2018 Buick Cascada problems

The Opel Cascada is a four-passenger fabric-roof convertible, manufactured and marketed by Opel across a single generation for model years 2013-2019, prioritizing year-round touring comfort over sportiness.
Nearly identical badge engineered variants were marketed globally using the Cascada nameplate under four General Motors brands: Opel, Vauxhall, Holden and Buick — and the Opel Cabrio nameplate in Spain.
The 2+2 convertible was engineered at Opel's International Technical Engineering Center in Rüsselsheim, Germany, and was styled under the direction of Mark Adams, head of Opel design, at Opel's Rüsselsheim Design Center — with Andrew Dyson (exterior) and Elizabeth Wetzel (interior).
After debuting at the 2012 Geneva Auto Show, the brand variants were manufactured in Gliwice, Poland, up until assembly ended on 28 June 2019 — with a combined total of 48,500 produced and the final Cascada manufactured for the US market.
The Cascada derives its name from the Spanish word for waterfall.

Common 2018 Buick Cascada problems
The 2018 Buick Cascada has received some complaints from owners, primarily related to electrical issues and the convertible top.
One of the most common problems is the failure of the front collision system, which is intended to enhance safe driving by lighting up and sounding an alarm when approaching another vehicle too quickly. However, some owners have reported that the system fails to activate, and the indicator doesn't change from green to amber when nearing another car, which is a serious safety issue.
Another issue that some owners have faced is the convertible top not retracting when using a key fob. Some users have experienced an issue where the convertible top would not come down when pressing and holding the unlock button on the key fob. This issue can be frustrating, especially during hot weather or when the driver wants to enjoy the open-air driving experience.
In addition to these issues, some owners have reported electrical problems with the infotainment system. For instance, a recent buyer of a 2017 Cascada experienced an infotainment system freeze after driving about 62 miles. The navigation, time, and music stopped working, and despite pressing all buttons, the system only resumed after about 15 minutes. The owner, who was using a USB for music, was uncertain if this contributed to the issue.
While these issues can be frustrating and annoying, they do not seem to be widespread or severe enough to significantly impact the overall reliability of the 2018 Buick Cascada. However, potential buyers should be aware of these issues and consider them when making a purchasing decision.

I found the perfect affordable and comfortable convertible when I purchased this car in October 2018. The salesman and dealership were incredibly helpful during the purchase and ongoing service. I continue to receive compliments from unsolicited bystanders on how pretty the car is. I have really enjoyed the comfort, reliability, and feel of this car. I highly recommend test driving the car before discounting it based on negative reviews. As someone who has never previously owned a Buick, I am now a fan of this car and the Buick brand.

This is a really nice vehicle with many great features. The only low part is the center stack for the controls. However, it has plenty of pep and the best soft top I have ever had. I have owned over a dozen rag tops. Now, 10 months later, I have 10,000 miles on the car and I get well over 30 mpg at 70 mph. Everything works well, and the heater is very good for Wisconsin winters. I love this car! It's been 15 months and now I have 16,000 miles on the vehicle. The average mpg is over 30 and I have had no problems at all. It's a great car for the money. As time goes by, I have had the Buick for close to 2 years now and I still have no problems. With 22,000 miles, the tires are doing great (20 inch). I love this vehicle! Now, with 27,000 miles on the Buick, everything is still going okay. Maybe I will replace the tires at 35,000 miles, but no problems at all. My lady friend just purchased a used 2016 Cascada because she liked mine so much. As of August 2023, I have 53,000 miles on it and I have had no problems at all. It gets 30 miles per gallon, but I use high test. This is a great auto!

This car is truly impressive! Its sharp design and vibrant colors make it stand out from the crowd. Not only does it ride smoothly and quietly, but it also holds its value well. Unlike other cars in its class, this Buick has a touch of class and style. It comes loaded with most of the latest tech features, making it a great value for your money. Plus, it has a fantastic warranty that beats out many of its competitors. I may not be a car expert, but I know a great car when I see one, and this Buick is definitely one of them. It's even better than some of the high-priced BMWs, Audis, and Mercedes, without the exorbitant price tag and repair costs. So why not enjoy the luxury and style of this fantastic car?

It's not just a hot rod, it's a perfect blend of sport and luxury. The car feels incredibly stable and firm on the road, unlike lighter vehicles that get pushed around. It turns on a dime and fits perfectly in our garage. The top goes down in just 17 seconds and it's so quiet. The large wheels and the car's color make it look very sporty and stylish. The technology is just right, not too much like a computer. The car is quiet whether the roof is up or down. I would highly recommend it to anyone who enjoys the free feeling of driving a convertible at a great price. I couldn't believe I got the 2017 LOADED for $10K less than a 2013 AUDI. There's nothing bad to say about it at all!

Just a friendly reminder that this car is designed for two people. It might not be the most comfortable option for anyone sitting in the backseat during a long drive.

Nice car! The price is great too. Although, the engine might be a bit noisy and not as powerful as some others.
