THERE IS OBVIOUSLY AND ELECTRICAL ISSUE IF NOT SOMETHING ELSE IS OBVIOUSLY WRONG. WITH SO MANY COMPLAINTS THERE SHOULD BE AN INVESTIGATION AT LEAST AT THIS POINT AS TO WHY THE COILS FAIL SO QUICKLY IN THIS TYPE OF CAR. DEALER SAID THAT THERE WERE NO RECALLS OR REPORTS FROM KIA ON THIS COMPLAINTS FOR 2009 KIA RIO AND DECIDED TO NOT REPLACE THE PARTS UNDER WARRANTY. LOOKED FURTHER TO SEE THE WORDS PASSENGER AIR BAG OFF. WHICH I ASSUME MEANS IN AN ACCIDENT I WOULD NOT HAVE PROTECTION. AFTER 4 TRIPS TO HANNAH KIA IN OUR AREA, THEY HANDED ME A KIA TECHNICAL SERVICE BULLETING DATED FEB.2008 INSTRUCTING DEALERS TO TRAIN THE PASSENGER IN HOW TO SIT ON THE SEAT IN ORDER TO ACTIVATE THE SENSOR. WHICH LEADS ME TO BELIEVE THEY HAVE KNOWN ALL ALONG A PROBLEM EXISTS. I WEIGH 154# BUT MY WEIGHT DOES NOT ACTIVATE THE SENSOR. USING A SMALL 12"X12" PILLOW I CAN GET IT TO WORK SOMETIMES.. I hope you're doing well! I just wanted to share my experience with my car. I purchased it back in 2011 when it was only two years old and had around 20k miles on it. It's a pretty basic model, but it does have automatic transmission, air conditioning, and a great stereo system. Although I've stored it outdoors for extended periods of time, it has only accumulated 40k miles and has never given me any issues. I would definitely feel comfortable taking it on a cross-country road trip! If you're in need of a reliable car with good gas mileage and enough space for a small family, or if you live in a city and need something easy to park and maneuver, I highly recommend this car. Plus, the powertrain is still under warranty, so you can have peace of mind knowing you're covered. Although the 5/60 bumper warranty has expired, the 10/100 powertrain warranty is still valid. This car performs well in terms of fuel efficiency, but I had an issue with the air conditioner that required the motor to be taken out. Despite being told that it was my fault for keeping papers in the glove box, which is not prohibited, the car was not under warranty. However, I am confident that the issue was due to a design flaw in the glove box that allowed the air conditioner to suck in my oil change receipt. I believe that I should not have to pay for this repair, and I have expressed my concerns to the dealership. I am currently waiting for a resolution to this issue.

It gets perfect gas mileage as long as you don't get on the interstate. At 80 mph, it runs at 4000 rpm in 5th gear, but at 50 mph, it runs at 3000 rpm in 5th gear. It could use 6 gears or a different ratio for top end. The car accelerates fast through 1st and 2nd, and it's very quiet.

This car is a fantastic economy car. It drives really well and has great gas consumption. The warranty is also fantastic. I had an issue with the bearings in the front wheels, but the Kia dealership replaced them without hesitation and at no cost to me. It's a very reliable car that will get you from point A to point B comfortably, cheaply, and without any problems.

I bought this car about a month ago and overall I'm happy with it. However, I have noticed a strange squeaky noise coming from the rear brakes. Despite taking it to different places, no one has been able to identify the issue. While the car is not luxurious and has a simple interior, it is perfect for my daily commute. The fuel economy is decent and the car is quiet on both streets and highways. The only downside is that the tires are a bit small. Overall, I think the car offers good value for the money. I really like my car and I'm hopeful that we can find a solution to the brake issue soon.

The ride is uncomfortable and the cabin is very loud due to excessive road and engine noise. While the mileage is not great, the car is very cheap to purchase.
