Bmw 135i problems
The first generation of the BMW 1 Series consists of the BMW E81 (3-door hatchback), BMW E82 (coupe), BMW E87 (5-door hatchback) and BMW E88 (convertible) compact cars. The E81/E82/E87/E88 generation was produced from 2004 until 2013 and is sometimes collectively referred to as the E8x. The E8x replaced the 3 Series Compact as the entry level models of the BMW range.
The chassis has an aluminum multi-link suspension, and a rear-wheel drive layout with a longitudinally-mounted engine giving 50:50 weight balance, which was a rare configuration for a hatchback as most cars in this market segment use front-wheel drive. The engines available were four-cylinder turbo-diesel, four-cylinder naturally aspirated petrol, six-cylinder naturally aspirated petrol and six-cylinder turbocharged petrol (the latter only available on coupe and convertible models).
The highest performance trim is the 1 Series M Coupé which was powered by the BMW N54 turbocharged inline-six engine mated to a six-speed manual transmission. It was produced in only the coupe body style and is considered the predecessor to the BMW M2.
Following the introduction of the F20/F21 1 Series in 2011, the E81/E87 hatchback models began to be phased out, while the E82/E88 coupes and convertibles remained in production until 2013, when they were replaced by the F22/F23 2 Series models.

Common Bmw 135i problems
The BMW 135i, equipped with the N54 or N55 engine, is a powerful and agile compact sports car that has gained a reputation for its high-performance capabilities. However, like any other vehicle, it is not without its common problems. Here are some of the most frequently reported issues by BMW 135i owners:
- Valve Cover Gasket Leaks: The valve cover gasket is another component that can leak in the BMW 135i. This gasket seals the valve cover to the cylinder head, and when it fails, it can cause oil to leak onto the engine. While it's not a major issue, it can be messy and should be addressed promptly to avoid further damage to the engine.
- Rear Subframe Cracks: The rear subframe is a critical component of the BMW 135i's chassis. In some cases, the subframe can develop cracks, leading to instability and potential failure. Reinforcing the subframe with additional bracing can prevent this issue and improve the car's handling.
While these issues may seem daunting, they are not uncommon in high-performance vehicles like the BMW 135i. With proper maintenance and upkeep, these problems can be addressed promptly, and the car can provide years of reliable performance.
Is the BMW 135i reliable?
Frequency. BMW 135i owners have to bring their vehicles into a repair shop for unscheduled repairs an average of 1.2 times per year, compared to an average of 0.7 times for luxury compact cars and 0.4 times for all vehicle models.
Are BMW M135i reliable?
Reliability and problems
BMW tends to be a midfield finisher in customer satisfaction and reliability surveys. The 1 Series has so far performed better than most BMWs, so it's a car you can buy quite confidently. Just like a Mercedes-AMG A-Class, the M135i comes with a three-year, unlimited mileage warranty.
Is a 135i a good daily?
It's very usable from day to day and makes manoeuvres such as overtakes incredibly safe and simple. By holding down the left shift paddle you can automatically downshift to the appropriate gear for a burst of maximum performance.
What is the common problem with the BMW 1 Series?
While the BMW 1 Series is generally praised for its performance and comfort, some concerns regarding its reliability have surfaced. Issues commonly cited include electrical problems, such as malfunctioning sensors and erratic dashboard warning lights.

On Dec 24th I purchased a 2012 BMW 135i convertible from Alboet Motor Sports on Pass Rd in Gulfport, MS. Before I went I specifically asked if the car had any mechanical or cosmetic damage and [XXX] lied and said nothing was wrong. After signing all documents she started pretending to look for the title. She promised i would get it in a week or so in the mail. The car had a ruined engine and radiator, missing front air intake ducts completely, who knows what else. They only paid 2700 bc it states stationary with mechanical damage from auction. I paid the $10,700 in cash they charged me. I'm sick to death just thinking about it. She will not repair, refund or anything like that. She finally today sent a pic of a title to the car and its got a man in Mobile, AL name on it. I don't think she ever even tried to get it and doubt she is now either. I have wasted more time and money on this, I feel robbed of over 10k. I have no car to start my new job the 24th.
