The Mazda Millenia is an automobile which was manufactured by Mazda in Japan from 1993 to 2002.
The Millenia was originally planned as the second of three models for Mazda's proposed luxury brand Amati. As the company's dwindling finances caused by the onslaught of the "bubble economy" prevented the launch of the Amati brand, the Millenia was released in the autumn of 1993 in Europe as the Mazda Xedos 9 and in Japan and Australia as the Eunos 800. The car was launched in North America in 1995 as the Mazda Millenia and in July 1997 the Japanese market Eunos 800 was also renamed to Mazda Millenia as Mazda discontinued the Eunos brand. There was no model link to the other Mazda marque, Ẽfini.
Having been developed for a separate market from typical Mazda customers, the Millenia boasted myriad finer details. It was engineered to far greater levels of perceived quality than existing Mazda cars, such as interior plastic quality, panel gap and thicker paint coating. The Millenia/Eunos 800/Xedos 9 was assembled along with the smaller Eunos 500/Mazda Xedos 6 in a new production line, presumably set up for Amati cars.
The Millenia does not have a direct predecessor or replacement in the Mazda product line, and production ceased with the introduction of the Mazda6 in 2002, itself a replacement for the 626. It appears to have received a brand-new platform, although the multi-link suspension at both ends strongly resembled that of the 1991 Mazda Sentia, with minor changes such as replacing the lower I-arm with an A-arm for front wheel drive. It was the only production car in the world to employ a Miller cycle engine (The current Demio/Mazda2 features Miller Cycle on one of its engines). Yaw-sensitive four-wheel steering was available as an option in Japan; Mazda claimed that with this feature, the Millenia was capable of passing the elk test at speeds comparable to the BMW 850i and Nissan 300ZX.
The 1997 Japanese market name change from Eunos 800 to Mazda Millenia was accompanied by a significant facelift that included some cost-saving measures. For instance, the hood was downgraded from aluminum to steel. The Millenia was again facelifted for the 2001 model year.

IT PUSHED THE FIRST VEHICLE I HIT INTO THE CAR PARKED IN FRONT OF IT AND PUSHED IT INTO ANOTHER VEHICLE BEFORE I COULD GET IT STOPPED. THE ENGINE RETURNED TO NORMAL RPM. I PUT THE CAR IN PARK AND TURNED OFF THE ENGINE. POLICE WERE CALLED AND A REPORT FILED. AN ASE CERTIFIED MECHANIC CHECKED THE CAR IMMEDIATELY AFTER THE CRASH AND FOUND THE THROTTLE LINKAGE WAS FREE, WAS NOT ABLE TO REPRODUCE THE HIGH RPM, AND COULD NOT READ ANY ERROR CODES ON THE COMPUTER. I bought my Mazda for my wife because she loved its looks. The deeply discounted price for an entry-level luxury car was also a factor. Although I have always been a GM man (10 GM's, 8 new from Chevy to Caddy), I have since purchased 4 new Toyotas and have seen a big improvement in quality and reliability compared to GM. I have also owned 1 Ford and 2 Chrysler products (used). While the assembly of the Toyotas was excellent, this car is perfect - nothing out of alignment or loose. The engine is not a great performer by any means, but it is adequate for most. This car is comfortable for 4 people and cruises effortlessly at 80 mph. The only problem I have had after 37,000 miles is that the trunk release button will not open the trunk.

You got this car with 70,000 miles on it and it has been a reliable and fun ride ever since. At 80,000 miles, you replaced the fuel injector lines for $300 and it has been problem-free since then. Recently, at 170,000 miles, you had to replace the starter, radiator, and battery. However, compared to any 1995 American car, it has been a great investment.

I bought my 2000 Millenia in 2002 with only 15,000 miles. I absolutely love this car! It's so much fun to drive and handles like a sports car, while still having the luxury feel. I've been driving it daily and it has never left me stranded. I've kept up with the maintenance and only use premium gas as per the owner's manual. I plan on keeping this car for as long as possible!

I've had this car for four years and I absolutely love it! I bought it because I wanted something different from the usual Honda Accord or Toyota Camry, and it has not disappointed me. It's incredibly comfortable, sporty, and has plenty of room both in the front and rear. Overall, I think it's a very well-engineered car.

Despite having purchased an additional warranty for 5 years, costing 2,000.00, the auto adjustable steering column jammed and was not covered. The engine light has been on more than off and required multiple repairs. Additionally, several engine components had to be replaced. The catalytic converter also required replacement, which was costly. These issues occurred before the car had even reached 60,000 miles. The projected reliability of the car is questionable.

You got a great deal on this car! It looks like a Lexus and has a similar interior craftsmanship, making it an excellent value. The seats are very comfortable and it's nicely equipped. The brakes are good and it handles nicely, making it a joy to drive on windy roads. However, there have been some issues. The transmission needed replacement at 65k miles and even after replacement, the 1-2 shift is somewhat harsh, which seems to be a common issue with this car. The Check Engine light is perennially on due to the EGR Valve, and there are slight oil and coolant leaks. It's possible that the previous owner didn't take great care of it, but overall it's a comfortable and nice car that's worth considering.

I came across a car for sale - a 1995 model with only 84,000 miles on the clock. I was amazed to find that everything in the car still worked perfectly after 25 years! The car was in great condition with no scratches or dents, and the interior was in good shape too. It even had the original cassette stereo, which was a nice touch. I couldn't help but think that this car must have been stored away and barely driven. I ended up buying it for $2000 and have now owned it for 2 years. Since then, I've had to replace the catalytic converter, a fuel injector, and do a complete tune-up. I also replaced the old cassette stereo with a new one. The only issues I've had are a short in the windshield wipers and the fact that, being 25 years old, it has OBD1 instead of OBD2, so some things don't show up on the computer like they do in newer cars.

When I purchased this car, it was from a teenager who didn't take very good care of it. I had to put in about $1800 worth of work after buying it for $2100 with 98,000 miles on it. However, after that, the car never let me down. I never had any doubts about its reliability. The only thing that concerned me was that the exhaust would get so hot that it was burning a hole in my trunk. But I never worried about it breaking down on me. I used to take my young niece (3 years old) with me, and she always enjoyed the ride. The car is not very spacious for tall people, but if you're 5'10 or under, it's more than enough. It has a nice trunk space, compartments, and always provides a great ride. It served me well for a few years, and in fact, it saved my life. I was rear-ended in September, and since the car is longer, most of the impact was absorbed by the back. Although my airbags didn't deploy, I only suffered a concussion. The other driver was probably going over 50 mph. My advice to you is to treat this car kindly, and it will do the same for you.

Hi there! I hope you're doing well. I wanted to share my recent experience with cars. I've been a proud owner of a Lexus for the past 5 years, but I decided to switch things up to lower my car payments. I've been driving the Millinea for a couple of weeks now and I have some thoughts to share. First off, the styling of the car is really nice both inside and out. I especially like the dashboard, it's laid out really well. The ride is also super quiet and smooth, which is great. However, I did notice that the engine seems to hesitate a bit when you first step on the gas, which can be a bit annoying. Additionally, the latch covers in the back for the child safety seats keep popping open, which is a bit frustrating.
