The Nissan NV (Nissan Van) is a full-size van produced by Nissan from 2011 to 2021. It was developed and marketed for the United States and Canada, where Nissan had not previously been present in the full-size segment. Until the introduction of the Nissan NV, Mexico was the only country in North America selling a full-size Nissan van, as the Nissan Urvan was sold there.
The NV nameplate was previously used by a small pickup truck sold in Thailand.
Development
The NV used the same F-Alpha platform as does the Nissan Titan full-size pickup, but due to the need for a flat loading floor it is highly modified and they end up sharing mainly powertrain pieces and some of the design language. The NV was also only available with rear-wheel drive, coupled to a five-speed automatic transmission (later also a seven-speed). The NV was not targeted directly at the (mainly fleet) buyers of the Ford E-Series and Chevrolet Express, but rather at private buyers including contractors and small business owners who are looking for a vehicle that is both capable and comfortable.
The 4.0-litre V6 engine outputs 261 hp (195 kW) and 281 lb⋅ft (381 N⋅m) of torque, while the 5.6-litre V8 engine outputs 375 hp (280 kW) and 387 lb⋅ft (525 N⋅m) of torque. The V8-engined versions are also electronically limited to a top speed of 100 mph (161 km/h).

WE ASKED THE DEALER ABOUT INSTALLING THE DVD PLAYERS AND IF IT VOIDED THE NISSAN WARRANTY. AFTER BEING TOLD THE WARRANTY IS STILL VERY MUCH VALID IF THEY INSTALL THE AFTERMARKET ITEM WE AGREED. WE HAD DUAL DVD PLAYERS AND A REMOTE START INSTALLED. IN JUNEAU THE TEMPERATURE ROSE WE NOTICED IT TOOK A WHILE TO GET COOL. MY KIDS STARTED COMPLAINING ABOUT THE TEMPERATURE IN ROWS 3 AND 4. WE NOTICED LITTLE TO NO AIR FLOW IN THE REAR. I SEARCHED THE INTERNET TO MAKE SURE I HAD THE DIALS CORRECT. READ THE MANUAL AND IT WAS STILL HOT. MY 4YR OLD WAS DRIPPING WITH SWEAT AND HER FACE WAS RED FROM BEING I. THE FOURTH ROW. I PLACED A THERMOMETER IN THE REAR AND THE TEMPERATURE WAS 105. FRONT TEMPERATURE WAS 63. NO MATTER WHAT WE DO THE REAR AIR CONDITIONING DOES NOT SEND ENOUGH AIR TO COOL THE VAN. I PLACED THE VAN IN THE SHOP TO HAVE IT REPAIRED. I WAS TOLD THE COMPANY THAT INSTALLED THE DVD PLAYER HAD FIXED IT AND IT WAS 100% BETTER. AFTER BEING IN THE CAR I NOTICED THE SAME AMOUNT OF HEAT IN THE BACK. I CALLED TO INFORM THE DEALERS SERVICE DEPARTMENT AGAIN AND WAS TOLD TO BRING IT IN. AGAIN THE DVD COMPANY WAS TO BE CALLED TO CHE K. I WAS TOLD TO COME PICK UP THE VAN. SERVICE DEPARTMENT TOLD ME THAT THE VAN HAS A BAD AIRFLOW DESIGN AND NITHING CAN BE DONE. I ASKED IF HE GOT IN THE VAN AND HE EXPLAINED HE DID AND IT'S REALLY HOT. ALSO WAS TOLD THEY CHECKED ANOTHER VAN ON THE LOT AND IT'S THE SAME. MY QUESTION WAS HOW WOULD ANYONE BE OK WITH DRIVING THEIR CHILDREN AROUND IN A VAN THAT HAS TEMPERATURES 15 TO 20 DEGREES HOTTER THAN OUT SIDE. HE TOLD ME TO TALK TO NISSAN BECAUSE THEY CAN'T DO ANYTHING BECAUSE IT WORKS AS DESIGNED. WE HAVE SPECIAL NEEDS CHILDREN AND THE HEAT HAS CAUSED ONE TO SUFFER 2 ASTHMA ATTACKS.
