The Chevrolet Van or Chevy Van (also known as the Chevrolet/GMC G-series vans and GMC Vandura) is a range of vans that was manufactured by General Motors from the 1964 to 1996 model years. Introduced as the successor for the rear-engine Corvair Corvan/Greenbrier, the model line also replaced the panel van configuration of the Chevrolet Suburban. The vehicle was sold both in passenger van and cargo van configurations as well as a cutaway van chassis that served as the basis for a variety of custom applications.

Produced across three generations (1964–66, 1967–70, and 1970–96), the model line was sold under a wide variety of model names under both the Chevrolet and GMC brands. The first two generations were forward control vehicles (with the engine placed between the seats); the third generation adopted a configuration placing the engine forward of the driver. The second and third generations shared powertrain commonality with the C/K pickup truck model line.

After the 1996 model year, GM retired the G-Series vans, replacing them with the GMT600-platform Chevrolet Express and GMC Savana.

One thing I wished this car would have is bluetooth so that I can play music from my phone. I have to use an AUX cord for this. But besides that, I've learned Infiniti's are great cars and can go over 200K miles if you maintain it well.

Summary: RING/PINION HAD NOISE AT TIME OF PURCHASE, THOUGHT IT WAS AXLE BEARING, BUT DEALER SAID IT WAS RING/PINION. WORKED ON REAR/END, STILL HAD NOISE, AT SPEEDS 45-50 MPH, EXCEPT WHEN YOU DEACCERLATE, NOISE WOULD QUIT. THOUGHT IT WAS REPAIRED , CARRIED BACK TO DEALER THEY CHANGED RING/PINION AGAIN, DRVE VAN IT HAD VERY LITTLE NOISE IN IT. DEALER WANTED ME TO DRIVE AND SEE IF IT WOULD STOP THE NOISE. AFTER ABOUT 500 MILES NOISE STARTED AGAIN GETTING LOUDER EVERY 50 OR SO MILES. CARRIED VAN BACK TO DEALER, TOLD THEM THAT THE NOISE WAS BACK IN MY VAN, AT WHICH TIME I WAS TOLD THAT THEY WOULD NOT BE ABLE TO DO ANY FURTHER REPAIR TO THE VAN. I QUESTIONED THE SHOP FOREMAN, SHE SAID THAT THE SLAP IN THR RING/PINION GEARS WERE IN SPEC. AT WHICH TIME I SAID IT WAS THE RING/PINION GEAR AT FAULT, THE WHINE AND ROAR WOULD QUIT WHEN YOU LET UP ON THE GAS. IT IS SO BAD THAT ANY PERSON RIDING IN THE BACK COMPLAINS AND MOVES TOWARD THE FRONT BECAUSE OF THE NOISE. BY THE WAY THE VAN IS A CONVERTED VAN THAT THE ONLY PROBLEM IS THE NOISE IN THE REAR END. WHEN THE SHOP FOREMAN TOLD ME THAT THEY WOULDN'T DO ANY OTHER REPAIR ON MY VAN, I ASKED WHAT WAS I SUPPOSE TO DO. THEY TOLD ME THAT I COULD CARRY IT TO ANOTHER DEALED FOR A SECOND OPINION, I TOLD HER THAT EVERY GM DEALER HAD ALL THE IMFORMATION ON MY VAN ON THE COMPUTER AND THAT I WOULD GET THE SAME REPLY FROM THEM. THEY SEEMED TO AGREE. SO THE NEXT THING I DID WAS TO CALL GM TO ASK THEM WHAT I SHOULD DO AT THIS TIME. I EXPLAINED THE SITUATION AND HE PUT ME ON HOLD AND HE TALKED TO THE SHOP FOREMAN FOR ABOUT 5-10 MIN.
