I recently downsized from my larger SUV to the Mini Countryman. Although my previous SUV was not the largest out there, it was still difficult for me to park in tight spaces. I was looking for something smaller and the occasional Mini I saw in my community really caught my eye. My husband was initially concerned about space, but was pleasantly surprised that it wasn't as small as he thought it would be. The carbon black Mini Yours interior is gorgeous, sporty, and very comfortable. It runs quietly on the electric motor during my short trips and is fun to drive with great get-up-and-go on the highway. I love the sound of the combustion engine when it kicks in. The rear camera and visibility are great, and I love the app that lets me know the car's status, location, and how much gas I have left. I absolutely love this car! The only downsides I have found are that I wish it got a few more miles on the plug-in and that it was expensive to upgrade my electric panel to accommodate the more rapid charge I wanted, but I am glad I did. It now charges in less than 2 hours. The brakes were a bit grabby in the beginning, but I got used to it and now brake more smoothly. I still haven't taken the time to figure out how to make the infotainment center default to where I last had it, but overall, this is a great car. I have had many cars and this one is my favorite so far.

Hit the Start lever and get ready to enjoy the rumble as you drive off in a very fast, super comfortable, and totally fun hatch with more room than meets the eye. This car rivals even the most luxurious models, including my 20-year-old 911 that I still own. The top of the line model costs less than $50K, which is a steal compared to the small BMW's, Mercedes, and Audis that offer similar features for much more. You'll be pleasantly surprised by the passenger room in both the front and back, making it perfect for a couple or small family. It zips around town and inspires confidence on the highway. Bonus: the friendly dealer treated me with respect and courtesy, and didn't try to add any mystery fees or extras.

The car has a great combination of electric and gas power, which engages automatically whenever you stop and restart the car. There are many things that I like about this vehicle, and a few that could be improved. As a BMW owner since 1989, I was hesitant to switch, but I wanted a vehicle that could handle off-road adventures. Although BMW X models don't typically look like off-road vehicles, I test drove the brand and was impressed. I found the SE model to be the best overall, but the S is a good trade-off. I love the enter/exit height of the vehicle, which makes it easy to get in and out of. The interior is excellent, and the seats are quite comfortable in cloth. The rear lift gate opens easily with a light kick and backing up. Gas mileage depends on how you drive, but I have managed to get into a rhythm. The trick to getting excellent gas mileage is to use the green mode. However, performance is definitely hampered, but it's great to save during solo drives or heavy traffic. Although the car has features to prevent collisions, I was surprised that it didn't include blind spot warnings. Overall, I'm happy with my purchase and look forward to more adventures in my new car! When driving in green mode on back roads or in heavy traffic, I like to select 'save the battery' as it recharges the battery quite well. I really enjoy the cornering lights as they light up the way when turning. I also love the car play and the HK sound system.

In May 2019, my wife got a new job that required a lot of driving, and we knew her Jeep was not up to the task. So, we bought this car, and it has been a great investment. As of today, it has 82,000 miles, and the only time it has been to the dealer was for regular scheduled maintenance and two instances where the Check Engine Light came on. Both times were software issues, and the dealer sorted them out in two weeks. There was nothing wrong with the vehicle. The software was misreading the data and triggered the light. This car is fast, way faster than you need it to be. It has been a great road car for us as we zip out for weekend getaways. There is plenty of room for a two-week trip, and when driven conservatively, my wife easily gets 38 to 42mpg. The cost is reasonable, and it is about $30 a week now that gas prices have risen. There are trade-offs, such as the battery storage not leaving room for a spare tire. However, our extended maintenance plan has a $50 deductible for tire replacement, which helps. An eight-gallon gas tank means you must pay attention to your gas stops on a road trip. I would highly encourage installing a fast charger in your garage. The regular charger will take 8-9 hours. As more chargers are installed in our area, we will benefit. Right now, we run all our Saturday morning errands in electric mode. Overall, it is a fantastic vehicle that offers premium quality in return. I will not talk about the technology because that is so subjective. What others cannot do without, I will not miss. We can do hands-free calls, text, and navigation, so I am content.

As a long-time Honda/Acura enthusiast, I recently test drove the Countryman S as a potential replacement for my Acura TSX. From the moment I got behind the wheel, I fell in love with the ride, handling, space, and overall look of the car. However, I did find the sport seats to be a bit uncomfortable due to their pronounced side support and hard feel. Despite this one issue, I still highly recommend the car and suggest that potential buyers consider ordering the normal seats. Overall, the Countryman S is a fantastic car that I would definitely recommend.

