Is the Alfa Romeo 4C engine reliable?
Alfa Romeo 4C common problems
Engine: It's proving to be reliable, even past 70,000 hard-driven miles. With the quiet, standard exhaust fitted, you can at least hear all is well with the turbo, pulley tensioner and valves, but the optional racing exhaust is more thrilling.
Was the Alfa Romeo 4C successful?
This is one of those cars that shows why sports cars have to be more than fast and powerful to be successful. It's easily one of the biggest luxury automotive disappointments in recent years, as it made very few buyers happy. This is why the Alfa Romeo 4C flopped spectacularly.
Why is the Alfa Romeo 4C so expensive?
Next thing is, the car is basically made out of carbon fiber. This is the same stuff that F1 cars are made out of. And that doesn't come cheap. Plus it has a rather advanced turbocharged engine powering it, which adds to the cost, and the 4C had a rather limited production run when you compare it to say a VW Golf.
Can you daily drive an Alfa Romeo 4C?
This is me this is my friend matt. And these are our knees. But if you can fit the road is where the 4c shines it's quick it darts around it's eager to accelerate. And turn and steer.

I have been a fan of ALFA for a long time, since 1969. I have owned street cars and even raced in SCCA in the 1970s. My 2015 4C LE has been an amazing car since I bought it new. To take it to the next level, all you need are better tires and a good alignment. You can find lots of tips for tweaking performance and maintenance on the online 4C Forum, where I am a super moderator. These cars have proven to be very reliable and, while not as cheap to maintain as Ford or Chevy, they are still much more affordable than P, B, or M cars. Plus, you won't see another one pull up next to you at stop lights!

The Alfa Romeo 4C may not be suitable for everyone as it is not a practical daily driver. However, for those who value a true driving experience on back roads or the track, this car is truly special. The carbon fiber chassis provides a lightweight car, while the turbocharged 4 cyl engine delivers amazing mid-range torque and delightful sounds. The brakes are incredible and the unassisted, quick steering makes for an exhilarating drive. When you drive hard into a corner, the Alpha 4C encourages you to go faster. There was a long list of options for this car, but in my opinion, the only must-have is the optional track package, which adds a rear roll bar and a larger front bar, resulting in nil body roll. Some owners have complained of a rough ride, tramlining, and bump steer, but this can be easily remedied by replacing the very rigid Pirelli PZero OEM tires with a high-performance Michelin or Continental tire. The larger 18/19 inch wheels exacerbate the Pirelli PZero problems, so the standard 17/18 wheel size is more appropriate for this car and provides more tire choices. I also currently own a Corvette C8, but it feels like a bloated SUV compared to the 4C. Driving the 4C reminds me of a 1985 Porsche 911 I once owned. The 4C is not a luxury sports car, but a pure driver's car. Alfa Romeo has produced the type of sports car that no one thought we would see again. It is a very special car, and I highly recommend not missing out on the opportunity to get one.

This is truly a 21st-century driver's car! If you're concerned about trunk space, don't worry - it actually has more trunk space than the $500K New Ford GT. It's a real sports car that's so precise, you'll never be the same once you've driven it. I've driven C7s, P 718 Boxsters, and other mid-engine cars, and for the price and technology, this car can't be beaten! Since I started driving it months ago, every time I get behind the wheel (top on or off), I turn to my sweetie and say, 'I love this car!' It's basically a mini supercar, and with some mods out there, it can become a true beast - which I intend to pursue now that I'm past my first 5K mile service! Hobie, as of 7/2019, still feels the same way!
