an automobile sold internationally by the Japanese auto manufacturer Toyota since 1982, spanning multiple generations. Originally compact in size (narrow-body), the Camry has grown since the 1990s to fit the mid-size classification (wide-body)—although the two widths co-existed in that decade. Since the release of the wide-bodied versions, Camry has been extolled by Toyota as the firm's second "world car" after the Corolla. As of 2022, the Camry is positioned above the Corolla and below the Avalon or Crown in several markets.
In Japan, Camry was once exclusive to Toyota Corolla Store retail dealerships. Narrow-body cars also spawned a rebadged sibling in Japan, the Toyota Vista (トヨタ・ビスタ)—also introduced in 1982 and sold at Toyota Vista Store locations. Diesel fuel versions have previously retailed at Toyota Diesel Store. The Vista Ardeo was a wagon version of the Vista V50.
Etymology
The name "Camry" derives from the Japanese word kanmuri (ja:冠, かんむり), meaning "crown". This follows Toyota's naming tradition of using the crown name for primary models starting with the Toyota Crown (1955), continuing with the Toyota Corona (1957) and Corolla (1966); the Latin words for "crown" and "small crown", respectively. Maintaining this theme was the Toyota Tiara (1960) named after the "tiara" form of crown. The Atara trim level name used on the Camry in Australia since 2011 means "crown" in Hebrew. The rebadged Camry variant for Japan, the Toyota Scepter (1991)—took its name from "scepter", a royal accessory to a crown.

Common 2023 Toyota Camry problems
The most common problem reported by owners of the Toyota Camry 2023 is hesitation from the automatic transmission while accelerating. This issue is typically resolved by revising the software in the in-vehicle computer system, which makes a bigger difference for newer models. However, for older models, the hesitation is more likely due to a worn part.
The second most frequent problem is an illuminated check engine light caused by a malfunctioning oxygen sensor. This issue affects the in-vehicle computer's ability to regulate the required air-to-fuel ratio for the engine, requiring the replacement of the faulty oxygen sensor to rectify it.
Another transmission issue is the automatic transmission not properly shifting for high-mileage vehicles (125,000 miles and above). This issue usually doesn't require a major overhaul for the transmission and can be resolved by either replacing the shift solenoid or re-adjusting the throttle position sensor.
The fourth most common problem is a leak from the power steering pump or hose, especially affecting models with a V-6 engine. This leak requires the replacement of either or both of these components for resolution.
In addition to these issues, some owners have reported a strong smell of burning rubber under the hood, particularly between the motor and battery on the driver side.
Consumer Reports also lists problems related to exhaust components, such as muffler, pipes, catalytic converter, exhaust manifold, heat shields, and leaks.
These issues, while concerning, do not detract significantly from the Toyota Camry's overall reliability rating of four out of five, placing it 3rd out of the 24 midsize car models evaluated by RepairPal.

UNKNOWN OR OTHER,LANE DEPARTURE,FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE PROBLEM
- Date Of Incident: 2024-03-26
- Crash: 1
- VIN: 4T1K61AK4PU
- Components: UNKNOWN OR OTHER,LANE DEPARTURE,FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE
- Summary: The smart stop system, the vehicle stability control system, the electrical power steering system, the blind spot monitoring system, the secondary collision brake system, and the lane keeping assistance all malfunctioned while traveling home one night. My made a really loud continuous beeping sound as I was driving the vehicle sensed it was departing its lane and the lane keeping assistance over steered left. This caused my vehicle to scrape the curb, causing cosmetic damage, mess up the wheel alignment , and crack front drivers side rim, because I physically tried to turn away to prevent any impact with the curb. I also had this vehicle stop in the middle of the road MULTIPLE TIMES DETECTING an object or obstruction was in the road when nothing was there! This almost caused rear end collisions multiple times when it happened. I actually turned this feature down to the lowest possible setting to prevent it from happening. If you are asking is it available for inspection by me it is not. This vehicle had an extremely high monthly car note. Once I took it to the dealership for inspection, they were not willing to honor my new car warranty. Even though I brought this car with 10 miles on the odometer. The dealership was negligent, & as was Toyota corporation. when I called to have it inspected and got their upper management involved. They sent out a 3rd party inspector to look at my car at Jerry’s Toyota inc, located in Baltimore Maryland where it was purchased. Upon inspection nothing was said or noted at all about any of the malfunctioned systems to my vehicle, they used it having exterior damage from impacting the curb to say, the problem was my fault & to get insurance to fix it because it’s not their problem. Yes my safety and other safety were put at risk because of this vehicle. Yes it was inspected by a 3rd party inspector Toyota hired to look at the vehicle. It has since been repossessed because I could not drive it safely. No their were no warning lamps prior

- Date Of Incident: 2024-04-11
- Crash: 1
- VIN: 4T1C31AK3PU
- Components: VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL,FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM
- Summary: On April [XXX] at about [XXX] a.m., upon returning from exercising at the Peter Blum YMCA in Boca Raton, I was very slowly parking my car in the garage. The car was half way in when it suddenly accelerated forwards, impacting two bicycles standing on their racks at the end of the garage, the washing machine, the dryer, the water heater and through them, the garage back wall, where cracks were created. I applied the brakes as hard as I could but the car just kept going. It finally stopped, after hitting the bicycles and the appliances. Astonished by what was happening, I put the car in park and then very carefully, I went backwards to review the damage. All of a sudden, the car accelerated backwards until it hit some bushes across the street from my house. It is a street with foot traffic by neighbors holding their small kids and dogs. Cars are usually parked on the side walk. Miraculously, nobody was injured and no car was parked. I authorized inspection by Toyota. My insurance company GEICO only inspected body damages to the car. There were no warnings. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

The car eventually started to move. This is the 3rd time I have went to push the gas pedal and the car did not immediately respond. There are no check engine or other warning lights on the dashboard. This is a huge safety issue as one time I went to pull out and the car acceleration did not respond almost causing an accident. I have not yet taken the car to the dealership but plan to soon. The last time I took the car to the dealer they said they would charge me, even if the vehicle is in warranty period, if they did not find anything therefore discouraging such items from being reported/further investigated. The first event was quite some time ago but the last 2 have happended in the last 30 days with the 3rd being 4.13.24.

