Ford Bronco sport problems

The Ford Bronco Sport is a compact crossover SUV sold by Ford Motor Company and marketed under the Ford Bronco nameplate. It was released alongside the sixth generation Bronco body-on-frame SUV, featuring a similar retro and off-road styling in a smaller footprint. The vehicle is based on the front-wheel drive-based, unibody C2 platform, which is also used by the Ford Escape crossover and Maverick pickup.
Powertrain
Engine
The Bronco Sport has two engine options. The base engine is a turbocharged 1.5-liter Ecoboost I3 engine producing 181 hp (184 PS; 135 kW) at 6,000 rpm, and 190 lb⋅ft (260 N⋅m; 26 kg⋅m) of torque at 3,000 rpm. It is also available with a turbocharged 2.0-liter Ecoboost I4 engine producing 245 hp (248 PS; 183 kW) at 6,000 rpm, and 275 lb⋅ft (373 N⋅m; 38.0 kg⋅m) of torque at 3,000 rpm. Both engines are mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission.
4x4 drive system
The Bronco Sport comes equipped with an all-wheel drive system with "G.O.A.T. Modes" (Goes Over Any Terrain). The G.O.A.T. modes allow the driver to select different terrains for the 4x4 system. The Bronco Sport has four-wheel independent suspension. Only the Badlands model has a twin-clutch rear differential that can act as a rear differential locker based on the GK drive system used in the Focus RS, and has torque vectoring. Unlike the Bronco, the Bronco Sport does not have a low-range transfer case. Instead of having traditional front bump stops, the Badlands model Bronco Sport has hydraulic bump stops. The Base, Big Bend, and Outer Banks models share the same AWD system as the Escape, with proprietary programming for off-road use. The Bronco Sport has the tow capability of 2,000–2,200 lb (907–998 kg) depending on the engine.

- Summary: Leff than 6 months after purchasing this vehicle new I have had a problem when I'm turning right or left with a rubbing/grinding noise in the rear. I have complained about it to the dealership where I was getting my oil changed and they brushed it off saying they don't hear it or it could just be the wind lol. I ended up taking it to another dealership in 2023 (Oxmoor Ford) where they heard it and diagnosed it as my rear differential and after they had my car for 3+ weeks I was told there wasn't a fix and they would just change out the fluid and replace it with new fluid and would let me know when there was a fix. In October 2024 I call and ask about this fix because I never heard anything else from them and they have me bring it in just to reset the modules. Still no fix on rear differential with so many complaints about it from several Bronco owners.

- Summary: My car was stopped at a red light and when I hit the gas to go my entire car shut off. I was not able to turn my hazards on or put my car in neutral to push my car out of traffic. This is a huge safety concern because a car could’ve rear ended me since I wasn’t able to put hazards on. I attempted to jumpstart the vehicle but that didn’t work. I had to get my car towed and sent to the dealership. The issue sounds like the recall notice 24S24 - however my bronco sport says I don’t have any recalls. After talking to other bronco sport owners who had similar issues, they said they had to pay several hundred dollars to replace the battery with an AGM battery because the bronco sport isn't equipped to handle all the electronics.

Within the past month it’s completely blacked out my radio display while I was driving and wouldn’t come back on until it was turned off and turned back on. Now when I start it it’s acting like the battery is going out. I wouldn’t expect a battery to go out under 3 years. Please please can you help me with these issues.

- Summary: I have been trying to get my car serviced due to a "recall" that can only be done off island. This requires barge cost (to Maui and back), being present to pick up car from barge and drop off at dealership, time on Maui to allow dealership to remedy the recall, wait at least a week for the barge to return it back to Molokai, and then time to pick up vehicle at the barge once back on Molokai. I have tried to organize with my dealership that is on Maui, and they will not pay for anything but the actual "recall work". My vehicle is a little over a year with only 7800 miles on it. The expense of all of the above and the time needed without a vehicle is not something I can afford (Barge alone is approximately $1500). After several communications with Ford, they told me I had to deal with my nearest dealership, and if still having difficulty getting repairs done at no cost to contact NHTSA.gov. Thank you for any information and help you can provide me.

Hi there! I hope you're doing well. I wanted to share my experience with the Big Bend model that I bought in June. Unfortunately, I had a bit of trouble with the information display going blank shortly after I got it. I took it in for service, but they couldn't replicate the issue. I even provided pictures of the problem from different dates. However, the problem persisted. I was feeling a bit frustrated, but I took it back to Ford and they were able to diagnose the issue. They replaced the instrument panel, and I'm happy to report that I haven't had any issues with it for the last month or so. Overall, I'm still a fan of Ford and their cars. Thanks for listening!

