2019 Mercedes-benz S450 problems
The Mercedes-Benz S-Class, formerly known as Sonderklasse (German for "special class", abbreviated as "S-Klasse"), is a series of full-sized luxury sedans, limousines and armored sedans produced by the German automaker Mercedes-Benz. The S-Class is the designation for top-of-the-line Mercedes-Benz models and was officially introduced in 1972 with the W116, and has remained in use ever since. The S-Class is one of the flagship vehicles for Mercedes-Benz.
The S-Class has debuted many of the company's latest innovations, including drivetrain technologies, interior features, and safety systems (such as the first seatbelt pretensioners). The S-Class has ranked as the world's best-selling luxury sedan. In automotive terms, Sonderklasse refers to "a specially outfitted car." Although used colloquially for decades, following its official application in 1972, six generations of officially named S-Klasse sedans have been produced.
In 1981, the two-door, four-seat S-Class, designated as SEC, was introduced, sharing the petrol V8 engines with its four-door version, W126. After the introduction of a new nomenclature scheme, SEC was simply renamed as S-Class Coupé. For the 1996 model year, the coupé was separated from the S-Class line and named as new CL-Class (in line with other two-door models: CLK, SL, and SLK); however, the CL-Class was reintegrated into the S-Class model line (same with CLK becoming E-Class Coupé and Cabriolet). The first-ever S-Class convertible since 1972, internally named A217, was introduced and became a one-generation model only. After the end of W222 production in 2020, the successors to the C217 coupé and A217 convertible are not planned, citing the low demand for those models and stronger demand for SUV models.

Common 2019 Mercedes-benz S450 problems
The Mercedes-Benz S450 2019 has been reported to have several common problems, primarily related to technology and software issues. One of the most frequently mentioned problems is the malfunctioning navigation system, which has trouble finding certain mature house numbers and zip codes. This issue can be frustrating for drivers, especially in unfamiliar areas, and can potentially lead to safety concerns if the driver is unable to reach their intended destination.
Another common problem reported by owners is the failure of the folding mirrors to fold when the doors are locked. This issue can be a significant inconvenience, especially in tight parking spaces, and can potentially lead to damage to the mirrors if they are not folded in properly.
The Easy Entry/Exit system in the S450 2019 has also been reported to have issues, with the steering wheel no longer moving up or down as intended. This issue can affect the driver's comfort and safety, as they may not be able to adjust the steering wheel to their preferred position.
In addition to these specific issues, some owners have reported general operational and technology issues with the S450 2019, including problems with shifting, issues with the shifter operating the NAV screen, and problems with using contacts for directions. These issues can affect the overall driving experience and can potentially lead to safety concerns if they are not addressed promptly.
While some owners have reported these issues, others have noted that their S450 2019 has been reliable, with only the usual W222 issues such as oil changes, brakes, and tires in the first 35,000 miles. However, it is important for potential buyers to be aware of these common problems and to consider them when making their purchasing decision.
In terms of reliability, Consumer Reports predicts that the 2024 S-Class, which includes the S450 2019, will be less reliable than other new cars based on the Mercedes-Benz brand scores. This prediction is based on a questionnaire sent to subscribers, which asks them to identify problems with their cars that occurred in the past 12 months. The questionnaire focuses on problems that are considered serious due to cost, failure, safety, or downtime.
In conclusion, while some owners have reported common problems with the Mercedes-Benz S450 2019, others have found the car to be reliable. Potential buyers should be aware of these issues and consider them when making their purchasing decision. Additionally, buyers should be aware of the predicted reliability of the S-Class based on the Mercedes-Benz brand scores.