TIRES PROBLEM
- Date Of Incident: 2023-12-16
- VIN: 4T1K61BKXPU
- Components: TIRES
- Summary: I bought this set of tires new from Sams Club on 10/28/2023. On 12/16/2023 a TPMS warning light came on so I added air. Then three days the light came on and I added air again, and so on, and so on until 12/28/2023 I took it back to Sams Club and they replaced the tire with another tire of the same brand and type, and said it was a manufacturing defect. About a month later on 1/31/2024 the TPMS light came back on, so I added air and took it back to Sams Club to have it checked. They said it had a "hole" and they fixed it and put it back on. Then on 2/27/2024 the TPMS light came on and I added air and soaped all the tires and the same tire was leaking around the rim, and another tire on the rear driver side was bubbling around the rim. I compared the pictures to verify that the leaks were on different locations on the wheel, but the same location on the tire. In total, I've had three of these tires leak around the rim; two from the set I purchased on 10/28/2023, and one that they put on 12/28/2023 to replace the first tire that leaked. I spoke with a manager at Sams Club this morning and they're replacing the set with a different brand that matches what came with the car from the factory. I have pictures of all three leaks, and the last two tire codes.

Toyota customer service said there is no warrantee and this is normal operating conditions. I am very familiar with cars and this is unsafe. UNKNOWN OR OTHER PROBLEM
- Date Of Incident: 2022-12-15
- VIN: 4T1C11BK1PU
- Components: UNKNOWN OR OTHER
- Summary: I am filing a complaint regarding the quality of cars manufactured by Toyota, which I believe poses a risk to drivers' lives. I recently bought a new 2023 Toyota Camry LE AWD from a dealer in Kansas Throughout my life, I have driven numerous cars, but I have never felt as unsafe and fearful as each time I drive this car and feel I don't know whether I will be able to return home safely or not. This situation has led me to believe that Toyota prioritizes profit over people's safety. Here are all the issues I have encountered: ISSUE 1: Vehicle Stability 1. The primary issue I am encountering is the car's tendency to skid when driving above 60 mph, despite keeping the VSC turned on at all times. It becomes challenging to maintain a straight path as the vehicle tends to slip. 2. Through my research on Google, I discovered that Toyota has issued numerous recalls for 2022 models due to VSC/ESC software glitches.I am uncertain whether the problems with my car are a result of a VSC/ESC software glitch or if there is a fault with the any other mechanical system. ISSUE 2: Very High WIND Noise 1. When driving above 40 mph, I experience excessive wind noise inside the car, which creates the sensation of a severe windstorm. This noise is quite loud while driving and causing a feeling of fear and it will damage my ear if I drive with high wind noise for long time. ISSUE 3 : Fraudulent Dealer 1. After facing above mentioned two issues, I took the car to the same dealer but instead of conducting a thorough diagnosis, a technician simply drove the car locally for a few minutes and hastily concluded that "everything is fine." ISSUE 4 : TOYTA IS NOT RESPONDING I have sent 3 emails to the CEO of Toyota-US and Toyota Japan. However, I have not received any replies from either of them. This lack of response from top-level executives suggests that either Toyota is aware of the problems but wants to hide them, or they are unwilling to take responsibility for the safety of their cars.

SERVICE BRAKES PROBLEM
- Date Of Incident: 2023-01-19
- Crash: 1
- VIN: 4T1C31AK3PU
- Components: SERVICE BRAKES
- Summary: ABS/Brake system malfunctioned causing accident on Freeway. Was traveling in number 1 lane on Freeway in an area where it usually slows down, I had 3-4 car lengths gap between me and the person in front of me. Traffic started slowing down to about 25-35 mph I maintained a 2-3 car length gap, Traffic let off there brakes and I coasted traveling at roughly 25-35 mph for a couple seconds, then the I noticed the vehicles in front of me slamming on there brakes so I did too except my braking system failed, I'm suspecting the abs system malfunctioned. 25mph with a 3 car gap in a brand new car with less than 5,000 miles with brand new tires should have had no problem stopping in time. My old volvo could have stopped in time on an ice rink. Camry brakes are pretty grabby during normal driving which makes it hard to brake smoothly so it has to be some type of computer glitch which caused the problem.

The best car I've ever owned!
-
It sounds like you got exactly what you were looking for, down to every little color and detail!
-
Best automobile I have owned in 15 years! I wish I had done it sooner. It handles well, has great acceleration on take off, and excellent mileage. I love the color. The only downside for me is a distortion in the back window at night with headlight glare from traffic behind you. The view is very poor. I think it comes from defrost lines in the window.
-
I like everything about it. I wish I had GPRS👍
