It was towed into the shop, and we found that the timing chain had broken. We had just had our engine mounts replaced and the oil changed. The vehicle has been well maintained. I have seen the issue with the timing chain failure is a common problem in Saturns/GM from internet research. It looks like there was a service bulletin to bring the car in if Service light comes on and you “think” it’s due to premature wear of timing chain. Now we are told the engine needs to be replaced because it was damaged by the timing chain failure and it seems like a known defect that should be covered because it exceeded the value of the car to have such a fix.

I hooked up the diagnostic code scanner on the car and it threw several different codes PO700, PO752, PO420. There are specific transmission issues with this particular year, make, and model. My car has the exact same symptoms as the others that were recalled so why has mine not been recalled as well? It's malfunctioning just as the others described in the recall so clearly this is a common issue with these particular vehicles. I feel my car should be covered as part of the safety recall on the transmission and I need it repaired as soon as possible.

In the affected vehicles, the flexible steel cable that connects the seatbelt to the front outboard seating positions may fatigue and separate over time.
- Consequence: If the steel cable becomes fatigued and separates, the seatbelt may not properly restrain the seat occupant increasing the risk of an injury in a crash.
- Remedy: General Motors will notify owners, and dealers will inspect and, if necessary, repair and replace the lap pretensioner, free of charge. Parts are not currently available. An interim notice will be mailed to owners in July 2014. A second notice will be mailed to owners once parts become available. The recall for the 2009-2010 model years began on July 11, 2014. The interim letter for the 2011-2014 model years were distributed on July 11, 2014. I hope you're doing well! I wanted to share my experience with the Outlook that I purchased in November 2007. At the time, I had never heard of the car before, but when I saw it, I thought it looked really nice. Since we bought the 2007 model, we were able to get it fully loaded and got a great deal. I never thought I would ever buy a fully loaded car, but I'm so happy that I did. The heated seats, mirrors, heated window washer fluid, and GPS have all been wonderful additions. I'm still not sure if I need OnStar, but I'm pleasantly surprised with XM radio and even renewed it for a year. The only downside is that the gas mileage is not great, at best 17mpg city. Additionally, it can be a little difficult to park due to its size. Overall, I'm really happy with my purchase and would definitely recommend the Outlook to others!

After months of researching, I finally purchased my fully loaded Outlook XR and was excited to experience its great look and luxurious interior, complete with heated leather seats, sunroof, captain chairs, Nav, etc. However, I have noticed that the performance is not up to my expectations. Despite my foot being on the floorboard of the accelerator, the car struggles to climb even basic hills. Additionally, the gas mileage is disappointing, averaging only 12 mpg. As a conservative driver, I expected better performance and efficiency from the Outlook. I am confident that these issues can be resolved and I look forward to finding a solution.

I've had this SUV for a little over 3 weeks and so far it's been exceptional. No concerns here. If you're looking into getting a reasonably priced full-size SUV, then the Outlook is the way to go.

We found exactly what we were looking for with the Outlook - a lot of vehicle at a reasonable price. While the mileage isn't quite what we hoped for (around 19), the interior space more than makes up for it. We were able to comfortably fit five adults and two child seats in the car with plenty of room to spare. While it handles well in the rain, new SUV drivers should be aware that high winds can be a bit of a challenge.

It's really frustrating when you feel like your concerns aren't being heard. I had some issues with my Outlook, including a faulty wave plate that caused transmission problems, and it ended up costing me quite a bit in repairs. I wish there had been a recall for this issue. On top of that, I had to replace several other parts as well. It's definitely been a learning experience for me, and I'll be more careful in the future when choosing a vehicle.

I purchased an Outlook in Jul 07 and unfortunately experienced a transmission problem with the vehicle. Despite having the transmission updated, the issue persisted and in Jan 08, I heard a loud noise coming from the back of the car. Upon inspection, it was discovered that the wheel bearings had gone bad. While driving home after having the wheel bearings replaced, I noticed that the steering wheel had become tight and required the pump to be replaced. Although I have had to bring the car in for service multiple times, I am confident that the import dealer will be able to address any remaining issues.

I have experienced some issues with my vehicle that have been difficult to diagnose and resolve. Despite multiple attempts to address a rubbing sound coming from the front left wheel well, the issue persisted. After further investigation, it was determined that the traction control system and ABS were causing the problem, which only occurred when turning left and going downhill. Additionally, the A/C system has not been performing well, with inconsistent temperature control and the controls themselves showing signs of wear. There is also a persistent squeaking in the steering wheel that would require a costly repair. While there have been some challenges, I am confident that these issues can be resolved with the right expertise and attention.

Although we initially enjoyed this car, we have unfortunately experienced a number of issues. Despite having had the doors repaired twice due to sunroof drain tube leaks, we are still experiencing water damage to the seats. Additionally, we have had to replace the strut mounts and deal with popping noises underneath the car, which have yet to be resolved. We are disappointed that the car struggles to make it up our gravel driveway, despite being a front-wheel drive. However, we remain confident that these issues can be resolved and are committed to finding a solution. While we have faced challenges, we believe in the quality of this car and are determined to make it work for us.