Our salesman, Ryan George in Palm Harbor, Florida, originally mentioned that the mileage would be about 65 miles per gallon, which was also advertised. This was appealing to us as I do a lot of driving in my business. However, the mileage is much less than expected or advertised, with only 38.7 mpg in less than 1,000 miles. Even when fully charged, the battery gets less than 15 miles before switching over to the engine. We are disappointed with the performance and are currently checking on Facebook to see if other people are having similar results. If we find 100 or more people, we may consider bringing a class action suit against Mini Cooper/BMW for false advertising. I am a little embarrassed too, as I told a lot of clients and friends that I was going to do this because of the mileage as well as the overall appearance and performance of the Countryman. With such a disappointing performance, I really can't justify the investment.

This car is a blast to drive and has some really neat features like the interior lights, moon roof, and keyless entry. However, the technology could use some improvement for the price point. Unfortunately, the car did not sync up with the key to keep the driver's settings and Google Maps is not available on the system. Additionally, the Mini Connected app did not function as intended. Despite these setbacks, I am looking forward to returning the car.

I recently purchased a Mini hybrid without doing any research beforehand. However, my previous experience with the Mini brand and the dealership made me confident in my decision. Unfortunately, I was mistaken about the car's fuel economy and was disappointed to find out that it did not meet my expectations. Although I wish I had done more research before making the purchase, I am still grateful for my positive experience with the dealership. While the car may not be the right fit for me, I understand that it may work well for others with different driving needs. Overall, I encourage anyone considering a Mini hybrid to do their research and make an informed decision based on their individual needs. If you're someone who enjoys zipping from 0-60 in just a few minutes, prioritizes appearance over practicality, or has a grocery store within walking distance, then this car might just be the perfect fit for you! It's cute and gives the illusion of fuel economy. Today, I drove my kid to school in 'Eco Green' mode, covering a round trip of about 3 miles with an average speed of 21 mph and an impressive MPG of 34.4. If you happen to see me on the road, give me a little honk! My car is the one with prominent 'Buyer Beware' signs all over it. I admit, I didn't do my homework before buying this car, so please don't insult me or make unrealistic recommendations. The salesman was a good guy, the dealership is nice, and the car is cute, but I was hoping for a vehicle with better gas mileage and a nicer driving experience. During my test drive, I didn't notice a few things that have become a bit of a nuisance. For example, the toggles are cute but become non-functional if a drink is placed in the cupholder, and the power windows squeal when being lowered. Additionally, the automatic lift gate only works occasionally and only after my shin is covered in grease from attempting to open it. It doesn't work for closing the liftgate at all. The dash is made of a strange material that attracts and holds dust, and the cargo capacity is small when the back seats are up. The owner's manual is not very helpful, and I'm still trying to figure out how to use the online manual. For optimizing mileage, multiple steps are required to program for efficiency, which can be a bit of a hassle while driving. Overall, this car has its pros and cons, but it might be a good fit for someone who prioritizes appearance and doesn't mind a few quirks. A single button or toggle would be more user-friendly than the confusing controls on the round knob. It seems that Mini recognized this issue, as they included redundant buttons to bypass the knob and quickly access functions such as turning on the radio. It would have been simpler if they had designed the knob to turn on the radio with the on/off button. Although I have 40 years of driving experience, I still struggled with the car's functionality and Mini offered to send someone to teach me how to drive it. Unfortunately, I have not heard back about this offer. If you plan to purchase this car, be prepared to spend some time at the dealer learning how to use it effectively. If you are looking for a car that offers a pleasant driving experience and good fuel economy at an affordable price, you may want to consider other options.

I would like to share our experience with our 2019 Countryman lease with option to buy. Although we have driven it for about 2 years and 8 months and have covered 62,000 miles, we have had some issues with it. Recently, the sunroof cable that closes and opens the sunroof broke and since it had 60k miles when we took it, it was out of warranty. We were disappointed to learn that it would cost $850.00 to repair it. Additionally, we were informed that it needed new motor mounts, which would cost $1,500.00. We have also had to replace all four tires, all brakes, and two roots. Recently, we have had to jump start it a few times and have been unable to find a battery for it. We contacted the dealer, but the closest appointment available is 7 days from now. Although we have had some issues with our car, we hope that our experience can help someone avoid making the same mistakes we did.
