2002 Chevrolet S10 problems
The Chevrolet S-10 is a compact pickup truck produced by Chevrolet. It was the first domestically-built compact pickup of the big three American automakers. When it was first introduced as a "quarter-ton pickup" in 1981 for the 1982 model year, the GMC version was known as the S-15 and later renamed the GMC Sonoma. A high-performance version of the latter was released in 1991, called "Syclone." The pickup was also sold by Isuzu as the Hombre from 1996 through 2000, but only in North America. There was also an SUV version, the Chevrolet S-10 Blazer/GMC S-15 Jimmy. An electric version was leased as a fleet vehicle in 1997 and 1998. These models are sometimes internally referred to as the S/T series to denote two and four wheel drive models respectively (similar to the full size Chevrolet C/K trucks) despite all versions being badged with 'S' nomenclature.
In North America, the S-series was replaced by the Chevrolet Colorado, GMC Canyon, and Isuzu i-Series in 2004.
The S-Series ended production in Brazil in 2012, being replaced by the Chevrolet Colorado, but still with the name S-10.

This size and style of truck seems to fit my lifestyle and my kids' needs. While it may not be the roomiest, it is a compact truck, not a full-size one.

Factory stripes and low crouching suspension give this truck a very intimidating look. You really have to see these beauties in person to get the effect. There's plenty of room in the extended cab for audio, and investing in a good Tonneau cover and a radar/laser jammer is a great idea. This truck is so powerful that it can reach 100 MPH too quickly and 80 MPH too easily. As a third-time truck owner and first-time Chevy owner, I'm very happy with my purchase and would definitely buy again!

I'm experiencing an issue where the vehicle engine occasionally revs up when trying to shift from low to drive. The dealer is aware of the problem and is working with me to correct it. It can be frustrating when you expect a new vehicle to perform problem-free.

The styling might be tiered but the dependability is wide awake. The body panels fit perfectly while the 4.3L 6 cylinder provides plenty of pep for the automatic trans. The payload and towing limits are sufficient for routine household requirements while the fuel efficiency is much better than expected.

This truck is everything you could hope for! While I've only owned it for a month, the mail trucks in my town all have S-10 engines and transmissions and are known for their reliability. It tows at least 4,000lbs with no problem and I couldn't find any defects. The power is great without sacrificing too much gas mileage. The interior and exterior are stylish, if not a little conservative, and the comfort is top-notch. While there may be a little too much wind noise on the highway, it's still a great buy for the money!

This S-10 has been very reliable with good handling capabilities and great 'go anywhere' capability. It also has a suspension that is very good for its class and boasts very good fuel economy (23-27hwy & 17-19city) with plenty of power for its class. However, there are some cons to this vehicle such as cheap finishes, trim, paint, and fitting of interior parts. Additionally, the vehicle has a very poor turning radius.

Currently, I have 16000 miles and I'm still happy.

The truck seems to have some fit and finish issues, particularly with the seals and moldings around the doors and windows. Unfortunately, I'm currently experiencing a major problem with the Passkey security system. Despite running fine for a month, the security system is now shutting off the gas to the engine, and it sometimes takes me over an hour to get the truck started. However, the dealership has been very helpful and provided me with a nice loaner car while they work on fixing the issue. Overall, I had really enjoyed the truck before this problem arose, but now I'm reconsidering my purchase.

I purchased this vehicle when it was 13 years old and had only 40,000 miles, thinking it was in great condition. Unfortunately, I had to replace the catalytic converter, O2 sensor, MAF sensor, and AC/heater control panel right away. While I love the size of the pickup, the interior is cheap and the exterior is inferior (I've owned two S10s and both have rusted significantly since I bought them), and the gas mileage is terrible. Overall, I'm not sure if I would buy another one due to the many negatives.

The car has some areas that could be improved, such as the motor lacking in power and fuel efficiency, and some plastic components that may not be as durable. Additionally, there are some issues with the windows and shocks. However, with proper maintenance and care, these issues can be addressed. It is important to note that the car's ABS system may need to be disabled for reliable braking, and the seatbelt retractors are quite sensitive.
