WITH SO MANY COMPLAINTS THERE SHOULD BE AN INVESTIGATION AT LEAST AT THIS POINT AS TO WHY THE COILS FAIL SO QUICKLY IN THIS TYPE OF CAR. AFTER 4 TRIPS TO HANNAH KIA IN OUR AREA, THEY HANDED ME A KIA TECHNICAL SERVICE BULLETING DATED FEB.2008 INSTRUCTING DEALERS TO TRAIN THE PASSENGER IN HOW TO SIT ON THE SEAT IN ORDER TO ACTIVATE THE SENSOR. WHICH LEADS ME TO BELIEVE THEY HAVE KNOWN ALL ALONG A PROBLEM EXISTS. I WEIGH 154# BUT MY WEIGHT DOES NOT ACTIVATE THE SENSOR. USING A SMALL 12"X12" PILLOW I CAN GET IT TO WORK SOMETIMES.. I'm really pleased with the gas mileage I'm getting. Despite being rated for 29 mpg, I'm actually getting 34+ mpg. The gearing is just right, providing power and efficiency in all the right places. With the manual transmission, you won't even feel like you have a small engine. According to reviews on the internet, the automatic transmission can feel sluggish. The car has a lot of nice touches, such as the armrest, aux input, stub holder, and center console orientation. All of these small things add up to make for a comfortable ride. While some of my friends have reported that the back seats feel a bit cramped, I can't think of any downsides. I bought it used, and when it comes time to buy a new car, I think I'll go with a Rio (or Hyundai's version, the Accent).

Despite some issues with the rear defroster, I always enjoyed driving my Rio. It was sporty and got great gas mileage. During the accident, my Rio protected me and I walked away without a scratch. I'm so thankful for my car and wanted to share this positive experience with you.

If you're looking for an affordable and fuel-efficient ride, the Kia Rio is the perfect choice! I purchased the 4-door base model to use as my 'run around' car and I am getting an impressive 39 MPG, even with a mix of stop-and-go and highway driving. It's the best no-frills car out there and offers the best value for your money. I never thought I'd consider a Kia/Hyundai, but with gas prices being what they are and my need for basic transportation, this car hits the bullseye!

I've bought my 2009 Kia new. It's been a very dependable car. I've driven it from the east coast to the west coast without any problems. Although the seats are not the most comfortable for long distance travel and it's not as smooth a drive as a larger sedan, I still love my Kia because of its low maintenance and dependability.

This is our second Rio 'shopping trolley'. It offers the best value and size in its class by far. Although the fuel consumption is disappointingly high and the transmission had to be replaced the morning after we got it, it's fine now and these things happen. The tyres can be a bit noisy, but overall it's a good 'mum and pop' runaround. With its low service costs and 5-year warranty, it's definitely a winner!

Hi there! I'm glad to hear that you purchased this car pre-owned with only 4000 miles on it and haven't had any problems with it so far. I understand that you've noticed the rear brakes tend to be touchy and squeak a bit when you drive it after it's been sitting overnight. Additionally, the engine tends to have a little rattle to it when it's cold, but once it warms up it's flawless. It may have something to do with the CVT. Thanks for sharing your experience with me!
