4x4 drive system
The Bronco Sport comes equipped with an all-wheel drive system with "G.O.A.T. Modes" (Goes Over Any Terrain). The G.O.A.T. modes allow the driver to select different terrains for the 4x4 system. The Bronco Sport has four-wheel independent suspension. Only the Badlands model has a twin-clutch rear differential that can act as a rear differential locker based on the GK drive system used in the Focus RS, and has torque vectoring. Unlike the Bronco, the Bronco Sport does not have a low-range transfer case. Instead of having traditional front bump stops, the Badlands model Bronco Sport has hydraulic bump stops. The Base, Big Bend, and Outer Banks models share the same AWD system as the Escape, with proprietary programming for off-road use. The Bronco Sport has the tow capability of 2,000–2,200 lb (907–998 kg) depending on the engine.

But I was able to drive 15 miles without that key. Fortunately the automatic start/stop was engaged, if it hadn't been I could've been stranded at an intersection or worse, had an accident stalled at an intersection. Once the car was turned off it would not restart, it said "no key detected". I was left stranded in someone's driveway until my son drove to my home to retrieve the key. This should never happen, the car should never have been able to start with the key inside my house.

- Summary: Leff than 6 months after purchasing this vehicle new I have had a problem when I'm turning right or left with a rubbing/grinding noise in the rear. I have complained about it to the dealership where I was getting my oil changed and they brushed it off saying they don't hear it or it could just be the wind lol. I ended up taking it to another dealership in 2023 (Oxmoor Ford) where they heard it and diagnosed it as my rear differential and after they had my car for 3+ weeks I was told there wasn't a fix and they would just change out the fluid and replace it with new fluid and would let me know when there was a fix. In October 2024 I call and ask about this fix because I never heard anything else from them and they have me bring it in just to reset the modules. Still no fix on rear differential with so many complaints about it from several Bronco owners.

- Summary: My car was stopped at a red light and when I hit the gas to go my entire car shut off. I was not able to turn my hazards on or put my car in neutral to push my car out of traffic. This is a huge safety concern because a car could’ve rear ended me since I wasn’t able to put hazards on. I attempted to jumpstart the vehicle but that didn’t work. I had to get my car towed and sent to the dealership. The issue sounds like the recall notice 24S24 - however my bronco sport says I don’t have any recalls. After talking to other bronco sport owners who had similar issues, they said they had to pay several hundred dollars to replace the battery with an AGM battery because the bronco sport isn't equipped to handle all the electronics.

This requires barge cost (to Maui and back), being present to pick up car from barge and drop off at dealership, time on Maui to allow dealership to remedy the recall, wait at least a week for the barge to return it back to Molokai, and then time to pick up vehicle at the barge once back on Molokai. I have tried to organize with my dealership that is on Maui, and they will not pay for anything but the actual "recall work". My vehicle is a little over a year with only 7800 miles on it. The expense of all of the above and the time needed without a vehicle is not something I can afford (Barge alone is approximately $1500). After several communications with Ford, they told me I had to deal with my nearest dealership, and if still having difficulty getting repairs done at no cost to contact NHTSA.gov. This car is just as fast as most other cars, and even with its boxy shape, it achieved an impressive 34.4 MPG on a trip to see the grandkids. The Outbanks edition is loaded with safety features, comfortable leather inserts in the seating, and great handling and ride thanks to the standard Michelin tires. I highly recommend it!

I've had my Big Bend edition and I absolutely love it! Ford really nailed the perfect mix of fun, utility, and a super feel-good vibe. Even though mine has the smaller engine, it still has plenty of power and pickup. Everywhere I go, people stop and admire it. It has an excellent driving height, so you can see the road great. Admittedly, if I'm ever on the sand, it's because I got lost, but having so many GOAT modes is a nice touch.

It sounds like you made an excellent choice with your purchase! Your wife's daily driver seems to be the perfect fit for her needs. The compact size and larger feel are great features, and the interior room is surprisingly spacious. The premium package adds some fantastic features, including a high-end stereo. The seat material is comfortable, and the ride on the highway is smooth. The gas mileage is also impressive, as you barely used any gas on your 80-mile drive home from Orlando. The adaptive cruise and lane keep features worked flawlessly in traffic, making for a stress-free drive. Even with the all-terrain tires, the road noise was barely noticeable. The vehicle also has plenty of storage options, including a great cargo management system with two levels for your belongings. It's great that you can quickly access what you need by opening just the glass instead of the entire hatch door.

I've been driving a 2022 Bronco Sport Big Bend for a few months now and I must say, it's been a great experience. Due to the car shortage, I ended up with the Bronco when it became available, and I'm glad I did. Our other car is a 2020 Outback, but the Bronco has been a lifesaver this winter with all the snow we've had. Despite my long commute of 70 miles round trip, the Bronco has been returning better gas mileage than expected, averaging between 28 and 29mpg. While the interior may not have the high-end feel of the Outback, it has good ergonomics and is very comfortable. I haven't noticed the wind noise that others have mentioned, and the car feels very solid and quiet. The steering and handling are great, and the car feels bigger than it actually is. Although the fit and finish may not be as good as the Outback or the Honda I traded in for it, the Bronco Sport makes up for it by really feeling solid when it drives. Overall, I'm very happy with my purchase and I hope it holds up as well as my past Hondas. The last Ford I bought was back in the 80s, but I have a feeling this one will be just as reliable.

Despite being under warranty, the dealership has been unresponsive. This has left me feeling very unhappy with Ford and I'm hesitant to purchase another one in the future.

Although the appearance of the Ford Bronco is impressive, my personal experience with it was unfortunately short-lived. After only 27 days of ownership, my vehicle was rear-ended and deemed a total loss. Despite being at a complete stop, my car and two others were hit by a third car, causing significant damage to my Bronco. It is disappointing to note that the impact bar crumpled so easily, indicating a lack of durability in the vehicle. When I reached out to Ford with my concerns, I did not receive a satisfactory response. As a result, I am left with a negative impression of the Ford Bronco's reliability and safety features.

I really enjoyed my Bronco Big Bend, but unfortunately, I started experiencing a loud grinding noise when I backed up and turned out of my driveway at around 2400 miles. I took it to Ford, but they were unable to identify the issue at first. However, I insisted that they take another look and left it with them overnight. While I'm not too happy with the situation, I'm hopeful that they will be able to resolve the issue soon. Interestingly, my Escape doesn't make the same noise when I back up and turn out of my driveway. Has anyone else experienced this problem?

We encountered problems with air bags not deploying, the steering wheel coming off and falling into our laps (without an air bag), which caused my husband to suffer a broken and fractured arm. Additionally, the headrests had popped off, resulting in bulging disks, and my husband had a laceration from the visor popping off and slicing his head open. Despite all of this, we are grateful to be alive and able to share our story. I am concerned about the safety of other Bronco Sport drivers, as there have been no recalls for these issues.

I hope you're doing well! I wanted to share my experience with the Bronco. I purchased it in a pinch when I was stranded away from home and couldn't get a rental car. Although it was cute, I found it uncomfortable to drive and it didn't perform as well as I had hoped. However, my 11-year-old daughter loved it and thought it was the best car ever! I think it would be a great fit for a young college or teenage girl. The sound system was really impressive, and I loved the display screen when I opened the door. Ultimately, I ended up trading it in for a 2023 Palisade, which was a better fit for me. Thank you for letting me share my experience with you!