I am the proud owner of a 2022 Bronco Sport Big Bend and have had it for over 6 months now. I must say that this is one of the most versatile vehicles ever made! You might catch some flak every now and then because it is the younger sibling to the bigger Bronco, but the Bronco Sport is the real life little engine that could! People might doubt its capability when trail riding, but it can pull off the same things as a 4Runner or Wrangler and leave them in awe. This rig is no slouch and the suspension is very impressive over harsh terrain, especially when traveling at higher speeds. If you are coming in from a Lexus or Land Rover, the car might not compare interior wise, but the car's interior does serve a purpose. It is really easy to clean after a day out of trailing and or camping. I personally loaded up gear full of mud and carried a few passengers with muddied clothing and it had only taken me about an hour to clean out the interior at the end of my trip. Its tame, yet adventurous looks make it perfect for driving clients around during the week and taking your girlfriend or wife (Or both?) out for a trip on a weekend. Better yet, after said weekend you are most likely starting your work week with at least half a tank which will probably last you all throughout the week as well. For those that are thinking that it seems too good to be true for the so-called

I absolutely love my Bronco Sport Outer Banks! As a dog mom, it's the perfect little SUV for me. What made the experience even better was the exceptional service I received from George Coleman Ford in Travelers Rest, SC. Despite my initial apprehension about buying a brand new car from a dealership, Chase and Gerald made the process stress-free with their friendly and low-pressure approach. Every day, I discover new 'bells and whistles' that I didn't even know I needed, like the auto sensing on/off of high beams. With the temperatures dropping quickly, the remote start and climate settings (heated seats and steering wheel) are a godsend during my morning doggie day care drop-off. The Bronco handles my 1/4 mile gravel driveway with ease, and it takes on mountain roads and switchbacks like a champ. The only thing I'm still trying to figure out is how to save some of my preferred defaults, but that's likely just user error. Overall, I'm thoroughly enjoying my Bronco and would highly recommend it!

We absolutely love our Ford Bronco Sport! It's perfect for our lifestyle and the harsh weather where we live. The price was great too! We don't understand the negative reviews about the quality of the interior, as we find it to be very durable and much better than leather. We highly recommend the Ford Bronco Sport. Here's an update: We purchased our Bronco Sport in June '22 and have driven it across the country. It has been awesome in all types of weather and traffic conditions. We couldn't be happier with our Bronco Sport!

I bought my Bronco Sport Outer Bank in September 2021 and I absolutely love it! I traded in my 2019 Ranger XLT for it, and I must say, the Bronco Sport is a better sized vehicle for me and it's so much more fun to drive. I've received many compliments on the looks of my Bronco Sport, which is white with a black top. Initially, I was a little concerned that a 3-cylinder engine at 181 HP wouldn't have much power, but I was definitely wrong. It has plenty of power! The seats are comfortable and the ride is very smooth for a short wheel-based SUV. On a recent trip of 2,500 miles, including city miles, I got an impressive 28.8 MPG. I was driving 75 MPH on the highway, so I was quite pleased with the mileage. What's more, that trip was done with the

Bronco Sport looks great and is fun to drive, when it is running. However, we experienced some issues with our 2021 First Edition after 2400 miles, and the engine failed. It has been at the dealer for about 2 months, longer than it has been in the garage at my house. If you're considering purchasing one, my friendly advice would be to wait a couple of years until they work out the kinks.

The car is very sensitive and changes gears easily, even with just a light touch. Unfortunately, my car has had three recalls, which has been quite inconvenient. I've had to go without a car for days or pay for a rental due to manufacturing issues.

I experienced power train malfunction warning lights as I was driving the car off the lot, and unfortunately, the warning lights continue to go off every time I drive it. Despite being in the shop for three weeks of the one month that I owned it, Ford has refused to offer a buyback. It is my opinion that Ford does not stand behind their cars. I would caution anyone considering purchasing a Bronco to be aware of this issue.

I recently traded in my Big Bend after owning it for just 4 months. Unfortunately, I found the front seats uncomfortable, the back seat lacking in leg room, and the cargo space insufficient. Additionally, the ride was noisy and the interior was made of cheap plastic. The hood also rattled while driving and I found the lack of power and smoothness disappointing. The auto stop feature was anything but convenient. Ultimately, I didn't feel that the Big Bend was worth the price tag of 34k. That's why I decided to trade it in for a Subaru Forester.

2 days off the lot, torque converter locks up. Takes a month for Ford to decide what to do. Another 22 days for the transmission to be replaced. Engine does not sound the same. there is a light rattle and some oil or fluid may be leaking from the engine/transmission area. In an independant shop today. About two months out now.
